I have no idea why Debney was debarked...

Maybe he even left himself, who knows ! Actually I don't care lol..."Your Highness" was one of the best film scores Steve has ever composed! This is truly one of the best soundtracks ever made by Henry Jackman and Junkie XL plus one of many others!Maybe the whole "Mel is an Anti-Semite" flared up...Who knows. I thought those two were tight after Passion of the Christ.Gotta start somewhere ! lol
This is some low-budget shit :OIt *did* sound "Balfey" to me for a long time...but that changed knowing that Hans did at least three cues that I had previously assumed to be Balfe ("Hungry for Lunch," "Jaded" from 2:09-end, and "Passing the Torch"), and realizing (as I mentioned above) that Hans seems to have done most of the "Panda Village" track. So now I hear less Balfe in it. Parts of "The Battle of Legends" and "The Spirit Realm" definitely have his sound in them, but I definitely see this as a Hans score now, which I didn't before.
Many thanks isildur. I hope to hear your own cover.

x marco:
hmmm. I'm a bit embarrassed.
google translator does not translate well from English, so do not understand the exact meaning of the text.
English words I know can be counted on the fingers of one hand. sorry.
about the libraries, I took as an example the 'cellos' section but also applies to other instruments.
I use different types of small libraries of the same instrument (without resorting to large libraries of last generation that are definitely good, but they are heavy for my pc).
the resulting sound as a whole is more 'full bodied' than using a single instrument (in our example: only one instument of cellos section).
but this should not, for me, make me lose sight of the overall sound of the song. This 'not lose sight of' it forces me to put some of my originality (perhaps appreciated or maybe not).
I hope I have correctly understood your question :)

it must be remembered, however, that is the musical composition that makes the difference. therefore, the compliments go to Hans Zimmer and staff ;)Wow... Varese Sarabande still suck at artworks. Especially fonts... Ugh...

I'm fine with Rupert scoring this one, but I have the same question as Ds - why Debney was 'kicked out'?Thanks for Sharing
I'll definitely take a listen to both of those. I had heard Bee Movie a few years back but it never stuck with me. Maybe it's time to revisit it :-)Both covers are awesome mate. Kudos!*Even* Your Highness? I love that score! :pmpolonest123, you should check out Bedtime Stories and Bee Movie (the latter admittedly with a bit of behind-the-curtain help from Hans himself). Both are really fun scores, albeit a lot lighter than what this movie calls for. RGW is quite talented, actually, a lot better than what the fairly bland Tarzan would have you believe.even your highness is better then this, the use of electronics adding to the beauty of the tune but too much of it clouds the main orchestra.
I think the result is excellent especially if you haven't studied music. Can you please tell me about these cello libraries?
I like also small variations despite the cover being really matching the original, small variations with respect to the original (whether intended or result of the arrangment) give a touch of personal interpretation and originality. When it is the result of researching too much the original sound, it is not a good result (I believe I have this flaw in some parts my arrangment) but when it is not, then the result is good. Cannot explain better but in your "Da Vinci", I like that.He seems to never get proper credit ? Score sounds totally Balfe to me .Who knows...The booklet credits him. The cuesheet credits him. So the studio knows. :P

Somewhat related, it occurred to me looking at the cuesheet posted below that I guess Hans wrote the main new tune that's the main part of "Panda Village" - cause it also shows up in "Spirit Realm Part 1," which does *not* credit Lorne Balfe.

And heck, while I'm here: what two cues are "Po's Destiny" (credited to HZ/JP) and "Potential" (HZ/NW)? I've been able to figure out all the other ones.any particular reason lorne balfe wasn't credited in the film itself? the end credits say music produced by lorne balfe, additional music by paul mounsey, kung fu panda themes by hans zimmer and john powell... but no credit for balfe doing the father/son tune?Outside of Winter's Tale (which is severely underrated imo) nothing RGW has scored has stood out to me. I would've loved to see someone like Lorne Balfe take this type of project on.

Still, fingers crossed for Rupert to deliver something good. :-)
