Hybrid why is Hans taking on so many projects this year? Any insights into that?Why remove them?Because there was no time for him to do WW 1.

He was on tour for months... Had 2 tours in early 2016/17 + Dunkirk to handle. Wouldn't have worked at all.Really loved that song 'n lirycs. Always became my lulaby on the night.He did...once... ;)
So why exactly did Hans fight for Rupert with Wonder Woman and why is he scoring '84? Not criticizing, I just remember him thinking that it was better for more women to be involved as composers or performers on Wonder Woman projects.

I don't even necessarily agree with the concept that a woman needs to score a movie about women, I'm just curious why he wanted Rupert in and why he himself took over for the sequel if he felt that way?I would have gone with...
Music was good, didn't fit the DCEU, film was the worst thing ever.

Hans is fine, prefer his older stuff.Hybrid, do you have the Inception credits?Hybrid? Any chance you could upload some unreleased tracks from this to your channel? Or just that suite, that you did but was removed :/Welp, necro thread i guess.
Back then people still used CDs from time to time and a CD can only fit a little more than an hour worth of MP3s on it.Music was good, film was better. Nay, good. nothing, better than Hans

Hans, for you. <3

Sincerely,
RicardoSometimes, I wish the world was, one with iself. This, music and harmony set into one man's vision. Hans, you inspire us. You, alone.

Sincerely,
RicardoIt's not officially available but a clear version can be found on the bleeding fingers website under Andrew Christie.Can someone ask Powell or Zimmer to put up some demos or suites from this score for study. It's such a great score and a real demonstration that a team effort can produce real quality.
@Hybrid Soldier
Did HZ just do the first season of wormhole and then his stuff gets reused/rearranged by Jacob Shea or did he consistently write throughout several seasons?Thanks for the great insight as always Hybrid!Any idea when can we expect a track list of Tom's score ?It depens on person, you don't like it but this ost got millions of likes. You are only free to express your opinion.Mmmh yeah let's say he acted like a music producer until Rupert was in, even as early as 2016 (right after BVS) he met with Patty Jenkins, he was never gonna do it because he was on tour anyway but he had the ideas as to who could/should score it. He had many ideas, submitted names etc.

Rupert got the gig in the end. Rupert I think could actually have come back to WW84, WW was a tough project but there was no problem (hell, he nailed it with Aquaman too, which was much easier cause there was no "legacy" to follow), but it really is Hans who showed interest to actually do it. Hans got really attached to Wonder Woman, playing the theme in his 2017 Live Tour. I think he wanted more than be the "WW Theme Writer", he wanted to have a full WW score.

what is the relation between Hans Zimmer and James Horner? Are they friends? I've never heard any of them mentioning the other.

What unique and powerful arrangements in Sherlock Holmes, Mr. Zimmer... definitely a different sound and "era" of sounds coming from you, and I enjoyed it very much. Also, these dancers must have been a joy to watch at the Oscars!

Cheers and congratulations on such fine work.

You should add Giacchino's fantastic speech, not only this out-of-sync dances! :P
(What on earth is the robot thing on Married Life? I believe I'm not the only one who felt disgusted by it...)

This is awesome. God damn! If I knew how they will present nominated scores, I would stay up and watch the ceremony.

Esteem reply Replies: 0 || 2010-03-14 00:00:00
"Discombobulate" was raped in this video. It sounds so awful compared to the original one, found in the album.

Well I saw few minutes of UP but I bet it wasnt the best score of the year but maybe the academy wanted to suprise us by not giving the trophie to hans or james ! I watched the oscar live and I was staring at tv screen to hear Oscar goes to HANSSSSSSSSSSSS and then bang they ruined my hopes !

Its okay , next year hopefully !

I agree with RuthlessGravity : Bear McCreary is really a good composer, who works hard to give every time the best score possible. His work on Battlestar Galactica, or Caprica or The Sarah Connor Chronichles is just awesome.
But I don't think cinema directors really think about him, and Cameron preferes Horner, even if his work reminds many others composers (Titanic, for example, was really copied from John Williams' Far and Away, and there are many examples).
I think that Klaus Badelt could do the job, too : he's really good and able to make us feel many things.

@ Peter Bezemer
Up was indeed nicely done. Though I have to say, the Avatar score was weak. It just seemed like James Horner was trying to push everything he learned, and it came out iffy. He did repeated himself, but very briefly. Honestly, if anyone can do a score to Avatar. It would have to be Bear McCreary, simply because he can do a very wide range of music, including science fiction which doesn't carry along with the occasional cliched sci-fi music.

Up was very well done,
I like the Avatar score, however, Horner copies himself a lot...

Hope for Inception and/or Batman 3 (but released later, no?)...

Haroda reply Replies: 0 || 2010-03-11 00:00:00
A Single Man was definitely the best score of the year. Up was gonna win no matter what.

quinlan reply Replies: 0 || 2010-03-11 00:00:00
Hu... I'm not really a fan of Michael Giacchino. I listened the Star Trek score, has Up's and others and, finally, he stays really "classic", and reminds me a little the Howard Shore of the begins. I loved Sherlock Holmes and Hurt Locker's scores, but congratulation to Mr Giacchino : an Oscar is hope for a better work later.
And I'm happy Horner didn't cought the award : his Avatar seems part copyed from Zimmer's work and John Williams' (like every of his works, we'll say)...

Again, congratulation to the nominees (who are important in the film music "industry"), and to Michael Giacchino.

Now, I'm waiting Inception's score...
Ho, and Henri 4 is this evening on TV... In France, yeah (I'm French, too). :D

Not dissapointed at all, just because i love the Up score. And we all know Hans is a great composer, nomination is fine :)

ZaS reply Replies: 0 || 2010-03-10 00:00:00
Oscar may just want to give new (or maybe not) composer a chance to be known (and they hardly give an award to someone twice!, if it's not that necessary), so that he can shine like other great composers. Congratulation to Michael Giacchino, you're in the group now.

Kurt reply Replies: 0 || 2010-03-10 00:00:00
I honeslty believed that Hans Zimmer was going to win for Sherlock Holmes and was slightly dissapointed at the fact that he didn't. Michael Giacchino's work on UP though is very good so i'm not angry that he one instead of Hans Zimmer.

Ehsan reply Replies: 0 || 2010-03-09 00:00:00
I think Hans Zimmer's music is better than Michael.

Bryan reply Replies: 0 || 2010-03-09 00:00:00

Congratiolations...but...not an Oscar Score.
