Most probablyI am not a hybrid, i will try to give my opinion. I think, music in 5 season will come out when and 6 season. But I really want to be wrong!!! :)It's very sad...(((The 'Allentown Brothers' track is pretty damn awesome (find it on YouTube). It's like a mix between gothic Elfman, Desperate Housewives and Transformers. I love it.

It's one of those scores that people don't talk about much but it's actually pretty cool.

An awesome venue would be the Opera House in Odessa.
Want this so bad!!!Does anyone have a breakdown of this with the official score album?
Hats off to Batu Sener for working on many of the score's best cues though!It all comes to personal preference I think. Personally I’ve moved on from collecting cd’s (or anything really) and would rather have everything digital simply to utilize space.

That being said, I completely understand the appeals of having physical media, it would be sad to see that go away for the people who really love it.It's not only to appreciate the work, its to have something "real" in your hands, for your music collection. I don't like only to have a digital music archive. Of course, i rip all the cds i own to WAV and MP3. But i want to have them in my physical music collection.
These day, sure. But we usually get news of the next one by the time he's finished wrapping up the current one.Powell only does 1 score a year.Still no news on his next score? Is he taking a break or something? Working on more concert stuff?Was pleasantly surprised by this one when I first heard it. Outside of the ‘modern scoring’ portions you get some fun noir music for the squad, solid action writing, and even some good emotional cues.

Also gotta love the rhythmic idea from Antz popping up here...Also, the use of the guitars by Jablonsky, are still the best since the 90s
I give a spin (almost 4 years after my last listening), it grown on me (still don't consider of the best of Jab), but much better than Skyscraper (ok score) and Battleship (guilty pleasure, but not a good score by any means), i like the style of Jablonsky in this one, his rhythms (but i still don't care about the 'motif' for Cohen or certain sound design tracks like 'You Can't Shoot Me' or 'You Know the Drill')

But still has such cool action moments (Hot Potato With a Grenade) and emotional/romantic moments, and still enjoyed that from this.<3 Buck Takes the LeadHybrid do you know what cues Mancina worked on here? I read in the Twister booklet that the director heard a cue from this and wanted Hans for Twister but he told him that it was actually Mark.100% for HybridSoldier!I am very glad we have 2 scores by Steve this year. Waiting for Spenser Confidential.

You have to take this for what it is. It's a little fun to see Hans in action, but personally I think putting on The Kraken which I have thrash-listened long ago is more exciting.

They were on the rooftop of a parking garage, under the hot sun, with dancing Jeffry Katzenberg, no wonder they lost their minds! ;)

Skyler reply Replies: 0 || 2009-07-21 00:00:00
But if you think about it, one needs to keep in mind that this is a Dreamworks Animation performance. Kung Fu Panda, Madagascar, etc. - He's probably in the same frame of mind that he was in when he wrote those. If he was doing a live performance of The Last Samurai, Beyond Rangoon, Hannibal, or The Da Vinci Code, I doubt he would be jumping around with an electric guitar while wearing neon green pants and a ridiculous red baseball hat.

Well, Hans Zimmer has never been exactly normal...
Watch this video, staring at 6:40:

I think if Zimmer *hadn't* lost his mind his music wouldn't be half as interesting :)

Am I the only one who find this so cheesy? Zimmer has lost his mind I think.

Hans Zimmer, Harry Gregson Williams, John Powell and Steve Jablonsky, all in one stage, it's now written in history books.....

Miles reply Replies: 0 || 2009-07-14 00:00:00
I recognized HZ, but I couldn't tell who the others were. Who was doing what?

Ram (London) reply Replies: 0 || 2009-07-14 00:00:00
Hans was of course on electric guitar, Harry was behind the Mac and keyboard I think, John Powell was on that Chinese instrument with Hans, and Steve was on some sort of percussion instruments.

Its possible that they played different as the concert went on, but it was diffidently cool to see them all play as an ensemble. Of course they feel much more comfortable with their computers around, lol

For those who don't know very well what the guys look like (and I don't know everybody myself !) :

HZ of course with the green pant and the guitar !

In the center of the stage, behind the laptop and dancing (with the T-shirt "when dads go bad..." lol) is HGW

On the left, behind the 2 violinists with his laptops => Steve Jablonsky...

On the right, on the other laptop, there's Nick Glennie-Smith (tall guy with the yellow hat :D), though you can't see him very well performing...

Singing Halleluja is of course Lisbeth Scott...

Playing Kung Fu Panda with HZ (in white) is John Powell !

The dark haired electric cellist (in white with the Swiss cross) is Martin Tillman !

On the other guitar is Heitor Pereira !

And when they are all in front of the audience at the end, the old guy on the left of Lis Scott is orchestrator Bruce Fowler, and the guy with the yellow T-shirt is HZ's "lethal weapon" Lorne Balfe...

Hope I help ! And sorry for those I missed !

superM reply Replies: 0 || 2009-07-14 00:00:00
i think there's Ryeland Allison at percussions & Bruce Fowler on the lisbeth scott's left at the end...

There's also one woman who plays the Horn and I'm sure it's Suzette Moriarty ( zimmer orchestrator )

Livio reply Replies: 0 || 2009-07-13 00:00:00
Yeah that's really cool :) but the sound quality could be better (ok, I'm a bit spoiled with brilliant live filmmusic :))

I like the Swiss Cross on Martin Tillman's shirt :D

Brian reply Replies: 0 || 2009-07-13 00:00:00
That was awesome! That is why he is THE BEST!

Pridelander/Miya reply Replies: 0 || 2009-07-13 00:00:00
> But whyyyyyy nobody announced it ???? :(

It's a private concert for employees of DreamWorks Animation, so you can't attend unless you are a DW animator or something! ;)

Rooftop of parking garage, under the summer sun... must be the worst environment to do a concert, and the audience seems to prefer "Move It" song to scores ;)

btw I want that Hans' T-shirt :D
