Well, Alan Silvestri first did Captain America, then The Avengers. So it's not always people involved with Batman. Why is it always Batman composers who end up scoring films for different superhero characters? First Danny Elfman, now Hans Zimmer!Aye, many great masterpieces! Don't forget the instrumental Lion King score and the bittersweet anthem for Crimson Tide! It's probably Terraforming.I'll always get chills when I listen to The Burning Heart from Hannibal. Such an under-appreciated cue in HZ's repertoire. Or To Every Captive Soul. I enjoy that love theme just a tad bit more than Marry Me. That in no way belittles Marry Me for me, it's one of HZ's best themes ever. Other ignored cues, I believe, are First Ideas from Frost/Nixon, The Banker's Waltz from Matchstick Men (and the whole score for that matter), and really the whole score to Two Deaths (granted, that one's hard to find).
official webgame may contains a new score clip.<br>metropolismayhem.manofsteel.com/For me it depends on the style of the score - they would bug me in more "lyrical" scores (like Da Vinci Code, PotC 3), but they are great when it comes to the sheer force. :)+1 <br>"Marry Me" (and every reprise/variation of the Love Theme from AwE) is a wonderful piece of music. :)<br><br>... and don't forget "Show Me Your Firetruck" or "Journey To The Line". ;)Thank God! If there's one thing that bugs me it's synth horns. I don't mind electronics if they can add to the orchestra, but I'd prefer them not to replace it.Thanks Hybrid! :) Yeah, lots of samples, but sadly there weren't any RCP-sampled french horns. Those are always epic... :-)
Depends on the mood... ;)I know!!! The way the music kind of swelled when Gordon said, "They know. It was the Batman." and you saw them uncover the statue. There were manly tears, I tell you!I agree. Even though the last minute and a half was a blatant copy of the music used in the previous movie (see "A Watchful Guardian"), I for once didn't care (I usually hate it when a whole cue is copied exactly). The entire ending scene gets my emotions going every time. Especially when I saw it in the theater.I thought all the end music (basically the entire track "Rise") was just PERFECT. One of the biggest goosebumps i've ever had in a theatre (on par with Beckett's death in PotC) :pHybrid Soldier, since you're virtually famous, what Zimmer work is your favorite? :P
And 9:11-14:12 in "Rocket Away" from the Rock! :DA favorite of mine that hardly anyone mentions is The Burning Bush from The Prince of Egypt. It really conveys the presence of God.I like the theme a lot, too, Ds, and it made perfect sense to use it when Batman showed up in the tunnel (my favorite part of the movie) and when he saved Blake from the thugs, but when Batman said, "This isn't a car", we had just heard it in the previous scene. And when Batman appears out of the exploding building at the end, it sounds really forced. You guys are right. These are all AMAZING themes. Moving and addictive!<br><br>I'd add "Hummel Gets The Rockets" from The Rock and "All Of Them" from King Arthur.Marry Me is my favorite Zimmer theme and cue as well. Although all of the suggestions below are also great pieces. I'll throw in the main theme from Crimson Tide as well as practically the proto power anthem. Such an influential score.

Question....are we allowed to post movie version edits of songs? For example, I have a version of the Batman Chased scene from TDKR which is closer to the film version, but it's from pre-existing cues. I didn't do any recording myself.

Well there's a Youtube channel called "yourfavoratemusic" that has many excellent covers of Hans Zimmer's music.

He wrote them while in a foreign country for a year, using nothing but a mouse and laptop keys. They'll be re-done in a month when he goes back to the U.S. (with better resources)

Without question, the Ultraviolet motion picture score is one very fine piece of work by the gifted composer Klaus Badelt. His score was.., shall we say.., instrumental in making this, otherwise comic book of a film, riveting. By his efforts, his music made this movie just bearable to view. So why, in the name of God, is there no place on Earth whereI can find the soundtrack to this film? I thought you could find anything on the internet, in any size and color, but Im dammed if I can find this movie score anywhere. Why was it not released as a CD!? God knows, there are lots and lots of movie soundtracks released to Cd that do not come close to the brilliance of this particular score. ############

Just saw/heard Rango. Good-tasted, clever and brilliantly performed production as always. My deepest respects.
BUT, if I may :
- Chase scene on horseback. Is it a reference to Star Wars, right? The battle in the Death Star. Surprisingly, we hear Wagner instead of John Williams. Why would that happen? A concept choice? Legal issues? Permits?
This movie is full of "musical jokes" uses a great variety of styles and ambiences and "almost quotes" a lot.
"Almost quoting" J.Williams would be more appropriate, wouldn't it? In fact J. Williams sounds very close to Wagner in this Star War score, doesn't he?

-Still in the same scene, when Rango "flies", hanging from a rope, there is the Blue Danube. A reference to 2001 (see? Two sci-fi movies!) or an almost unfortunate choice for this clichet? Maybe a little too obvious? The idea is clear, and The Danube, of course, works quite well.
Rango, with his delusional personality, enjoys the flight and forgets about all the trouble.
Maybe another famous valse?
And , I dare to say, it lasts a little longer than it sould.
I believe I see the intention of creating a kind of surreal situation : an intense action scene with a great valse.
Another point for changing : 8th bar, when action restarts. That's obvious, I know... But I just feel that this "dream" moment goes longer than it should and loses some strength.
And maybe the next changing point (when the rope wraps on the stone bridge) could be more developed, prepared.

Well, I hope you do accept this comments from an true and sincere admirer.

Cheers to all.

I listened to Jason Do's medley (good--I've never heard the original Four Feathers score, though the Spirit part was great) and I got the thought:
What if there was a collab between Zimmer and James Horner to score a movie directed by James Cameron? Since Horner scored Titanic and Avatar and you, Zimmer, are among my favorite composers, I think it would be a good idea. (Can somebody say BLOCKBUSTER?)
If Zimmer himself reads this, (1) thanks for your awesome movie scores and (2) Please think about a collab with Horner.
Keep up the amazing work!
