Who thinks COD Ghosts will be composed by an RCP member?
Mike

Well, two of the Infinity Ward games have been (Harry Gregson Williams and Steve Barton for MW1 and Lorne Balfe and Hans Zimmer for MW2), so I wouldn't be surprised. But there's no way of knowing right now. And besides, MW3 was done by Brian Tyler, not someone from RCP. Either way, I bet a prolific composer will be hired. With the exception of World at War and Black Ops, Hollywood composers have been hired for every COD game since #4.
I wish Brian Tyler had incorporated the themes from COD4/MW2 in some way. I liked the scores to all three games overall but there wasn't any continuity. Although I must say I thought they got worse as they went. COD4 sounded dark, suspenseful, and serious, MW2 sounded more movie-ish but still epic, and MW3 sounded too "heroic"--it made it feel more like an action film than war. Not that there's not a place for heroism, but IMO it was slightly overdone in the third one.

I'm inclined to agree with this. I don't know if the themes from the other two games, or a hybrid of them, would have worked, but I do think the score sounded like a "typical" modern action film (does anyone else think of Transformers when hearing the Modern Warfare 3 theme?). Oh, and let's not forget the appearance of the Bourne theme in the "Return to Sender" mission! :P Don't get me wrong, I do like the score, but if you've heard a modern action score, you've heard MW3.
I wish Chain of Command were the music when you get caught in Cliffhanger rather than the OpFor spawn theme. They sound different and the Cliffhanger version is way cooler.

indeed, who cares? we have the recordings, so who cares about a custom list?
Who knows what the tracks worked on Mark Mancina, Noah Sorota and Atli Örvarsson?

If you scroll down for a little bit you should come across a post made by Bondo that lists the credits for each track. However, it sounds like it's just what Bondo has figured--it might not be official.
Also, I think Noah Sorota may have some Modern Warfare tracks on his website (which, of course, would mean those are the ones he worked on). I don't know about the other composers though.

My notes are based on composer interviews and what is available on their official sites. So probably 95% accurate

Listening to it now. It's better than the samples had me believe. But it's still a shame that such a talented composer like Tyler is forced to write in the RC mode. Tyler is way more talented than this.

The score for MW3 is very 'Tyler' for me, not so RC. I can feel THE FAST & THE FURIOUS and RAMBO in it and it's still highly enjoyable. The main theme in "Call Of Duty: MW3" is epic catchy so far. "I Stand Alone", "Battle For New York", "Paris Siege", and "First Contact" are also my favorite tracks.
YES!!! Brian Tyler composed the Score for Modern Warfare 3... He is so much better than Remote Control Composers.

RC Composers are not creative. stolen from another composers or from hans zimmmer. hans zimmer copied himself.

Omm......then why are so many RCP scores sought-after? The Dark Knight, Sherlock Holmes, Inception, Pirates of the Caribbean,, Transformers, The Lion King, Crimson Tide, King Kong......the list goes on. Those are just off the top of my head.

I think there's a big difference between "creativity" and "innovation". Honestly, I personally think Zimmer's protegees could work on the latter. It's not a matter of being creative, it's a matter of coming up with their own styles and ideas. Balfe, Djawadi, Badelt; they're all excellent composers, no doubt about that, but there is room for innovation with their solo projects. i.e., they don't have to make everything sound exactly like something HZ himself would write. I'm not saying I have a problem there, I mean, if it ain't broke don't fix it, and I certainly don't think it's broken. But I can feasibly see where you're coming from.
Now, the whole "mass-collaboration" thing may screw that up a bit, but I guess that's why I always think of Remote Control Productions as a mass amount of composers working as one. Like gears in a clock, to be cliche. Hans could do it all by himself, no doubt, but I respect his ideals regarding music being a collaborative process. So I think they all work congruent to one another on purpose, to keep continuity in the style for a film score.

"Omm......then why are so many RCP scores sought-after?"
Same reason why McDonalds is so popular. It's easy, gives you instant satisfaction, and when in the mood there is nothing like it. But you'll always regret it after 30 minutes ;)
And King Kong is not a RCP score. Zimmer and JNH may be friends, but that doesn't make him part of the studio. The minions can only dream of being as talented as Howard :)
I highly recommend RCP fans check this out - as it has musical continuity with Gregson-Williams/Barton's Modern Warfare & Zimmer/Balfe/Metzger's Modern Warfare 2.
The end credits just owns about 1/2 of the previous score.
Anyone know if Lorne Balfe and Hans Zimmer are scoring Modern Warfare 3?

I would not call it bad news for Brian Tyler scoring the next MW game.

Brian Tyler has always been a good choice for action/thriler genre. Though his scores can be both great and just okay, they never go bad for me. I assume there will be some sort of RAMBO, THE EXPENDABLES and maybe BATTLE: LOS ANGELES in it but I strongly believe he can do much better than Sean Murray.

One of the gameplay trailers had music from Brian Tyler. And after what I've heard, I'm really satisfied. I believe Brian can deliver as good music as Balfe did.
I wonder when Lorne will return in Modern Warfare 3?

He won't. Modern Warfare 3 will be scored by Brian Tyler :) Maybe Margesson will be aboard

I've also heard the rumor Brian Tyler is scoring the 3th MW, but never anything official. Would be cool if Tyler got the gig. He's probably the best composer around these days.

h t t p://w w w.youtube.com/watch?v=eabDmJMC0tg - this is a live gameplay demonstration of MW3. you hear in some parts cues from both MW2 and MW2 for demonstration purposes. but from 6:44 till the end (during the awesome boat ride on Hudson River) you'll be note a new cue which sounds very much like Brian Tyler (pretty much like Rambo and Battle LA)!

Hard to hear the music due to all the sound effects but it indeed sounded very Tyler-esque.
Slightly OT: the game looks pretty cool, although really over the top.

According to Keith Power, one of Brian Tyler's arrangers, Tyler is indeed scoring MW3. Awesome!

In 8:00 (demo) a really cool cue starts, this is probably the main theme. And yeah, it seems music from MW1 and MW2 will be used as well. Or maybe that was just a temptrack
In this game epic and exciting things are happening, but the music takes the experience to an unexpected high level of tension, pressure and drama. btw am I the only person who was disappointed of the Black Ops score? (played it with Inception's music underneath :P)
He is Hans Zimmer ... no more in music world, he made the best sound trucks for the best like Black Hawk Dawn and Call of duty MW2 for example.. when i hear his music i feel it is talk to my deep mind and heart. what do you think of him.... he is german this great beautiful country Long live Hans Zimmer
