Listening to this version right now. It's actually quite a decent score and probably Streitenfeld's best so far.
Still, one can only wonder what Harry Gregson-Williams or Zimmer would have done with this.

Not exactly sure how you "hear" to something, but good for you, HS!

Clearly, this guy is not Hybrid. The real Hybrid has better grammar and doesn't talk like his text has been run through a translator. This guy is just going off of several recent misconceptions about Hybrid.

I think "right" is the word you are looking for, Hybrid. "He's right", not "he's true"
But once again, good for you bro.

Mr. Charles, it looks like Trent is right. I just don't understand why foreigners--whose primary language is not English--think they can get away with pretending to be someone else. Another inaccuracy is the fact that this guy put spaces in between his last word in each sentence and the exclamation mark. This is not how we use punctuation in the English language.
Nice try, fake Hybrid, but you failed again. :(

why doesn't bring this site up a registration? where you're only able to post comments, if you're registered. That would "kill" this fake-shit here -.-

UMMMM...Why would you use iTunes as a search engine?
God damn, it is so hard to post hyperlinks on this site now. I was going to post a couple links here that I found after physically no time on Google using the keywords "marc streitenfeld prometheus" but it's too hard to find the right way to post them.
So then, why not check this page? ht tp://hans -zimmer.c om/index.php?rub=disco&id=1091. Herp Derp.
Yes, you are right. This music is from Irish composer, Sean O'Riada & is called Mna Na hEireann (Women Of Ireland). Kubric used it in Barry Lyndon, that version being performed by The Chieftains, whose unique sound greatly impressed him. I can find no credit or reference given to O'Riada in the film credits.
Just watched this move again and as stated earlier the dance scene with Maid Marion? Robin and Marian dance by the Bonfire? As stated earlier its at 1:37:34 at the movie... What is that music? Its not Original to the movies its from somewhere maybe Kubrick? Can anybody please help? Kind regards John
My personal chronological order of the CD tracks is below I have not taken into consideration repeated tracks as it is very difficult to identify
02 Creatures 01 Destiny 04 Godfrey 05 Ambush 06 Pact Sworn In Blood 03 Fate Has Smiled Upon Us 07 Returning The Crown 10 John Is King 09 Sherwood Forest 08 Planting The Fields 11 Robin Speaks 12 Killing Walter 13 Nottingham Burns 14 Siege 16 Walter's Burial 15 Landing Of The French 17 Preparing For Battle 18 Charge 19 Clash 20 The Final Arrow 21 The Legend Begins 22 Merry Men
half the track of sherwood forest is used when robin hood and his merry men is riding in the sherwood forest before the ambush.
nottingham burns is used when godfreys soldiers push the people of nottingham into a building and set it on fire.
the title moslty speak for itself :) a chronological version is a little bit difficult since the same soundtrack have been used many times but here is my opinion.
Destiny Creatures Destiny Siege Godfrey Pact sworn in blood returning the crown siege ( the begning of the soundtrack) Godfrey Ambush Fate has smiled upon us Nottingham burns returning the crown King John Sherwood forest King John Nottingham burns Planting the fields Godfrey Planting the fields Godfrey Robin speaks Destiny Robin speaks Godfrey Killing Walter Nottingham burns The charge of Nottingham (unreleased soundtrack) Siege Destiny Walters burial Landing of the french Robin speaks Preapering for battle Charge Clash Siege The Final arrow the legend begins Merry men (end title) Siege Nottingham burns Fate has smiled upon us Robin speaks Landing of the french Godfrey
of course my list isnt 100% correct but i did my best :P
There's no inspiration from Transformers OST as some people affirms. But you can notice that "walter's burial" of "sherwood forest" and even "merry men" refer to the populate Andreas Johnson's "Glorious" tune in accoustic.
wow it is kind of interesting to see your point of view. personly i love marc streitenfelds score to all the movies that he have made. and i think he is a really great composer, the score for American Gangster made a really goode mode for the movie. the score for body of lies wasnt hes best, some tracks were great and some where just okei. i really love the score for robin hood and i think that the music fits perfect to every frame of the movie.
and also like i have said many times before: on every film project the director is the BOSS so the composer just have to give the score that the director wants. If the director want just some low background music which isnt that memorable the composer have to make it. And a lot of times the director doesnt listen to the composers and that could really hurt the final score that the composer have to make for the movie. im not saying that Ridley scott doesnt know music, he is my favorite director and he is also a direcotr who uses really good and amazong score for his movies.
Im not an expert on score, but me and my ears really love the score of marc streitenfeld. and i really hope we will start to hear more from him in other movies. hope you understand my points despite my bad English, im from Norway so im glad i could use it as an excuse :) interesting to read about your opinion on Marc even if i dont agree whit you it is always interesting to learn about other peoples ponit of view :)
I would like to begin by saying how delighted I was to see a more earthy and original Robin Hood than is the hollywood norm. That being said, Marc Streitenfeld's score was severely disappointing, to say the least. It is often said that anyone can learn the rules of writing, but it takes real talent to know how to write. In that same sense, Streitenfeld has learned well orchestration and intrumentation. But he does not know how to compose a masterpiece. His scores are always non-descript and un-creative. I am currently studying orchestration and composition for film and stage, and I do not pretend that I could (currently) do better than Marc Streitenfeld. But he has the same agonizing fault that runs like a plague through the majority of modern film composing: he re-uses music from film to film. Hans Zimmer has done it from time to time, James Horner does it, Harry Gregson-Williams unabashedly does it... And that is not just undesirable, it is insulting. Because we know they are capable of digging down and doing better than that.
Vlad, I was searching for the same thing you asked about. I believe it is at its origin a medieval song, but it resembles The Christians, Words. Actually I think it is more correct to say that Words resembles the medieval tune...
i think the robin hood theme is better then the transformers. not only that but robin hood is also a much better movie then transfromers on soo many levels. so quit giving Marc Streitenfeld shit. thats just one theme, there are sooo many other tracks on this CD which is soo really incredeble good! people have talked shit about marc streitenfeld for american gangster and body of lies. i loved marc streitenfelds score from day one and wheen every body doubt about his composing skills when they heard he was gonna compose the score for robin hood. i never stopped belive in Marc Streitenfelds composing skills and he never dissepointed me. i really hope to hear more from in in other movies then the one Ridley scott is making. i hope other people will se the effort he puts in the score and hire him for more movies :)
This is an excellent score. I re-saw the film this evening and noticed a whole chunk of music not on the released CD (namely, the lovely themes when Robin and Marian are riding around Nottingham). Do you know if a full-score release is planned?
Very nice, but sometimes it's repetitive in the album (not a lot) But the main theme are great ! ANd during the film, the musics is .... Great too. So fabulous
For Vlad: I didn't find the true song but I find two one who can help "Planting the field" and "Merry Men" Sorry for my english, it's a little bit difficult for french.
Hello everybody. There is a nice song from the movie, which I can't find anywhere. It's from the part where Robin and his "wife" are dancing for the first time in Nottingham. Does anyone know it?
