Is the Drive Angry Soundtrack out yet? I know it's been released digitally, but I want to download it (not through iTunes....I will get it eventually). I'll have to listen to the sample of it in iTunes.
As said Dakota below, the track "Mass VS Acceleration" in "Drive Angry" sounds just like Mombasa, it's pretty perplexing and plagiarism to me. Too bad Inception didn't get the Oscar, this OST fits so perfectly the movie ! (but I couldn't chose between this and HTTYD)
ja, i see! :) well, I think all the suite kinda stuff (Time, Waiting for a Train, Old Souls and so forth) is composed by Hans while Lorne did all the tracks for the scenes in particular (Radical Notion, 528491).
Well ya, for the most part. But what about Lorne? I do not know what he sounds like. It's not like I can just listen to the whole thing and be like "ok, Time is Lorne, 528491 is Hans, Mombasa is Hans & Lorne..." you know what I mean?
Shame he didn't win. Hybrid, inside the booklet for the Soundtrack it states that Half Remembered Dream and Waiting For A Train contain portions of Non Je Ne Regrette Rien by Edith Piaf. Perhaps you should add an asterisk or the plus sign next to each track noting this? Also maybe which tracks Johnny Marr contributed to and which one Lorne did additional music with? If you can, thanks =)
Ok I just saw Drive Angry 3D and I swear on my life I heard Mombasa in there. If anyone saw it, it's the part when Jonah and Piper are fighting on the trailer.
...ok, I think his line of work make sence, when you look at this project in particular. Hans said in various interviews that he has never even watched a scene while scoring the movie. So Hans did all the themes, all the sounds and so forth - like a musical, narrative dictionary, while Lorne just made them fit to the pictures. That really make sence!! Earth circles the sun! :-)
No one said Hans phones it in. You dont need to believe me, but its true. Everyone at RC ghostwrites, why is it so hard to believe? Its been going on for years.
@Ds, Maybe its why the Academy never lets Zimmer win?
seriously i believe insider, and no i'm not the user "insider" ^^
fact IS that lorne and others do so many work for hans. hans really is just doing the themes and the others do the rest. that's now so long with every soundtrack. that's why the scores haven't the quality like they had years ago.
but yes, i don't care anymore that much. i like lorne and i love hans. so bring more scores :D and please release all the scores in the "recordings sessions" way. last samurai, batman begins, the thin red line, etc etc
Wow guys you've discovered the Earth is not flat ! Congrats !
Seriously, HZ can write an hour of theme suites, Lorne will arrange them to fit the movie and add subthemes, ideas etc...
So what ? It has always been HZ's process of writing... The score still is HZ as his music is everywhere... It's not "less" HZ or "more" Lorne... It's HZ/Lorne, like Sherlock, Angels & Demons, TDK... That's all... ;)
