@Hybrid<br><br>And honestly I知 ok with that. RGW did a fantastic job with that score, but I would be lying if I said I thought the themes were anything special. I think he did a much better job with Aquaman in terms of creating memorable tunes and developing the ideas.No, don't expect anything from the first score to return.Good to know. Hybrid do you have any insight on this release?^ Lol yeah I guess you could count it like that. <br><br>I知 wondering if the template will be similar to Thor: Ragnarok, with electronics in the forefront but still utilizing the orchestra throughout. And the even bigger question; will any of RGW痴 themes return?Yes, Tina Guo did record music for WW84. Although you could make an argument that since she was using an electric cello, that is "synth" music. ;)
@mephariel<br>Even better, I知 hoping for a hybrid type score. <br><br>And Tina Guo did post a vid of her recording the WW theme a while back, not sure if it was specifically for this project but if it was it sounds badass!I assume more concerts will be scheduled... looking forward to seeing BARCELONA in the list, please! :)It'd be awesome if Hans and co. went the Thor: Ragnarok route and created some kickass psychedelic synth ballads. I'm interested to hear how they interpret their WW theme for this setting.Is there a date for Lisbon, Portugal?<br>Thank youthis is never hans :D
I just finished the movie last week and the score was the best thing about the film. The scene using the cue "Simba is Alive!" is perfect.Not all synths. Mazzaro and Fleming posted pictures of them recording the score at Air Studios early in November so there will be some orchestral or instrumental music.As the trailer posts, soundtrack coming from WaterTower Music.No, it's just a slight rework of Blue Monday by New Order. Admittedly, it's quite catchy. Nothing from Hans tho, not even the WW-theme at the end which they did for the first movies trailers. Guess we have to wait till the movie comes out.The only thing that matters to me about the movie is Hans, so I wonder, has the trailer musicalized Hans?
Synth Hans I知 guessing ;-)Yeah, it's a nice little mini HTTYD score. It's a bit frustrating that he's seemingly never allowed to develop an idea for very long before moving on to the next thing and the next (probably because of the pacing of the short), but I like the way he plays around with Powell's themes. It makes me think that if they ever decide to make a fourth HTTYD movie and Powell decides he's said all he has to say in the series, Willis would be a good choice to continue it (Zanelli/Pirates style).He's also credited on one short cue from Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, but other than that, nothing that I know of...Just saw the movie. Seemed like the score is enjoyable enough, but I didn't hear much that would distinguish it from the first one really except some kind of standard villain material.Because those have nothing to do with Hans Zimmer or associated composers....

It sounds great but I expected a different theme cause, after all, 'Angels and Demons' isn't neither a prequel nor a sequel of 'The DaVinci Code'. But wait and listen...

The movie trailers section of Apple.com has a sneak peek at Hans scoring the film, with a new variation on the Da Vinci Code theme. Check it out, it sounds great!

160 BPM probably means 160 Beats per Minute. This could mean the music has a very fast tempo !
I know Zimmer like to "comment" his own music in the track titles ("A Small Piece for Doumbek and Strings", "The Jablonsky Variations on a Theme by HZ", "Too Many Notes, Not Enough Rests"...) :P

@Kusi81 -

Thanks for that, interesting. But here, '503' means -

------!!!SPOILERS!!!--------------------------

In Roman numerals 503 is written "DIII", and it refers to Galileo's work "Diagramma", the third work beginning with the letter 'D'.

Sylvos reply Replies: 0 || 2009-04-14 00:00:00
Mr Tweedy, that is letter "I" + 60 BPM. ;-)

DemonStar reply Replies: 0 || 2009-04-13 00:00:00
Not bad. We should have an integration of electronics and orchestra/choir here signifying Science and Religion respectively. Can't wait!

Assuming that Hans was indeed inspired to get violin solos on this project by James Newton Howard's work on Defiance, then perhaps he should talk to Michael Giacchino at some point to get some inspirations for track titles too!

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2009-04-08 00:00:00
Hans is now producing Steve S. Transformer 2 and Trevor Rabin's G-Force.

dan reply Replies: 0 || 2009-04-07 00:00:00
maybe there is a chance that Hans can score ridley scott's robin hood movie. it has been awhile since these two worked together.

SUBLIME

shaadp reply Replies: 0 || 2009-04-07 00:00:00
i don't think hans will take any substantial time off till after the third batman installment. he's currently got projects already on his plate for release this year and in the future. another james brooks film (2009 release maybe) and an animated film called rango (2011 release) from gore verbinski, just to name a few.

i suspect the tracks are 5 - 10 mins on average, with full orchestration and solos on the same tracks. this should be a good one, as i expect a lot of new material. does hans bring back the "thinking" theme for tom hanks' character? does he reprise chevaliers de sangreal? is the version in the trailer (which is different than da vinci) a peak at the new and expanded version? time will only tell.

when is released the cd? ...

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2009-04-06 00:00:00
Wonder if they are nine long tracks, too bad not more of hanz's score

dan reply Replies: 0 || 2009-04-06 00:00:00
so i am guessing that Hans will take the rest of the year off because of concert schedules that was discussed last year.

Non pensavo ci fossero cos tanti Italiani fan di Hans Zimmer!!! Sono molto contento!!! Ehi, mi raccomando, comprate il CD originale!!! ;-)

However, thanks to Falconet and DemonStar, I've seen only today that the Cover is ready and the tracklist too!!! I think it's really good!!!
But it's a bit stange to see "Violins solos"...what kind of music will be with "violin solo"?!
I've read on Wikipedia that Joshua Bell is one of the most important violinist now!!! Great!!!

However I've read the book and now I think that some track name are very strange...for example: the first and the last one: what is their meaning?!! I don't know...Then I waited a longer tracklist, but as DemonStar says, they should be very long...I hope it!!!
Bye!!!

Amazon has the tracklist now -

1. I60 BPM
2. God Particle
3. Air
4. Fire
5. Black Smoke
6. Science and Religion
7. Immolation
8. Election by Adoration
9. 503

They should be long tracks I think. From the track titles (judging by the corresponding book scenes) I deduce there'll be quite some action stuff too!

DemonStar reply Replies: 0 || 2009-04-03 00:00:00
I hope the album will be a good balance between action and melodic music, and I hope Hans doesn't remove the action tracks like JNH did with Defiance. But I wholeheartedly applaud Hans for his decision to include violin solos because the plot and character emotion does get very complex near the end of the book, and I really want the music to reflect that.

So Hans, if you're reading this, don't forget to give us a fair amount of that dashing gothic choir action music on the CD too! ;)
