In the track "Smashing The Ring" (It's actually featured on this site), there is a Gregorian style chant around 1:22 - does anyone know if this is a pre-existing/traditional chant that they used or did Hans (or someone else) write it? I really like it.

This is indeed a pre-existing Greogorian chant. It's the chant "Requiem Aeternam" from the mass of the dead. If you like it you shoud check out the Requiem by Maurice Duruflé which is entirely based on the chants from the mass of the dead.
so I'm going home today but I couldn't because the road was blocked and what I'm seeing is Ron Howard basically directing a scene from Inferno in downtown Budapest. I know its crazy and dump but, I mean, my first thought was: this means HZ already did some serious early work for this!

Likely, considering that he starts writing suites very early in the process with this kind of projects. However we won't get to hear shit untill the movie is about to be released. ;)
I just saw that inferno is no longer listed on hans' page... Will he not score it or is it just not confirmed?

Well don't worry he will, it's just way too early, In The Heart Of The Sea isn't even released yet...
bro

I'm surprised Hans wasn't involved with that.

Good ol' Spanish tax laws! ;)
Anyways, even though he's been using Hans pretty consistently over the last decade or so, Ron Howard has never been a one-composer kind of guy.
What I'm more surprised about is that Inferno is even still being made. I kind of get the feeling that the world is over the whole Dan Brown religious thriller thing.
Hybrid Soldier
2015-01-07 20:02:04
He would have, bro, without that Spanish Tax Break ! :P
So, is Hans really confirmed for Inferno now (since it already appears in his profile)?

Shhhhhhhh tell no one ! ;)
Zimson
2014-11-01 17:51:04
Ok, I'll keep it down. ;) Great news, though. I'm really interested in how he's going to approach it since this one will be different from the first 2.

We've got some time before he starts though, the film got pushed from late 2015 to late 2016...

Hans Zimmer wouldn't abandon Ron Howard anyway, they've been working together for a very long time now. Plus, this series' music belongs to Hans, they have his sonic identity and honestly only Lorne, Atli, Zanelli, or Zimmer could understand how to look to the future for a score for Inferno, and keeping the sonic identity of the previous scores.
anyone notice MOS similarities around the 6 minute mark in Science and Religion?

With what MOS track?
Azog, The Defiler
2013-11-04 05:30:47
I just notice that some parts of Absurdity (The Lone Ranger) sounds similar to Air and the beginning of Citrine Cross (The Da Vinci Code)

actually starts before the 6 min mark, starts more around the 5 minute mark and goes on for a few minutes. Not sure the exact track in MOS (ill find it) it just sounded similar when i was listening to Science and Religion

The Kal-El theme from Man of Steel (the one heard at the end of "Flight") is very similar to "Science and Religion", yes.

at 5:23 to be exact.
and the progression is really similar to MOS's "Goodbye My Son" 0:53 mark.
No Seriously, It says there was a bonus track on the REGULAR one. where do I get that.

Evenstar

Then you have your answer, this operation expired with that link ! ;)
Lorne must have used JNH's Eye For an Eye from Batman as a temp track when crafting "Immolation", because MAN do they sound the same.
Medigo
2013-07-10 00:40:45
so what does this mean when you take "Am I not Merciful?" into account?
Aragorn
2013-07-10 00:54:56
It means maybe JNH used Zimmer's "Am I Not Merciful" as a temp track when scoring that scene... :P So Immolation could be based off a temp track of a temp track, and thus we have musical Inception.
Hans posted an entire track from the movie "Rush" on facebook!!

It's from the film's website. Very cool track, second half is a Lorne cue, of course... :P

It reminds me of The Sweeney soundtrack! Isn't it frustrating for Lorne to work so hard with Hans without getting public recognition?
Hybrid Soldier
2013-02-26 11:28:23
He just did a bunch of cues on that one. 4 I've been told. Some help like Rango. :)

Which means I like Lorne's cue better, reminds me of Inception a bit. Still interested to hear the full soundtrack... so many things coming up :)

this is from the Black Hawk Down library mixed with Transformers and Rabin's Gone in 60 seconds. but a very cool mix. very brave idea because the whole universe is going the complain about this, especially this site

Well, you could always just watch the movie yourself and listen for when stuff from the original soundtrack appears. Of course, that could get a bit tricky when you find stuff that's a reprise or remix of stuff on the OST and it might also leave you wanting more music than what you have.
As far as I know, no such track lists exist for what you seek.
Does anyone know anything about that unreleased music released .. --> 1 - 503 (Alternative Versions) 2 - Divine Fire 3 - four pillars 4 - Galileos 3rd Text 5 - God Save Us 6 - H2O 7 - The Holy see 8 - The Vatican The Critine Cross (Alternative Version) The Critine Cross (New Unreleased Film Version)

I lost a little respect for Hans after a friend pointed out that 160BPM sounds a lot like First Born. Its too close a copy for me to like it as much anymore lol :P

Watch what you say, you never know if the moderators will come after you. I know of no "Recording Sessions" for Angels & Demons, only some crappy expanded loaded with SFX
Yeah, I don't want download links or anything like that. I just want a proper tracklist so that I can sort the tracks I have into film order. I have recently come across a few unreleased cues and I want to know where to put them so I can listen to my album in proper film order. If the moderators get irritated over that, then they need to take their heads out of their @$$.
