<br>Random thoughts....<br><br>Honestly, Ive had to cut alot of those tracks down because much of it is meandering sound to me...<br><br>Plus I'm not much for Game of Thrones-type music with the violins and such, so this OST isn't all that for me.<br><br>I also noticed two of the tracks were released early - the theme on the website and the trailer 3 music....All you needed was the Merlin theme leaked and you would have had all the main themes<br><br><br>The Megatron music is flat...and I have no idea what they were thinking when they decided to do that Suicide Squad bit.<br><br>The action music feels nothing like it used to. I'm guessing It's because Jablonsky isn't working with the same people as before (Mazzaro, etc), but this time out I'm not feeling it.<br><br>The themes from Age of Extinction were scrapped...I mean, I get it/not really...But the new Autobot theme wasn't all that bad, and could have been useful in this score, as there is no Autobot theme in this movie to drive the score forward (Only the Game of Thrones music)...and no I'm not talking about the reprise of the original theme.<br><br>Action pieces are meh. NO new themes for any of the new characters...Can't imagine why (oh wait I can because they're introduced then killed off/or ignored right after) <br><br>I get the feeling Jablonsky doesn't wanna do Transformers anymore, but wants the money, so he pretends to be scoring a different film entirely.<br><br><br>I give this score a 5/7Dear Hans Zimmer and all the artists, i saw your performance in amsterdam and it was amazing.. loved it. hope this is only the first live tour of many to come, if so i will be there for sure... beautiful medley's. Can't get enough of it... Thank you for a great/amazing night.. hope to see you all again in amsterda, stay well, true fan, jimmyI honestly prefer Quintessa, not my favorite track, but is more engaging than Coming of Cybertron. IMO<br><br>But the standout tracks: Sacrifice, Merlin's Staff, History of Transformers, Seglass Ni Tonday, Vivian Follows Merlin, Cogman Sings, Dive, Battlefield, Calling All Autobots, Did You Forget Who I Am and Claim the StaffIf you like violin solos, female/male choirs and string action ostinatos and certain electronic pulsing action...<br><br>You're welcomeI saw the movie twice, but I can't seem to recall another version. It's only "I Had My Moment".
Haven't had time to listen to it yet. I hope it's anywhere near TMNT 2 which I love... lolThe "Quintessa" track = ear orgasm. It's weird, it's not even a melody, but it's still very appealing to me. Listening to it as we speak. Jablonsky really did a good job with this one.Hybrid - have you made a suite yet ? Heard some of the music on Lorne's Facebook and really like itlooking good darth<br><br><br>still hoping they release a deluxe edition with some of the missing cues (beach battle, London)@Hybrid, what do you think about the score? Is it a good or bad score? Thanks

Weekend listening sortedA question for everyone who has Seen the Movie: is there another Version of arrival to Earth in the Movie or just the Part from "I had my Moments" ?Fantastic music . So glad they released more than the EPHonestly, that reprise of No Sacrifice, No Victory at the end gave me everything I wanted, along with the reprises of Arrival To Earth. I just need a few songs with the main 3 themes (Arrival To Earth, Optimus, and Autobots,) to make the score feel connected with the others.
My god the arrival to Earth Part in "I had my Moments" would have been Perfect to give us a New, more mayestic Version of arrival to Earth O just don't get it why they stoped the Song at that Point. But yea "calling all autobots" has defenetly more of the old autobots theme than "I had my Moment" has of arrival to Earth. Still the best Version of the Start from arrival to Earth.It was hinted at in "Presence of Megatron", right? Even then, none of the TF sequels really used it outside of the chanting in ROTF.Calling all Autobots definitely reuses the Autobot themeNick conducted some of it during his tour breaks ! ;)At the end, James Sale conduct the orchestra, NGS left for the HZ Tour

Amazing score by Steve Jablonsky, really good action soundtrack without the need to be noisy, themes like "Hope Runs Deep", puts goosebumps, one of the best score by Jablonsky undoubtedly

I just bought this and I love it.

MrZimmerFan2014-01-06 13:31:17
You should listen Gears 3, with Gears 2, both are awesome!

MacArthur2014-01-06 16:02:35
Is the Theme still the same, Love it.

Macejko2014-01-06 16:19:54
I think it's rather dull. Jablonsky can do better.

MrZimmerFan2014-01-06 19:46:21
Macejko, go to listen Ramin Djawadi, Gears of War 2 is one the Jablonsky's Best

Macejko2014-01-06 22:14:02
I cannot understand how someone can name this one of Jablonsky's best, when there are Transformers, Ender's Game of Your Highness out there.

MacArthur2014-01-06 22:19:23
Ramin's stuff is rather dull the only good stuff that he's done is Clash of the Titans & Iron Man (Safe House is Tolerable).

Zimmer's stuff is much better and so is Jablonsky's

Macejko2014-01-06 22:23:36
Classic Schmosby :)

Edmund Meinerts2014-01-07 01:28:34
This score has some great cues (Hope Runs Deep, Armored Prayer) and some awful ones (March of the Horde) but I do like it all in all, certainly more so than Ender's Game. Gears 3 is more consistent but less memorable, also worth a listen though (and yes, same theme).

Edmund Meinerts2014-01-07 02:28:35
Oh, and AVOID Gears of War: Judgment, whatever you do. Pure shit.

MacArthur2014-01-07 02:46:58

Hybird, is the complete score real? I'd love to listen to it (even some samples) but cannot find it anywhere....

Hope Runs Deep is epic!

Brad reply Replies: 0 || 2009-11-28 00:00:00
Ok I was listening to this score this morning and noticed something very interesting. If you listen to track 21 "With Sympathy" on the OST or to track 13 "Dom and Maria" on CD2 of the Complete Score both of those arrangements sound exactly like the song "Defeat (Theme 1)" from The Contender Promo Score. Basically, they're the same track with slightly different orchestrations again an homage to Jablonsky's work on that project.

I actually like the first soundtrack better. Its grittier,sparse has a sense of overwhelming odds and struggle about it just like the characters in the game.. This is bit too too glitzy hollywood for me.

Forteuph reply Replies: 0 || 2009-02-25 00:00:00
This music is simply epic. I highly recommend this soundtrack. Hope Runs Deep and Rolling Thunder are just two examples of how well Steve took the original theme and added new elements to the works such as the choir. This was something not found of the GoW 1 soundtrack.

highly recommended if you like steves previous works

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2008-12-17 00:00:00
heard the score and it is very good, uses maybe two or three ideas from the first ost (also good) and mixes it with his own style.

Contains a mixture of transformers, command and conquer 3, island, steamboy (only in expanded bootlegg ripped version) and other scores of his previous works. ########

I'm new to this website, but isn't it supposed to be about Hans Zimmer's music?

Why is this soundtrack, not by him, being discussed?

Can someone please explan for me?

thanks

Had a chance to hear the music, really great...a step differently taken when Steve decides to make great music for massive battles.

I have already 3 songs and this promise to be a really good and epic soundtrack.

Lot's of use of choir which makes it really emotional comparing to Kevin Riepls score for Gears 1. Comparable to D-War. His best overal work so far for me...

The score will be released November 25th and not 11th November. A little bad news.

The line between games and films has pretty much faded. Games are more cinematic than ever and demand cinematic qualities like big budget scores. Now that the software allows for full scores composers aren't limited anymore.

I agree that composers like Giacchino, Lennertz and Tilton are examples of small composers getting their start in gaming but TV is also a good starting ground for up and coming composers.

Ruthlessgravity reply Replies: 0 || 2008-10-14 00:00:00
Oohhh, I wonder how this will play out for Steve.

Wow this is great! I did not know Jablonksy was scoring this. It's great that he's working on more projects now. This soundtrack should hold me over until he comes back with Transformers 2 :D

darth_siles reply Replies: 0 || 2008-10-13 00:00:00
I really like Jablonsky's job but i hate this! And it's not because it's not good music it's just because some years ago, videogames soundtracks were a good starting point for "rookie and amateur" composers (like me). Now, the pros make this kind of soundtracks...?? and what can amateur musicians do now?? :(

me reply Replies: 0 || 2008-10-13 00:00:00
I can't wait for this soundtrack. I love [most of] Steve Jablonsky's work. His scores for D-War and Transformers are among the top in my library. The first Gears of War video game score was less than forgettable. Hopefully Jablonsky can work his magic and really make this game unforgettable. Can't wait!

Falconet From Italy reply Replies: 0 || 2008-10-10 00:00:00
i hope that Steve keep the same style of his last score as such D-War and Transformers!
