Thanks Hybrid for explaining that. Makes more sense now.Yes it is because the FYC is horrible... The OST is what Steve & co wrote. The FYC is what came out of the Music Editing Factory, which I don't dig at all. Lots of micro edits & transformations Steve probably didn't even hear... lol<br><br>Real final mixes would look like the OST, not like the FYC...You gotta realize one thing, this score is US recorded so every new 15 min of score you release, you gotta pay back reuse fees. So it's very complicated & costy and that's why they released "only" 15 min of extra score.<br><br>If it was recorded in the UK, they could have released 2 hours of bonus tracks it wouldn't have cost anything more... :)<br><br>As for a chrono order, since all cues are mixed together in different tracks in the OST, it gets complicated... me who seldom watch any of these superhero movies and remakes went and saw the new aladdin last weekend.<br><br>based on my own experience of that remake i have come to the conclusion that maybe some of the reviewers are stuck-up and not open-minded? i did enjoy the new takes on some of the songs. the new movie felt like that. a new different movie to me. <br><br>i decided that i will go and watch these movies for myself now. and i would not watch (or listen to original scores) in advance to build up expectation. i will go and enjoy my time and the songs.<br><br>that's all &#175;\_(&#12484;)_/&#175; you can't please everyone.To be honest. I love the bonus score tracks, nut those remixes are a wazte of disc soace in my opinion. It would be nice to have composers credits@DT<br>Disney definitely tries to put quality into their projects, which is why I admire them. As you’ve said, WDAS and Pixar are both churning out some excellent and original films. Even Marvel, despite its formula and flaws, tries new things with the films and stick closely to the source material. <br><br>The problem with the remakes is that they seem to be nothing more than cash-grabs that prey on nostalgia. If you are going to retell a beloved story at least try something different and exciting, instead of trying to copy/paste what everyone has seen.This is where I wish we could edit our comments.<br><br>Not only do you have WDAS doing mostly-new movies (I hesitate to say 'original') but you have Pixar doing them as well. Toy Story 4 was their last sequel for the foreseeable future, with them even eschewing the popular option of doing an Inside Out sequel for original projects.
I feel like people are overreacting in a way that suggests these remakes have far more power than they actually do. The studio that makes them is separate from every other studio. These remakes suffer from the issue of being inferior to the original source material, mainly because they rely so heavily on copying the originals so heavily. I’m not necessarily against Disney updating their classics if they are willing to do new takes on the material. Take Jungle Book for example; they were able to do something fresh with the concept while keeping elements of the animated film. Even Maleficent, which I’m not crazy about, tried something new. <br><br>Another BIG issue I’ve noticed is the fact that they lean towards hiring actors who cannot sing, or at least cannot sing on the level required. Actually Harry Gregson-Williams was offered to score the film but he had conflicts with The Prince Caspian and Ramin Djawadi was a replacement. I wonder how would Gregson-Williams do the job.

so was Djawdi never really wanted for the first iron man. since Debny, who has composed all Favreus other films is now composing the second (did he want Debny to begin with and the studio decided aginst it. Or did Djawdi just not want to come back?

I'm very glad that Ramin got this job and in my opinion he also did it well. I don't think that these kind of films need so profound approach. It's all about the fun and entertainment.

Absolutely amazing sound tracks, the sound track fits the theme and the movie's sequences of scenes. A lot of idiots have commented in here that its not good enough, some even haven't seen the damn movie, jerks.

And those who moan about a classic piece of rock and orchestral fusion have no taste for anything, bunch of tossers.

This easily one of the best scores of the year! There is no disappointment, the only disappointment is that there are a lot of hot heads and goofs who moan about it.

John Debney commented on Iron Man in his interview at http://www.scorenotes.com/

He says he was attached (and was Favreau's choice) but Marvel went with a generic MV score... as with many people he didn't like the result.

Still can't believe Djawadi got this gig :-(

Well I have to say, the movie and the score blew me away. I wasn't expecting what everyone delivered. However, even though I own the soundtrack, working with music a lot myself, I sometimes find missing pieces with movie scores. There is a lot of music in the film not found on it. Does anyone know of anything being released in the future? They market this album as a soundtrack, not a score.

The movie was great, it was touching, as you say it is was. But the score was totally repeating it's theme all through out the movie maybe not exactly during the touching parts,but I feel that if you really listen it all sounds very similar. so yeah I would have rather listened to a more in touch piece of music,than to have listen to some poor knock off of a cheese B flick from the early 00's. So logical or not, the score still sucks. and theirs nothing anybody can do about it. Except for Top Ramin noodles what ever his name is... Thanks for the reply danny boy.

Movie was excellent. Score... hmm... Hans Zimmer with Batman had more punch to it than this, so I would have to say that I'm disappointed - slightly.

I think we can safely say that things could heat up a little more for a sequel. I place my $$ on a better follow through in part II. The only problem?... will Robert Downey Jr. reprise his role or will he figure that the first time out was for an "art" expedition..?

Let's hope he and Gwenyth come back. Excellent chemistry.

Get IM to fight someone with substance... perhaps a war ridden country again but with a diabolical Marvel foe who is behind another arms type operation, which threatens the west again. Hide the foe, generate a political ally, and throw some romance into the second movie... sounds good already!

THIS score SUCKED bad. Lacked emotional content, and was really flat. Need proof listen to spider man's score, Iron man by Black Sabbath was all this movie needed, to bad we all had to wait until the end of the movie to hear a real piece music. Oh well better luck next time.
