It's nothing short of a masterpiece, a modern opera. The choir is beautiful, and the choice of gospel for the first track gives it a unique identity, though I'm not sure how well it meshes with the orchestra. It feels a bit off, but will hopefully improve for me on further listens.

The composition, has to me, elevated Powell to the status of the second best living composer (Williams is still first for now). It's pure orchestral beauty and mastery with variety of texture, color, and style, with seamless tonal transitions. The complexity rivals some of the great works of the past.

It's strange to me that this is called "choral works". Sure the choir is an important element, but it really should be named "Hubris Symphony", or "Hubris: The Opera", because that's the status the album deserves.My Attempt at a chronological order with edits (feel free to correct any mistakes or if I missed anything)

1. Rogue One is a bit of an odd one. From what I'd heard, Desplat had joined on the condition he'd be allowed to do his own thing and not ape Williams. But once they decided to overhaul the film, they pressured him to go that exact direction. Things stayed still for a while (in which he still got paid) before he was finally let go very late into production. So the idea he sorta just left is interesting, so I'm curious to hear what that was about.

For BW, it seems very likely to me that Marvel simply were unsure about Alexandre's music, so I'm guessing they hired Balfe to do some demos and decided from there. Who knows what the exact timeline is, but I'd wager it'd have to at least be this year if he's been on it a bit. Especially with AD's name having stayed on the posters during it.Hybrid, Desplat left Rogue One just for his own idea? I know he left that movie beacuse schedule conflict for the reshoots.
But for Black Widow seems that the replacement was since months ago with Lorne writing and recording the score at the same timeht tp:// filmmusicreporter. com/2020/04/01/ track-list-for-disneys-live-action-mulan -soundtrack-album-revealed/

Why release a tracklist for an album that won't be released for another 6 months at least. That's just a punch in the gut, in my opinionSo it won't be a last minute and hasty job?No idea but he was on it for a bit, I think.
Hybrid, do you know how long Lorne had to score?Score is recorded already.Yup, which makes me wonder if they had to wait before announcing it, considering Desplat was still being listed in posters prior to the delay.I think Lorne teased this some time ago by sending a picture of researching Russian music on insta (maybe)Hello,

I'm looking for the translation of the song God Yu Tekkem Laef Blong Mi in English of French.

Could anyone help me ?

Thank you !

Hi, people!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm the GREAATTTT Hitman fan and I invite russian-speaking people to our forum HitmanWorld.borda.ru

About the song "I've got you in my sights..."

I know, what is it.))
It is from little-known australian band "Empire". The song is "I'm Your Hitman".
#######
Well, also i am a great fun of Hans Zimmer and Trevor Rabin. Espesially "The Last Samurai" and "Armageddon" - awesome music.

May be, I could get a little help?))
What music was used in TV-trailers (it's not Ave Maria) and in the beginning of International Trailer?

yeah we all need the name of the song played at the end of the movie when 47 walks away... that song is awesome...

Who is the band that performed the second song in the credits? After the instrumental music at the start, a proper song plays and I can only assume it is called "Hitman" as that seems to be the one repeated word, but there are other lyrics, including "I've got you in my sights", "I've got a plan to take you down" etc.

Working at a Cinema, I have heard this song many times and quite enjoy it, and I would like to know who the band was so that I can get more of their stuff.

LOL Pete !

Powell "violated" by Zanelli ?

LOL

Zanelli was Powell's assistant for 4 years... I don't think there's any problem between them...

skeptic reply Replies: 0 || 2007-11-26 00:00:00
And another good review of the score:
"I worshipped Geoff Zanelli's energetic and uber engaging action score. Made the film feel more thrilling than it was."

skeptic reply Replies: 0 || 2007-11-26 00:00:00
From another review: "Hitman, with Geoff Zanelli's stirring musical score, nonetheless, is destined to be acclaimed the best action thrill ride of the year."

skeptic reply Replies: 0 || 2007-11-26 00:00:00
Odd quotes from the reviews Pete. Remember when Bourne first came out and everyone kept saying it sounded like Danny Elfman? I thought the score sounded interesting, and it's not like Powell was the first person to write a jittery string line for an action movie.

Pete reply Replies: 0 || 2007-11-26 00:00:00
"Composer Geoff Zanelli cuts and pastes the soundtrack from the “Bourne” films and calls it his own"

Pete reply Replies: 0 || 2007-11-26 00:00:00
"A score that Bourne composer John Powell should consider suing for violating his movie music copyright."

When is the soundtrack due out? I can't find any info at all about the possible release date, I live in the UK BTW.

Kaya reply Replies: 0 || 2007-11-24 00:00:00
Wait, so the release date was pushed back? Cause Amazon said my CD was supposed to ship Nov 20th then delayed the order. Best Buy had the same release date too. Was it delayed at the last minute?
