The Nils Frahm track was released years agoNo one is mentioning "Says" from Nils Frahm. What a masterpiece of music. Love how it develops and getting so emotional even with that futuristic sound-effect. One of the highlights of this score, with those tracks Cerbei mentioned.Balfe is a great arranger but an even better composer.Beyond Two Souls is still one of the best game soundtracks.

I must have watched another movie in regards to Balfe filling in the gaps - that makes no sense?The soundtrack released seems not to relate to what was actually used in the film.Balfe “gap” music is featured much more and works brilliantly
Last night I was talking to Lorne, and he told me that in principle there is intention to release the full score.
I'd be very interested to hear the supposed Balfe complete score to picture where he apparently sought to elevate it, as someone here put it. The Richter is pitch-perfect and works massively well to picture and, not dissing Balfe at all, his stuff is literally 'additional music' to fill the gaps.Aplusle, that's really well put actually.Don't feel bad. You've just summed up why Hans and Lorne make a good team. Lorne is by all accounts a fantastic arranger and can bring out the best in others' ideas but I sometimes find his own compositions are a bit basic or leave me cold. Hans on the other hand always nails the theme and the concept but his scoring to picture to me feels clunky and a bit amateurish, especially when the music is dense.

Both super talented in their own ways. :-)Is there anyway o get sheet music for Into the pie machine for orchestra?Just saw Maleficent 2. There is a lot more Newton Howard in the movoe than there is on album.
I actually can't really understand why they didn't include the reprise of The Christening (the dinner scene) & the finale in the movie.

Zanelli's score is wonderful and I love it very much. But would have loved this on album
I can't imagine how someone likes Balfe's part over Richters. As you said Thomas, Richters work sounds more like suites, and Balfes work is written more to picture. BUT, it sounds to me also like a typical RCP-work with Hans. While Hans gives the direction with his suites and melodies, Balfe and co are adapting those suites to the specific scenes and writing some "new" stuff to fill any gap if there is any need of it, so they become additional composers in the credits.

And here, we have the same. Richter shows the direction and some cues are real intense and beautiful. Balfes parts sounding like a gap-filler. I don't want to talk bad about Balfe, he's a composing machine, but still i can't find anything remarkable on those parts and so i can't understand how Richters work hasn't been used but instead the more colorless cues from Balfes part :/

Again, don't feel insulted guys, it's just my sensationBalfe’s part is the best I think.
It also seems written to picture instead of just long suites.
My understanding is the Balfe wrote half of the score but the album doesn’t seem to represent that for some reason.I really liked Richter’s score over balfesI listened Max Richter for years. He is the kind of select or minority composer who does his solo works and soundtrack for movies not so famous.
His solo works are really really good with quintet and piano and voice. "on the nature of daylight" is definitely the best.
His sountrack is not good as his solo, to be honest. I think "the Leftovers" (2014-2017, HBO series), "Miss Slaone" (2016) and "Mary Queen of Scots" (2019) are cool.
If you need some peaceful music for meditation or good sleep, listen to his work.Richter did his recording in january and june 2019. The Director himself is a fan of Richter, so the deadline and director are not the reason.
It seemed that producers were not satisfied with Richter's music and they wanted something new, that's why they got Lorne. It turned out Lorne brought a very limited new...
@Cercei
Hybrid can definitely answer that best. Richter’s score is used (alongside Balfe’s material) as well as some source pieces. If I remember correctly it’s a mish-mash of the two.I do know that piece, it’s very pretty. I’ll check out his other works, thanks for the recommendation. In terms of minimalism I really am into Brian Eno at the moment. His “Music For Airports” and “The Lovely Bones” are excellent if you like more introspective music.btw, you're saying Lorne recomposed and reworked the entire score. as i haven't seen the movie yet, did the producers end up with not using richters score for it at all and just used the score from Lorne?thanks for your information. but i actually don't understand why they have done that. i've heard now Lornes cues and Richters cues. all those cues from Lorne, they sound very similiar to that what Richter composed, but somehow with less melodies. And you really have to work hard to not use fewer melodies then Richter, as he's a minimalist at its best ^^ with that being said, i can't hear any groundbreaking differences from Lornes part, so what was their idea on hiring it and getting the same style of music, but in a more "light" version? :/i really admire Max Richters work, he isn't that new in this scene. his style is that repeating minimalism. maybe you've heard once the cue "on the nature of daylight" which was used a lot by many other movies. his last score which knocked me out was "Hostiles". such an emotional and intense score, you need to hear that, and probably see the movie as well (with Christian Bale).

Hi, I got this new version with 72 tracks also and the unreleased material is simply awesome - can't talk more better than Westfall about that, I really hope the "Powers" will make the score in his complete form available for all in the future

westfall reply Replies: 0 || 2009-11-09 00:00:00
And awesome they are. Thanks to a trully generous fellow member of a certain forum i usually visit, i finally got the full score, including the unused pieces. When i eard the full 8m17s of the full version of "Arrival to Earth" i admit i was on the verge of tears. The unreleased tracks include the afore mentioned "Arrival to Earth (Full Version)", "Sam's Theme (not Sam at the Lake, this is different and actually in the movie), "Tense Action" (the much sought after cue wich plays after "My Ladies" while Blackout lands, also used in the Main Menu of the Bonus DVD of the movie), "Battle" (The track refered previously as "Stonker"), the already available "Megatron Awakens (Unused)", etc.
The previously unavailable tracks (unused, alternate and demos) make up a total of 50m23s of new music out of a total running time of 2h37m03s, across 2 CDs and 72 tracks. As far as i can tell the only thing missing here, besides the kitchen sink, is the small cue eard right after "Autobots" and the movie title, otherwise known as "Qatar". Other than that (and no, the sped up version of Scorponok eard in the road meeting scene doesn't count).
This is truly a happy day for me and, if not for the fact that it would probably cause my post to be erased (if it's not already running that risk, by now) i would gladly post the link to the forums where i found this. But since that is not allowed, i'll leave it at that.

Also, on a different subject, for those who have followed my thread on the forum, i'll be making a major adjustment to my list of music of "Revenge of The Fallen" in the next few days.

And the awe inpiring comes from some of them being truly AWESOME.

@shadowsong

I guess you're right, but besides the "i don't have it" factor, fact is it's been 2 years since the score was released and since then the only actual piece of music that was released was "Megatron Awakens".

When the CD came out, there was talk of releasing a 2 CD edition with, presumably, all the music, if sales of the score were good. The CD sold out, it was a success and... nothing. Don't get me wrong, i bought the CD (2 copies, actually) and if given the chance to buy this material, i would. But as with most scores out there, if you love a certain piece of music you have to resort to bootlegs and downloads because the studios just don't publish them. The publishers should just create sites to sell these things on the web. Give the consumer what they want. I would pay for it and i'm sure many here would too.

@Adrian
I have that youtube clip, i love any of those cues, the "Autobots" variant is awesome, but the real crown jewel wich isn't in the clip is the long (or alternate) version of "Arrival to Earth". Listening to a non vocal (ie. LQ) rip from the DVD featurette of the missin section of that one, right now.

Shadowsong reply Replies: 0 || 2009-11-07 00:00:00
It's always "awe inspiring music" when you're looking for it (i.e. don't have it).
Just wait a bit longer. It will find its way to the net just like the other versions did.

Did you see the video that was posted on youtube, with a sneakpeek for the unreleased music? ''Stonker'' is truly amazing.

What do you all think is the best unreleased track ?
I find Camaro on the Run by far, the best unreleased track :-)

Some time ago the wiki page said there would be a complete score sometime and was already in the works. Anyone know if this is really going to happen, since it isn't on the wiki page anymore... ?

This "Mr." James Mates, for someone so highly regarded and famous and so "I win 200.000 and you don't!!!", seems to be as anonimous as any of us low-lifes that came to this forum because we enjoyed Mr. (without "", because he is worthy of respect) Jablonsky's music. I haven't found a single reference of this "prince amoung men" anywhere. But quite frankly, even if you are all you claim to be,then you are one of those guys that give people in that kind of position a bad name. Who the hell are you to give judgement on ANYBODY? Just because you "make more money" or "have connections",you think you're better than anyone? Get off your high horse and try not being a snob a**-hole. As for all the others in this forum, just stop replying to his posts. You're just giving him more importance than he's worth and feeding his delusions of grandeur. He's a sad little boy that is surely over-compensating for something. Stick to the subject, Mr. Jablonsky's magnificent score.

All, sorry for my delay. I have just come back from a filming project in Tuscany where I have been literally busy every minute of the day. Being such a famous person as myself means I get very little free time, I do hope you people appreciate that.

With that out of the way, I would like to write to the most recent poster: Eliseo.

Dearest Eliseo,

I have just had one of my PAs translate your European-language text for me and I am pleased to find you are not asking for the soundtrack. However I am troubled by your implication that you do already have the sound track.

I would just like you to know that it is NOT this very rare and exclusive sound track that you have been listening to; rather, it is the released sound track which contains a FRACTION of the cues that appear in the film.

I am sorry to have to tell you that, with the exception of a very few privileged people such as myself, it is NOT possible to get hold of such a soundtrack. You must work in the industry or know Steve (as I do) to have a hope of getting such CDs. This is why the likes of Anthony, Cloud etc have got so upset - because they are not as important as I am and have not got the connections with the producers, composers etc. that I talk to on a daily basis due to my professional business in this field.

Please understand that I am very busy, so although I would like to help you on your quest, I cannot say more than I just have. Also, I would not be able to even if I were not so busy, as I have established a real trust with many of the artists who have helped me over the years. I do give tracks to a number of people, with my friend who posted earlier here (forgotten his name) being a prime example. And it is evident that those who have the sound track get lynched for it due to its exceedingly high popularity.

Let me make one thing perfectly clear.

YOU WILL NOT GET A SOUND TRACK YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO, AND HARRASSING MY FRIENDS AS YOU HAVE DONE WILL NOT GET YOU ANY FURTHER, IN FACT IT WILL JUST END UP WITH MY LAWYERS COMING DOWN ON YOU LIKE A TON OF BRICKS.

They have actaully been begging me to take action against you and I have had to tell them to cool down because I believe Cloud, Anthony, Reity etc are all good people who just wnat something they can't have. But the moment that line is crossed, believe you me, the gloves come off. And you don't want to tangle with me. I know people.

Must dash... I have a private jet to hop into to get back to my film set.

With regards,

James Mates
