Dunno if this is a troll post or a legit one... but I do agree to an extent. Both Mortal Engines and Alita show a HUGE improvement in Tom’s compositional technique, regardless of Conrad Pope’s contribution (which I’m sure still has something to do with it.)

I actually enjoy his early works (300, Point Break, Run All Night, Divergent) but you can definitely hear the vast difference in quality over time, and as Tom grows as a composer I’m sure his future scores will be the same way.5 years and it sounds like a blend of bvs and fury road. both of which come after it.Woah, this sounds outdated already, like a bad 90s video game. For the record, it was composed 4 years ago. This fetishization of technology over compositional technique is absolutely ridiculous.

Now, Tom has seen the errors of his ways and hired some actual orchestrators (not the RCP clown bunch) and Mortal Engines and Battle Angel Alita are actually excellent scores. They show that he masters compositional technique to the hilt. This early stuff - I suspect it will be buried soon.
Richter is a conceptual artist, I love his Leftovers score, but come one, scoring to picture ?

He writes pieces that are used in scenes, not the other way around...

Richter scoring a moon buggy chase ? Hell no... lol you could see from day one it was gonna be replaced...^ Yeah the edit floating around matches Felix’s almost to a T. Only major difference is

“Our Final Stand - Showdown - United Greece - Finale”

Which is broken up into four separate cues. Realistically you could edit it anyway you want if you prefer the smaller cues. Personally, I like the long suite-like format of this release. Kinda like the album release for “Event Horizon” lol.
I hope they at least release Richter's score.My Edit:

01. Rise Of An Empire - Marathon - King Darius - Artemisia - Man To God - War (13:36)
=

M1A Rise of An Empire (09:48)
M1B From Man to God King (03:44)

02. Hybrid can you tell us what album cues are the suites ?!well, from what Lorne wrote on Twitter, it should be releasedCool thanks for getting back! I am still a little bit confused though. Do any Basil Poledouris cues go somewhere in that list? It’s been a very very long time since I have seen the film.The Hans cues used are :

1M1 OPENING CREDITS / MAIN TITLE (USED FROM 2:18 TO 3:03)
1M2 GOLDEN STAIRCASE (USED FROM 0:00 TO 1:56)
2M2 JACK SEES WOLVES
2M3 BLACK WOLF
2M6 THE TREK CONTINUES (USED FROM 0:28 TO 1:15)
3M1 THIN ICE
3M2 SKUNKER'S DEATH
3M3 FULL MOON WOLF ATTACK
3M3A MORNING WOLF ATTACK
6M4 THE BEAR
6M4A THE BEAR ATTACK
7M3 IN THE STABLE
7M5 WHITE FANG FIGHTS SATAN
8M1 FIGHT MONTAGE (FIRST HALF USED)
8M3 PIT FIGHT (FINAL 20 SEC USED)

All the rest, by definition, is Basil's score...Hey hybrid soldier! You mentioned on the ghost in the shell page about white fang so I came here! Can you give us a list of the cues as they appear in the film please? The Basil Poledouris cues and the Hans Zimmer cues please
I imagined it ... hopefully this time Max Ritcher does not give him a lollipop and refuses to launch his musicYes Unbreakable.

Exactly like White Fang. Have Poledouris write a score, then HZ do another, then pick what you want from both.

Ghost In The Shell was kinda different...In the credits of the movie, Max Ritcher appears as the Main Composer, meanwhile, Lorne appears as Additional MusicI find that it would be best to accredit both and launch the two soundtracks and all happy.Hybrid implies that Max Ritcher's score was rejected, and that Lorne made a new one and in the end, the best of both has been used. I am right?

I'm addicted to "The Control Node" track. I don't just praise stuff left and right, but this is, in my opinion, one of the best tracks...ever. I'm not kidding. It's absolutely incredible. Very atmospheric, very industrial, very epic. Give it a listen!

Edmund Meinerts2017-06-30 02:11:27
I just did and I must say I didn't think it was anything special. But I know how sometimes an atmospheric track can just grab you in a particular way... :)

Bayhem2017-06-30 09:50:58
Edmund, that is exactly the case. It really grabbed me. I guess now I'm more in a mood for industrial-type scores. And this atmospheric track - though quite short - really gives you a very distinctive industrial/apocalyptic feel. Steve should've used in Transformers... :)

Steve Jablonsky is awesome but this is like Jennifer's Body and Jonah Hex music for Jablonsky style.

After hearing Trevor Morris' standalone score to ARMY OF TWO, it now sounds like a huge majority of C&C: Tiberium Wars was scored by Trevor Morris. I'm beginning to think he's responsible for some of the best tracks in Bad Boys 2 and The Island...

Hybrid Soldier reply Replies: 0 || 2007-06-18 00:00:00
I listened to it yesterday... There's good action cues, but unfortunately, no really big theme...

Antas, there's another video game which is missing here : the great Need for Speed : Carbon by Trevor Morris... ;-)

matteo from italy reply Replies: 0 || 2007-06-18 00:00:00
Hybrid Soldier and there's another video game score that missing here
Need For Speed Most Wanted by Paul Linford :-P
it's a nice score!

Anthony reply Replies: 0 || 2007-06-18 00:00:00
I'm pretty sure this is an iTunes exclusive, not a promo.

Hybrid Soldier reply Replies: 0 || 2007-06-18 00:00:00
Yes matteo but Linford isn't a MV, he is Trevor Rabin's ghost...

AAnd Anthony, you're right ! ;-)

Cloud reply Replies: 0 || 2007-06-18 00:00:00
It's not an iTunes exclusive, it's a fanmade version. In other words, extracted audio from the game.

Project_Z reply Replies: 0 || 2007-06-18 00:00:00
Yes, this one has another tracklist than the iTunes version

Hybrid Soldier reply Replies: 0 || 2007-06-18 00:00:00
Oh yeah !

The iTune has 38 tracks...

Er Compatto reply Replies: 0 || 2007-06-18 00:00:00
Trevor Rabin is not a RC composer but here you can find his scores, so it should be right put also Need for Speed: Most Wanted by Paul Linford

Hybrid Soldier reply Replies: 0 || 2007-06-18 00:00:00
Rabin isn't here anymore... His page is not deleted, but it's never updated... :S

;-)

Trevor asked us to not appear on the site anymore. That's the reason we have removed all the links about him & his work.

You have to appreciate the new music technology and all the electronic MIDI sounds today has to offer. It really adds to the toolbox of composers and makes for an amazing array of new music. This for sure is on my list to buy!

Sylvos reply Replies: 0 || 2007-06-17 00:00:00
Now this is something I never would have thought as a promotional release but it arrived somehow. Nice to see some demo cues included and the tracklisting is by far better than the iTunes release.
Some tracks titles sound like cinematic cut-scene cues, i.e. "Death Of G.D.S.S. Philadelphia", "Ascension", etc. But I don't remember any music used for the cinematic parts... Are they just names or they were really some sort of cinematic music that did not made it to the final product?
