What about his last cover of "Wicked Games"? What a great surprise! Actually, all the themes are being updated every week. Ramin's stealing the show again!Greetings! I have a question regarding the placement of certain cues. Here, "Mycroft Is Nude" is placed where it plays in the film. However, on the sheets, it's shown as being after "Paris Bombing Investigation." Was the scene originally supposed to be later in the film? I'd be curious to know.just beautifulThis is a whole new side of his music as compared to what we normally hear.Black Widow has been moved to Nov. 6th, so we'll het Balfe's sckre at the end of the year.

Mulan has been moved to July 24th.

This is a highly underrated album. It's nothing short of a masterpiece, a modern opera. The choir is beautiful, and the choice of gospel for the first track gives it a unique identity, though I'm not sure how well it meshes with the orchestra. It feels a bit off, but will hopefully improve for me on further listens.

The composition, has to me, elevated Powell to the status of the second best living composer (Williams is still first for now). It's pure orchestral beauty and mastery with variety of texture, color, and style, with seamless tonal transitions. The complexity rivals some of the great works of the past.

It's strange to me that this is called "choral works". Sure the choir is an important element, but it really should be named "Hubris Symphony", or "Hubris: The Opera", because that's the status the album deserves.My Attempt at a chronological order with edits (feel free to correct any mistakes or if I missed anything)

1. Change Of Plan (Unused) (5:47)Rogue One is a bit of an odd one. From what I'd heard, Desplat had joined on the condition he'd be allowed to do his own thing and not ape Williams. But once they decided to overhaul the film, they pressured him to go that exact direction. Things stayed still for a while (in which he still got paid) before he was finally let go very late into production. So the idea he sorta just left is interesting, so I'm curious to hear what that was about.

For BW, it seems very likely to me that Marvel simply were unsure about Alexandre's music, so I'm guessing they hired Balfe to do some demos and decided from there. Who knows what the exact timeline is, but I'd wager it'd have to at least be this year if he's been on it a bit. Especially with AD's name having stayed on the posters during it.Hybrid, Desplat left Rogue One just for his own idea? I know he left that movie beacuse schedule conflict for the reshoots.
But for Black Widow seems that the replacement was since months ago with Lorne writing and recording the score at the same timeht tp:// filmmusicreporter. com/2020/04/01/ track-list-for-disneys-live-action-mulan -soundtrack-album-revealed/

Why release a tracklist for an album that won't be released for another 6 months at least. That's just a punch in the gut, in my opinion
So it won't be a last minute and hasty job?No idea but he was on it for a bit, I think.Hybrid, do you know how long Lorne had to score?Score is recorded already.Yup, which makes me wonder if they had to wait before announcing it, considering Desplat was still being listed in posters prior to the delay.

I'm surprised that nobody added 4 or 5 "original suites" made by fans with edited older material to add 15 to 25 minutes in order to claim "I have even more music !! look at my suites !!"

We'll eventually have 17 different versions from the same score, like Pearl Harbor, Face/Off or Black Hawk Down... Please, stick with the "normal" recording sessions. If you wanna make your own version, that's your right, but please do not try to share/trade it on the net !

Rubascubas reply Replies: 0 || 2007-06-12 00:00:00
I have the 108 track Complete Recording Sessions but it definitely is not 3 cds long... the total amount of music is like 254 minutes... Although some of the music comes from the Official Release... Anyway, fanmade or not, I liked it...

axel reply Replies: 0 || 2007-06-12 00:00:00
254 minutes !!!! It means that there are almost 100 minutes more !!!! I think, even if there are some useless tracks like "unused trailer music", it's a better version !!!!!

axel reply Replies: 0 || 2007-06-12 00:00:00
And why not ??? Some people can be satisfied by other versions more complete !!!! Nobody obliges anyone with getting this score !!!! Not interested in ? Ok, but let the others benefit from it !!

Mr Tweedy reply Replies: 0 || 2007-06-12 00:00:00
Axel, you got us wrong.
We're not saying "more music" isn't great. But people claiming they have "even more music", but the only new featured stuffs are only "trailer music" (which you can find on other albums) or "fanmade suites" (which doesn't contain any new material but just edited versions of previous released stuff) is getting pretty annoying !

The "original" recording sessions is nearly 3 hours long, and already has much more music than what you can hear in the movie. What's the point in adding cues twice or adding cues not even from the original score in order to add... an extra hour??

More music is great, but only when the "more" includes music COMPOSED for the MOVIE.

Dawn reply Replies: 0 || 2007-06-12 00:00:00
Let's add cues from Chicken Run, Narnia and Armageddon and tell you have a 5CD version with bonus tracks ! :-P

fs reply Replies: 0 || 2007-06-11 00:00:00
@Pet & Hybrid Soldier: You are right !

i also hate those fanmade "ultimate more deluxe editions" ... and those unused trailer music tracks -> lol

Hybrid Soldier reply Replies: 0 || 2007-06-11 00:00:00
Yeah this is like "I want more and more tracks" just to show that you have more and more tracks...

Even if it has nothing to do with the score...

axel reply Replies: 0 || 2007-06-11 00:00:00
Lot of peoples care about it !!!! Like me, for example !!!

Hybrid Soldier reply Replies: 0 || 2007-06-11 00:00:00
You are completely right Per !

That's enough with these bad "expanded completes"...

Who cares about "unused trailer music" ? LOL

And tracks like Balansiya or Epitaph... °_°

wonder how much of the new stuff is the 'additional music' whatever that means

Per reply Replies: 0 || 2007-06-10 00:00:00
Actually, you don't have to be very clever to understand that, just by comparing tracktitles, that this 'more complete recording sessions...' is probably just something like this:

- The extra alternates is most likely just the soundtrack versions, which again are most likely edits from the original recordings (which is already included on this 3 cd version)

- It seems like the unoriginal !! music used in the film are added too, which of course have nothing to do with Harry Gregson-Williams and his score !

- The 'trailer music' tracks, which also, again, have nothing really to do with Harry Gregson-Williams, and his score !

No track lengths are mentioned on this socalled longer version, so i'm just assuming this from the track names mentioned. But if you sum up all of this i mentioned, and take it away, i think you end up not far from the 'original' version listed above !

(And it's something similar for the Pearl Harbor 2CD version too !)

Okay, this is a total noob question, I know. But it seems like those CDs are not official releases - and you can't buy them anywhere. I can't even find the normal Catwoman soundtrack. Arethese fanmade projects? Or japanese versions? A little help would be appreciated.

I just want to give some informations about this one...

I took my DVD, as usual, to verify the order of this one...

It was really difficult, because the score was cut a lot of time in the film, with temp-tracks of other composers (Goldsmith, Revell etc...) so cues in the film are really different (which not mean that there's new work in the film ;-))...

But as I noticed, this is in correct order, just put the alternates tracks at the end...

And I also noticel some differences in the cues used in the film :

-The Swordplay used in the film is the Alternate 2
-The Battle of Kerak used in the film is the Alternate 1
-And the 2nd Day of War used in the film is the Alternate

All with littles differences due to the editing...
;-)

My only complaint about it is that it has some noises here and there. It would have been perfect without those problems ! :'-(
