Someone brought to my attention today that track 7, Charmed and Dangerous, has James Horner's well-known four-note-danger-motif trademark. It is played 3 or 4 times starting from 0:34!
So Shrek The Third was not bad after all. I totally enjoyed this CD though it was more Narnia influneced than Shrek-ish. Can't call it a conclusion to a trilogy though... Right now it's confirmed that there are two more Shrek films on the way... Hoooolly CGI!
Hmm, Im trying to think if this cd is worth buying. Most of the great themes are found on the first movie soundtrack... I really dont think anything new stood out to me. What do you guys think?
I pretty much agree with you Han. I heard Harry talk about how a lot of the temp music (which was from Shrek 1 & 2) for the movie fitted perfectly so he just had some pieces reorchestrated.
And after seeing the movie, it's pretty obvious which bits of music these are.
I'll probably get this, but I'm just expecting a re-hash of the first two.
