For the hardcore Zimmer fans who don't own the Vista Series DVD edition of "Pearl Harbor", here's a piece from Hans's audio commentary for the movie:

Very nice. I just wish I can track down that clanging insert to complete edit of the sessions.
Does anyone know where it comes from? Was it tracked? Is it from another film? I even wondered if it came from The Last Samurai...

Sorry if I'm missing something, but what do you mean by "clanging insert"?

In that clip you shared, you hear the end of Crashlanding aka Brave Men. Then you hear some Bay microedits from various other places. Then there ia a metallic clanging percussion before segueing into Heart of a Volunteer that is nowhere available in the sessions.
Any ideas?

Aha, I see. Now I know what you mean. The part with the Japanese soldiers screaming and pointing their weapons at Affleck and his crew.....I think I've heard this piece as part of one of the score releases. Unfortunately, I don't have the mp3 files anymore and can't recall the name of the track. But I clearly remember hearing that metallic percussion in one of the tracks from the expanded score. It was a few years back though.....
I'll have to do some digging....

Unfortunately, the "clanging insert" isn't available anywhere on the album / expanded score or complete score. Probably a late minute addition !
How do I get the music score for "And Then I Kissed Him?" My daughter is getting married in July 2017 and wants to come down the aisle to this song with piano, cello, violin - and/or string quartet.

You mean you need the actual notes, or just a permission....Anyway, wedding is a family event, so at the end of the day I don't think it would be a problem for the musicians there to play that music live. As long as it's not used as a promotional wedding video on YouTube, I don't think it would be an issue. Or....you can just play it on really loud speakers. Not the same thing as a live performance, I know, but worst case scenario, that's what you gotta do :)

Yes, this is only an expanded version, but this is a great one (finally) ! The other versions were badly made from DVD Isolated score + official score, at least this one is in complete CD-audio quality, with plenty of new music. There are some cues missing, but if you add "december 7th" and "heart of volunteer" from official CD, you almost have the complete score.
Anybody noticed how weak the action cues sound ? The orchestra seems bored, this is pretty incredible. Nice romantic and dramatic music, but such a weak action score...

Hi all I want is one track. A classical section not from hans it was nicked for the floating dead and flag recovery scene. Not on any CD official, unofficial or just plain junk, what was it, any one with classical knowledge out there? Thanks

Orkney darkdragon --> try to read the endcredits of the movie. If they used a piece of classical music, or any music not composed for the film, its credited at the end.

Orkney : do you mean the scene when Red nears, crying for Betty ? After the attack and before the doolittle's mission ?

Anyone know where can I download this score? I tried digging around the net searching for a download link. But all I could find was just dead links and bad bootlegs. Thanks
Oh good grief, yet another list of an alleged (and of course, unofficial) "complete" score that we will never see, hear or be able to buy. WHAT IS YOUR POINT??

What's yours? It's for archival purposes. Besides, if there's one thing I've learned, it's never say "never" when it comes to complete scores, particularly MV/RC ones.

This too was leaked forever ago. If you want it, go get it. Otherwise, screw off.
Thanks for this and Prince of Egypt...Unfortunately my playlists for both scores look very different. I don't know if it's combined tracks, or missing tracks, or what...So I still don't know what to credit to who!
What I have looks more like TurtlePower's playlist just below...but even that is a little different. Aren't "unofficial releases" fun? :/ :p

I didn't know Zimmer was involved with There You'll Be. Why wasn't he officially credited? He would have had another Oscar nom to his resume if he had been.
Did Zanelli do the Japan Theme by himself or was it based on one of Zimmer's theme suites?
No, it is not new. If you scroll down a little bit, you'll see posts that date back to 2008. Why don't you check with those people to see if it is real?

If you look at the track list on the website...it's a new one !!! Before that, the HZ-website presented a [complete score - No SFX] with 2CD...Not 3!(and an other cover front) Now, this page concerning Pearl Harbor has been updated ! I don't know when, but it was...
I know the 3-CD track list on the last post... I posted it !
So...I'm still waiting for this new Complete edition...
I have the version that was recently uploaded and if it's a fake, then it's a darn good one. There has been no flaws and no blatant transitions that would suggest a fan-edit. I don't get what the griping is about. As far as I'm concerned we have a legit expanded soundtrack, which is always something to be grateful for.
Wonderful as always, and so etimoonal and beautiful! I haven't seen Pearl Harbor for a while, but it's one of my favorite movies, so now I really just want to watch it!!! sad but its a happy ending thank you Hawaii61767 for posting this instrumental only it makes me feel relax at the sametime reminism my past

Are... you... kidding ? It's screaming "FANMAAAAADE !!!!" It's basically the expanded score with somme DVD-ripped cues added (you can still see the * at the end of the tracks that contain SFX) and songs and sh*t added ("End Credits Alternate", oh please...). Even the long-time-proved-fake Jablonsky demos are here... again.
And suites that are 34 and 45 minutes long...?! How could someone believe this is actually REAL ? :S

Hi, jordy11, these CD be bootlegs and cannot therefore be bought. You will have to hunt around the internet for a short time before you find what you seek. Besides, there are bajillions of expanded scores for Pearl Harbor out there. It should not be too hard to find.

The REAL Pearl Harbor exists only among the elitists. I have seen a cue sheet with slates. This was years ago though, I barely remember
Axel, I really don't see the point in having a Pearl Harbor 3CDs or 4CDs where you add SFX versions of some cues (Empty Tanks - Pinned Down...), and non-original songs you barely hear in the movie (Hilo March...)... People still continue to amaze me ! I recommend any smart people to stick to the actual 2CD bootleg, adding the missing cues from the official release and DVD isolated cues, this makes a strong 120minutes or so of good, SFX free original score ! :P

You think Go Fuck Off would be an appropriate reply to your post? :)
As you might have already noticed, this web site is mainly dedicated to the music of one one person - a certain man with name Hans Zimmer (even though the rest of the RCP/MV composers are a topic as well) - therefore, people interested in his music are coming here to discuss it. Now there's absoutely nothing wrong with not liking the Pearl Harbor score, that's completely up to you and it's fine if you let us know about your reasons. Thing is - nobody gives a flying fuck about your Goldsmith comparisons whatsoever. I kinda doubt Tora! Tora! Tora! and Pearl Harbor are very similar films anyway (probably for the reasons you listed, although I'm not sure if there was really as much sex in the film as you're saying there was - but maybe this is just a subjective issue and if you're living in the woods, waiting for a virgin to come to visit you every ten years, I can grasp why the amount of sex in this film which I - for other reasons - don't like much as well is pretty much an overkill to you).
You wanna advertise Goldsmith? That's ok, go to the forums and create your Goldsmith thread. Don't do it here. Wrong place. Hush hush.
I liked Jerry Goldsmith's work for "Tora! Tora! Tora!" better. This music doesn't sound if Hans Zimmer and his five (!!!) co-composers were very motified. The theme for the japanese sounds very pseudy-ethnic. Goldsmith wrote a very great theme for the japanese military.
"Pearl Harbor" wasn't also as good as "Tora! Tora! Tora!". It was just another Jerry-Bruckheimer-production with a lot of explosions, sex and Michael-Bay-videoclip-like-camera and cuts. "Pearl Harbor" is just another patriotic epos which tells anything about Nagasaki and Hiroshima. "Tora! Tora! Tora!" told the story from both points of view and was more abjective.
I think Hans Zimmer and his team wrote the music just because they got good money because I can't imagine any reason than this. Don't start hunting for this bootleg or other "Pearl Harbor"-releases. It would be better if you try to get hand on a copy of the FSM "Tora! Tora! Tora!"-album which is limited to 3000 copies so hurry on, it will be sold ou soon.

PS: The "Tora! Tora! Tora!"-CD is a complete release of Goldsmith's brilliant score with all the music composed for the film and including every source music. Good luck!
This is not the complete score. It´s an expanded score nearly to the complete score. Why? Here are the reasons: The movie is over 3 hrs and this expanded edition has only 1 hr and 35 minutes. Also in the official release the tracks December 7th and Heart of a volunteer are not included in this expanded score. Also, there are variations in many tracks between the expanded bootlegs and this new version. And for the last, the track Courage, included in many bootlegs, is a track with sfx, and in this new version is not included, which is not posible, because this Track is the ending of the track airborne in many bootlegs or called air battle in this new version. I think, we have to wait the complete score with the recording sessions, because in many bootlegs one we can find many changes in one track. For example: Check the track Dorie The Hero, but download the version of the different bootlegs and this version and you will now what i mean. Please, i pray, remote control productions and mr. Zimmer, launch the complete score with the recording sessions.
It's a complete score. Usually track names are changed or altered in bootleg versions. I just got this so I haven't had time to listen to it all, but I'm sure those tracks are somewhere in there.
I also just realized I have more than this track listing. I'm pretty sure I have what Axel listed a couple posts below, which is 54 tracks.
The cover art here is aweful, so I'm gonna have to do something about that.
