I actually don't know which I prefer. I guess nostalgia might be clouding my judgement, since the album version was the one used on the DVD menu. Both are still pretty good, nonetheless.Yeah no contest IMO, it's much more dynamic and more "Powell-y" compared to that Superman-style rhythm he uses in the album version and elsewhere in the score. Must have been a hasty last-minute redo or something to not show up on the album.The films Powell is currently choosing allow him to write much more interesting music than your average Marvel movie... ;)

Excited for Call of the Wild in a few weeks.Does anyone know what the correct chronological tracklist for this would be?Honestly, i think i will be that few people who likes Lights Out. But his best horror score is A Cure for Wellness
Thatís a cool choice, Iím hoping for something more like ďItĒ and less like ďLightís OutĒ.Wallfisch has compose the score for The Invisible Man, another horror score for the best guy today for the jobPowell has his personal reasons, but I sincerely hope he comes around to do another superhero score again, especially for MARVEL since his style isnít fit for the likes of DC as of now.I like the film version of Bathroom Titles better.LOL!

He has had some experience with animated projects, Iím interested to hear him do more diverse projects like that.
I will never understand when people can't stand people opinions and 'attack' them.

If some loves Trent Reznor (i hate the guy's music), is his opinion and i no one to say nothing about it.Bring on the remixes!LOL!!! You have no idea about film music
====================

It's his opinion, my friend.

And his opinion is equally as valid as the opinion of someone who thinks this score is the worst crap ever. Why? Because when it comes to appreciating art (movies, books, music...) it is all completely subjective.

I always use this example: I have two friends - educated, family men - who have seen The Godfather. One of them thinks it's one of the greatest movies ever, while the other one barely finished watching it.

At the end of the day, just because a group of people (film critics, film buffs, etc) proclaim that something is "good" or "bad" doesn't mean that it's automatically a holy statement that everyone should agree with.

We are all different :)

Cheers!Judging by the clips of this movie, it will be a good choice.

I can't wait for this one, after seeing those clipsAccording to Film Music Reporter, Tom is also scoring Scoob!
MMichaels LOL!!! You have no idea about film musicFantastic score by Balfe.Best action score writer to come from RCP since Powell for sure .It hits all the same notes you would expect out of a feel good sports movie, but the performances and real life story really add a lot to it, as does Rabinís score.
=======================

Well said!

Agreed.I've demanded for it to be removed a long time ago... Maybe in 10 years, who knows...RIP to a legend....

Just rewatched Coach Carter a few weeks back. It hits all the same notes you would expect out of a feel good sports movie, but the performances and real life story really add a lot to it, as does Rabinís score.

How does "The Eggs Hatch" have "vocalists"?

I just listened to this one again, I didn't remember it was such a great score ! A really wonderful work from Powell, makes me even more impatient (if possible) about his return.

I like it!! One of the most variation soundtrack. The bests songs are "Fish" (with a small variation of love, funny and attack themes), "Leopard Seal" (with a forth begin and chase theme), "Bob's Led" (for a funny song), "The Hill" (I like it the 0:57 minute), "Fun Food Storm" (a great song, with a small variates themes), "Killer Whales" (a song which demostrate the attack) and "The Alien Ships" (with a small theme of adventure and heroica act). John Powell's Alive!!

This score is absolutley great! especially track one rocks! I love that 600+ choir. I never heard such a complete score that is this beautiful!

Hybrid Soldier reply Replies: 0 || 2006-12-26 00:00:00
John, the film is about 1h45...

The score is (actually) 67 minutes, plus 4 or 5 songs (from the other CD) in the film...

I think, no I'm sure it's a complete score...

We have chance with Powell !

Anthony reply Replies: 0 || 2006-12-26 00:00:00
As my review states, this is a "complete" score.

"I say "complete" as there are 3 types of music in the film - pop songs, the actual score, and little bits of music that join the two together. It's the latter that isn't featured on either album, but why would it be? As for the score we do have, it's considerably more than heard in the film as a substantial amount has been cut out."

John reply Replies: 0 || 2006-12-25 00:00:00
Is this the Complete Score or are there some missing-cues?

Anthony reply Replies: 0 || 2006-12-24 00:00:00
How good does that electric guitar sound in track 4! :D

Anthony reply Replies: 0 || 2006-12-23 00:00:00
I'd say my personal favorites are 2, 10, 12 and 29.

Hybrid Soldier reply Replies: 0 || 2006-12-23 00:00:00
Amazing !

Excellent work !

Track 1, 3, 21 and 23 are the best !

Anthony reply Replies: 0 || 2006-12-20 00:00:00
Aww, the mixing in the film sounds a lot better than this. There's added electronic in some bits which don't sound that great! :'(

Woohoo, I just got the score!!!!

It's amazing and great and brilliant and super-awesome..

I love the light synth beat behind some tracks :)

Track 21 "Fun Food Storm" is actually 5:19 and not 2:52 as written above. :)

You're right Anthony...

The Atlantic Records' website is quite bad...

We have no news !

Anthony reply Replies: 0 || 2006-12-12 00:00:00
Has anyone got hold of a track listing anywhere? This is out in a week and we've heard nothing...

Hybrid Soldier reply Replies: 0 || 2006-12-11 00:00:00
Yesterday I saw the movie... The score is great... A lot of "speed" action scenes... Also choirs... That's a very good Powell, as usual !

At the beginning of the movie there's especially songs... But in the end, the last 20-25 minutes, above all, we have Powell's score...

Anthony you're right, the score will be a little bit short I think, but anyway, it's awsome ! ^^

Anthony reply Replies: 0 || 2006-12-11 00:00:00
Why do I have a feeling the last 3 comments were all by the same person?

And btw, time must fly, as this score comes out in 9 days time! :o

I just got back from seeing the film and I honestly can't see there being over 30 minutes of score for this. Ah well, never know, there could be!

Sylvos reply Replies: 0 || 2006-12-05 00:00:00
No sign of tracklisting yet? It's weird to have the cover already but not the tracklisting. Although I think the total playback may not exceed 40 minutes (Don't bash me if it does! :-P), still it'd be interesting to know how much music is in there.
