Main theme is on Youtube. I quite like it. I prefer Hans doing themes like this rather than the stuff he is doing with FIFA.I'm surprised no one is talking about this one, its one of Rupert's best scores imo.Lately I have been listening to the album carefully, and the truth is that I did not quite understand why Hans did not just use a big orchestra instead of the synthesizer.It would have really been interesting to see Ritcher scoring a chase on the photo, although without a doubt his work would not have been anything generic.Richter is a conceptual artist, I love his Leftovers score, but come one, scoring to picture ?

He writes pieces that are used in scenes, not the other way around...

Richter scoring a moon buggy chase ? Hell no... lol you could see from day one it was gonna be replaced...
^ Yeah the edit floating around matches Felix’s almost to a T. Only major difference is

“Our Final Stand - Showdown - United Greece - Finale”

Which is broken up into four separate cues. Realistically you could edit it anyway you want if you prefer the smaller cues. Personally, I like the long suite-like format of this release. Kinda like the album release for “Event Horizon” lol.I hope they at least release Richter's score.My Edit:

01. Rise Of An Empire - Marathon - King Darius - Artemisia - Man To God - War (13:36)
=

M1A Rise of An Empire (09:48)
M1B From Man to God King (03:44)

02. Greek Council - Persian War Plan - Spartan Fight Training - Greek Conversation - Your Commander Is Greek (10:47)
=

M2 Greek Council (03:39)
M3 Greek Conversation (07:06)

05. Suicide - General Bandari - Circle Battle (7:30)
=

M6 Suicide/General Bandari (02:10)
M7 Circle Battle (05:16)

06. Sex - Fire Battle (12:04)
=

M10 Sex (05:36)
M11 Fire Battle (06:21)

11. Artemisia Suite = History of Artemisia
Greek Action Suite = Marathon
Xerxes Rebirth Suite = From Man to God King
Greek Sacrifice Suite = ???
Artemisia’s Childhood Suite = Artemisia’s Childhood
Greek Attack Suite = Greeks on Attack
Queen Gorgo Suite = Queen Gorgo
Xerxes Thoughts Suite = Xerxes Thoughts
Greek History Suite = History of the Greeks
Greek Victory Suite = Greeks Are Winning

Hope this helps! :-)Hybrid can you tell us what album cues are the suites ?!well, from what Lorne wrote on Twitter, it should be releasedCool thanks for getting back! I am still a little bit confused though. Do any Basil Poledouris cues go somewhere in that list? It’s been a very very long time since I have seen the film.The Hans cues used are :

1M1 OPENING CREDITS / MAIN TITLE (USED FROM 2:18 TO 3:03)
1M2 GOLDEN STAIRCASE (USED FROM 0:00 TO 1:56)
2M2 JACK SEES WOLVES
2M3 BLACK WOLF
2M6 THE TREK CONTINUES (USED FROM 0:28 TO 1:15)
3M1 THIN ICE
3M2 SKUNKER'S DEATH
3M3 FULL MOON WOLF ATTACK
3M3A MORNING WOLF ATTACK
6M4 THE BEAR
6M4A THE BEAR ATTACK
7M3 IN THE STABLE
7M5 WHITE FANG FIGHTS SATAN
8M1 FIGHT MONTAGE (FIRST HALF USED)
8M3 PIT FIGHT (FINAL 20 SEC USED)

All the rest, by definition, is Basil's score...
Hey hybrid soldier! You mentioned on the ghost in the shell page about white fang so I came here! Can you give us a list of the cues as they appear in the film please? The Basil Poledouris cues and the Hans Zimmer cues pleaseI imagined it ... hopefully this time Max Ritcher does not give him a lollipop and refuses to launch his musicYes Unbreakable.

Exactly like White Fang. Have Poledouris write a score, then HZ do another, then pick what you want from both.

Ghost In The Shell was kinda different...In the credits of the movie, Max Ritcher appears as the Main Composer, meanwhile, Lorne appears as Additional MusicI find that it would be best to accredit both and launch the two soundtracks and all happy.

Whoa! Will you look at this. Another bootleg I see. Gee, the business of PotC2 bootleg is hot in the soundtrack community. This is gotta be the fifth bootleg I've seen around since the DVD hit stores. Apparently there're more bootlegs for this one that the first and that surely rings a bell. Love the tracklisting by the way. Hope a clean version of this comes around soon. I hate these DVD-Rips.

OK Mr zimmer
if you don't us to ask for the bootleg or expanded...stuffs
just include all the sound heard in the movie in official released soundtrack.
That is the deal and every think will be fine.

Where can you find the bootleg then?

Per reply Replies: 0 || 2007-02-01 00:00:00
I agree with Hybrid Soldier

DVD rips like this sounds just awful, naturally because it has sfx sounds from the film, but also because it's ripped from the rear speakers (to get rid of most sfx, but since the music usually are mixed into the front speakers and subwoofer too, you get rid of most of the music too (you end up with just the 'background' noise of the music)

Not sure how to explain it, but stuff like this sounds like 'a site rip recorded with the microphones in the room next to...' ;)

actually you get a better music listening experience when wathcing the film !!

Hybrid Soldier reply Replies: 0 || 2007-02-01 00:00:00

Where did you get the Bootleg score? it isn't even listed in this Website!
Are you sure that it hasn't been ripped from the DVD?
Check it out.

Cloud reply Replies: 0 || 2007-01-31 00:00:00
Of course it's a DVD rip, that's why it's got SFX. Get the End Credits suite for now, forget the rest and hope for the Recording sessions to leak soon, that's what i say :)

Felix reply Replies: 0 || 2007-01-31 00:00:00
Hi!
where are the recording sessionsreleased and by who? I am in the US and I have been scrutining almost all the stores and I have never had something!

Seba reply Replies: 0 || 2007-01-31 00:00:00
Of course it's a DVD rip.
I did a mistake listing the tracks: in fact there are 29, not 30. As soon as possible I check it.

bye

Felix reply Replies: 0 || 2007-01-29 00:00:00
When I bought this soundtrack, I was expected something better that this. but even after listening to it several times , I remain unsatisfied. Mr zimmer, you should remake a deal with the old spririts of "Crimson tide,.... the Peacemaker....Tear of sun"...without forgetting the great great " the King Arthur".
Pirates of the Carribean 1 was and remains a great score.
Please, don't miss the target again with Pirates of the Carribean 3. we like your Score, we want you to stay on ride.

sandra reply Replies: 0 || 2007-01-28 00:00:00
I absolutly love your work. I was wondering if you would tell me the name of the song that is played in Pirates of the Caribbean 2 Dead Man's Chest and where I may be able to get it, it is the one where you see Elizabeth in her wedding gown and it is raining. I was a little upset that it was not on the cd it is a beautiful song.

Pam reply Replies: 0 || 2007-01-25 00:00:00
This sound track was reeallly excellent, and I'm definitely going to buy this one. I agree with the post by Emily Bland -- the music is still beautiful even when it's dark or intense or forboding or whatever other mood needs to be set. Very good work ^_^
