Can anyone please tell me what ever happened to the rejected score by Howard Shore? Is that anywhere? I could of swore I read something about him releasing it.

Me too. I was on a blog earlier today that had Graeme Revell's suggested cues and Howard Shore's rejected score. Those 2 are the only other materials I have ever seen of King Kong.

That Howard Shore King Kong score that is floating around is a fake. It's actually a John Frizzell score (can't remember for which film though)
But JNH wrote a wonderful score for this. Hope that one day we'll find an expanded release.

Expanded? Hell, I want the 104-track recording sessions. Almost more than Batman Begins, being that there is at least an expanded of that. Even though it's kinda crappy, one still exists. But yeah, I would love to have this complete.

Look...I apologize for backing in out at the last minute. If you were in my situation you would do the same. And I don't even know who Mr. Jones is or what problems you have had with him in the past...I just got on here. Anyway here are 3 tracks sample tracks from the sessions. I can't really remember what what is on OST, but hopefully these are not. These are tracks 11,12 and 37. I can't submit the youtube links so here is the end parts. Just copy the first part of a regular youtube video up to the part where it says "watch" and them copy and paste these ends on the end of it.

This guy is full of crap. All of those sampes are directly from the OST. If you really wanted to prove yourself true, knowing the score to King Kong, then you should have the decency of posting tracks of parts of the score you KNOW are not on the OST. Like: 81. 8M4 Kong Chases Jack. a winner in dI think anybody who knows the movie and score can tell you right now this piece of music is not on the OST in ANY form, is mostly percussion and proof enough.
You did not post ANYTHING original, so I believe you to be a liar, Mr Jones.

He posted both tracks that we requested (those can be found on his account following above links), "Kong chases Jack" containing mainly percussion hits and "Dead Crew Members" containing eerie vocals and horrorish music-sound effects. This IS the real deal. The SFX you're talking about are intended sound effects by James Newton Howard. If you listen closely, those SFX aren't even in the movie at all.

Will we ever be getting the rejected score by Howard Shore at all? I remember reading something about them releasing it, but haven't seen any progress on it for years. Is the complete leaking at all? Curious.
A very beautiful score by JNH which has swiftly entered my Top 10 Scores list. Though quite a few good moments are missing, this is definitely a good release.
Why in this web site doesn't appear James Newton Howard's "The Lookout", it was ecorded at Remote Control Studios,and Clay Duncan and Mel Wesson made addittional music! Regard ! :-)
