Thanks Hybrid! :) Yeah, lots of samples, but sadly there weren't any RCP-sampled french horns. Those are always epic... :-)Depends on the mood... ;)I know!!! The way the music kind of swelled when Gordon said, "They know. It was the Batman." and you saw them uncover the statue. There were manly tears, I tell you!I agree. Even though the last minute and a half was a blatant copy of the music used in the previous movie (see "A Watchful Guardian"), I for once didn't care (I usually hate it when a whole cue is copied exactly). The entire ending scene gets my emotions going every time. Especially when I saw it in the theater.I thought all the end music (basically the entire track "Rise") was just PERFECT. One of the biggest goosebumps i've ever had in a theatre (on par with Beckett's death in PotC) :p
Hybrid Soldier, since you're virtually famous, what Zimmer work is your favorite? :PAnd 9:11-14:12 in "Rocket Away" from the Rock! :DA favorite of mine that hardly anyone mentions is The Burning Bush from The Prince of Egypt. It really conveys the presence of God.I like the theme a lot, too, Ds, and it made perfect sense to use it when Batman showed up in the tunnel (my favorite part of the movie) and when he saved Blake from the thugs, but when Batman said, "This isn't a car", we had just heard it in the previous scene. And when Batman appears out of the exploding building at the end, it sounds really forced. You guys are right. These are all AMAZING themes. Moving and addictive!<br><br>I'd add "Hummel Gets The Rockets" from The Rock and "All Of Them" from King Arthur.
Marry Me is my favorite Zimmer theme and cue as well. Although all of the suggestions below are also great pieces. I'll throw in the main theme from Crimson Tide as well as practically the proto power anthem. Such an influential score.Aragorn, thought the same thing while watching the movie. I think they were in deep love with that tune (and so am i), and were incessantly thinking: "Come on, this is the last Batman we do, this is the last time ever we can use this, so LET'S GO!" :pFort Walton - Kansas reminds me of summer cookouts or somethin' nice like that.Or "Tennessee" from Pearl Harbor.Don't forget Chevaliers De Sangreal, Now We Are Free, and The Heart of Davy Jones! ;)<br>
Amen to that! "Marry Me", "Time", and "A Dark Knight" would definitely have to go on my list of "Hans Zimmer's most amazing themes ever".... i missed it :(The Marry Me suite is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. :)"The Dark Knight Rises used it any time Batman did anything even remotely sudden..."<br><br>lol, you can just imagine Hans or Lorne or whoever eagerly watching a scene they need to score and just WAITING excitedly<br> for the chance to employ that music. XDAnd I should add that, in my opinion, TDK was the one to perfectly balance the use of the DUN DUN DUN end credits theme. Batman Begins didn't use it enough, while The Dark Knight Rises used it any time Batman did anything even remotely sudden.

I absolutely adore the bassoon solos in this, especially in 'Ellie Remebers'. Powell is a genius who is to be commended

I really love the first track. I love that jazzy rhythm and then the clarinet solo. I love all the tracks. There melodies and styles are performed so wonderfully. I am definatley looking forward to hearing more from Powell. And I have to say, both sloth sing alongs are rather hysterical and catchy.

[perhaps a little closer - although I'm not sure about 'rank']:

Food, glorious food
We're anxious to try it
Three banquets a day
Our favorite diet
Just picture a mammoth steak
Fried, roasted or stewed
Oh food, wonderful food
Marvelous food, glorious food.

Food, glorious food
Poached possum served flambe'd
Broth made from a sloth
Or saber tooth souffle
Why should we be fated to
Do nothing but brood on
Food, magical food
Wonderful food
Marvelous food

Food, glorious food
Flesh picked off the dead ones
Rank, battered or chewed
Soon we'll be the fed ones
Just thinking of putrid meat
Puts us in a mood for
Food glorious food
Marvelous food
Fabulous food
Beautiful food
Magical food
Glorious food

Three banquets a day,
Our favorite diet!

Do nothing but *can't make out word*.

On food,
Magical food,
Wonderful food,
Marvelous food.

Food, glorious food,
Flesh picked off the dead ones,
*can't make out next 2 words* or chewed,
Soon we'll be the fed ones,

Just thinking of putrid meat,
Puts us in a mood for

Marvelous food,
Fabulous food,
Beautiful food,
Magical food,
Glorious food!

But you know Sid's Sing-A-Long is better? :p

A very funny score. It's even better than the first movie. I can't believe that the song Mammoths is written by John. Is really magnificent and it fits well in the movie. I think that Mr. Powell will have a long and succesful career.
