I don't blame Hans. I know it's watertower.<br><br>But this kind of crap and 56 editions and bonus tracks push me to pirate it. So far I haven't purchased 1 WaterTower score although I purchased a looooot of other ones.<br><br>And I'm sure I'm not the only one. Score fans don't like several editions of a soundtracks, exclusive apps and stuff. Just sayin'Blame WaterTower, not HZ. They did the same circus with TDKR and Inception (we even fought them with HZ to put the Inception bonus tracks out)... :/Yes. Hans Zimmer seems to be the new Lady Gaga of soundtracks.<br><br>Sneek peeks, samples, fan made promos, interviews about how brilliant the score is, featurettes, 1 track that is sold 'accidently' on iTunes a month in advance, trailers, soundcloud, movieticket exclusives...<br><br>It's a score goddamnit. It's made for the movie/movie studio/director and not for the fans. I was always glad i am not into a lot of commercial music because of all this hype crap.<br><br>Sorry needed to vent. This hype and so called promo's are having an opposite effect on me ^^<br>I love the distorted bass sound in that trailer! Sounds really crazy. This might be part of the few tracks giving credits to Hans & Junkie XL, because it's more electronic. But who knows...I do think "Flight" is an amazing track, though. If John Williams sees the movie, I'd love to know what he thinks of the score.
I agree..... but at the same time i really CAN'T wait for this soundtrack to be released so i'm always glad when a new piece is released :p<br><br>Hybrid: as a HZ fan, i really don't know how you can resist!I agree Ed, that's also why I don't listen to any of all this...I agree; most of the samples are lame, too. They purposefully leave the important tracks for the actual release.I'm probably preaching to the wrong crowd here, but is anyone getting a little sick of the endless procession of streaming tracks, samples, sneak peeks etc.? It just seems like they're cranking the hype wheel WAY too hard. I haven't heard any of the music except what was in the one trailer, but it seems like they're putting up a new cue every couple days now. Chill! Leave some for the album, guys...I found a two minute preview of "Flight Part 2". I'm not Hans Zimmer's biggest fan--I don't like everything he's written, but if you ask me, this was fantastic. Very big and epic. As MGDrone said below, it amazes me that Hans has scored films for the two most (arguably) popular superheroes out there.
the question is why release an "exclusif track" for preordered ticket called flight part 2 and put the same cue in flight (the version in the album. nonsense?<br><br>plus the transition between the two part is too brutal.Guitwo, you find 1-3 second flexibility with track lengths of songs truly ripped from the CD all the time on youtube. Just because the track is 4:20 instead of 4:18 is hardly a valid argument. <br>The one on youtube is actually 4'18" long!anybody know about Flight Part 1? Been looking for it but can't find it....fan made edit i rather say<br><br>flight is suppose to be 4:18. <br>
The quality is the same throughout and the only spot that might be copy/pasted is the gab in the middle. I think we may have the full track here ladies and gents :)<br>There's a 4'18" 'Flight' track on youtube. I wonder if it's the real one or if it's fan made.<br><br>It begins with the 60" sample and ends with 'Flight Part 2'. The mid-part sounds like the piece HZ played at the live performance the other night...Can't help but wonder if Disney is not confident about the score to press a CD at its own plants.So apparantly the score release will be done by Intrada, which is great news, seeing how Intrada releases are usually very well done!<br><br>h ttp://www.intrada.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=5590This is a great soundtrack to do homework to. Makes it feel all important and epic.

new Intrada releases on 28th

here are the clues from Intrada about one of two releases:

When next week arrives, Tuesday in particular, we'll be reaching a cool landmark. Your support for some 25 years has made it possible. No question, my staff gets credit, too. You won't think it's the biggest thing since sliced butter or whatever but you'll probably enjoy what's happening.

We'll have two new CDs to offer on Tuesday, June 28. Both are premieres. One's an eighties action score from a veteran composer that offers what might be his finest main theme ever, heard in complete form during the end credits. What a great tune! And incredible action music, too. What's not to like? It's a Special Collection limited release, with 2000 copies to go around.

The other CD not only gives you an Oscar-winning masterpiece, with melody and action galore, but ushers in a brand new series of CDs actually produced and co-branded by one of the entertainment industry's true giants. With this new partnership, it excites me to know that so many wonderful soundtracks we all have been hoping would see the light of day... will finally see that day.

But back to now. For our two newest CDs, you'll find artwork and sound samples on our site Monday evening, June 27. Orders begin shipping on Tuesday. I hope you'll support these releases, and I trust you'll look forward to some great things in the months ahead. Happy listening!

....could be Lion King?

Andrew2011-06-24 10:45:50
Lion King has been released before by Disney in some form so it cannot be a premier release. Also I don't think "action galore" is the term to describe this music with in a general sense.

Bou2011-06-24 13:54:29
hmmmm... souds like it's "Up" My Giacchino

Ravi Krishna2011-06-24 14:23:15
There is a fair amount of action music in TLK actually (the elephant graveyard, stampede and final battle scenes for example), but I too think it's more likely to be Up because of the other clue that the score hasn't had a CD release before, which TLK unfortunately did... however lousy.

On the positive side, this is good news 'cos Disney is finally seeming to lift the fortifications around their vault. Maybe it's time to mail the petition to them? :-) I just hope our penace finally bears fruit at last!

I am sure Lion King is somewhere on their to-do list anyway.

It's almost identical to the 25-track expanded that I have. The tracks here are slightly longer. They probably just end earlier.

Iceboy reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-21 00:00:00
Is it SFX free?

Yes Sir

@Dakota

"The tracks here are slightly longer."
On the 25tracks version, most of the cues were already slowed down to make them longer. Tracks from this 2CD are even longer... for me it looks like somebody tried to re-work the 25 version to make it look more interesting... nothing new or interesting here. Prove me I'm wrong ! :)

Love HZ & TLK!!!!

I was wondering how it works, when there are songs written by people and then the 'rest' of the score by the composer, in this case HZ.... the melody of Circle Of life, for example, is in the score as well. Who wrote that originally? Tim Rice? and Hans incoporated it into the score then?

Same with Pearl Harbor and There You'll Be... did Dianne Warren write the melody of that song, and HZ put into his score? Or the other way around? Or do they work together on such things?

For those who are still looking for the lyrics to the opening chant in circle of life: they are posted on The Lion King's page on IMDB, under trivia.

I looked an all those forums, in scripts, dictionaries, I used all of the links Pridelander and others gave, but I haven't found it! Ok, Ingonyama, nengw enamabala; but what is that second thing? When the chorus starts? I can't find it anywhere! It's something else then the thing on the begining! Please help! I need it, I am making an arrangement for my choir, but i just can't put in "la-la-la" on that part! Please send me an email if you can on boccacgp@hotmail.com and I'll be forever grateful.

Does anybody know where the orchestra for Lion King was recorded? UK or US?

Pridelander reply Replies: 0 || 2008-10-28 00:00:00
According to the end credits:
http://www.lionking.org/endcredits.html
Music Recorded at MEDIA VENTURES (USA), TODD A-O SCORING (USA), ANGEL STUDIOS (UK), BOP STUDIOS (South Africa)

I think the orchestra was recorded only in the US (Todd A-O). And the chorus and/or songs were recorded in the US, UK, and S. Africa.

Oh and I posted some information about African lyrics of TLK songs/score in the forum.

http://www.hans-zimmer.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=3978

I hope I could make a website about TLK lyrics (like LotR's), but I need more time... :(

Shadleyvw reply Replies: 0 || 2008-10-28 00:00:00
Pridelander you legend! I figured as much, usually you can tell where the orchestra is from by the contractor, in this case it was Reggie Wilson, and it also makes mention of Tonia Davall, who in the last couple of years has done some of the orchestra contracting in London, but in the case of LK, she only contracted some of the choirs
anyway, send me an email

Oh and Triston, I know what you're talking about, I've been looking for that for so long for kinda the same reason haha. I found it once, but once again, on my old computer... Grrr Windows...

Alex reply Replies: 0 || 2008-06-02 00:00:00
There's a bunch of the african lyrics on here

http://www.lionking.org/lyrics/

...I just noticed that Pridelander already posted that hahaha. BTW <3 TLK and Hans Zimmer :)

And I have another website bookmarked on my old computer, it has a lot more of the African words on it. Unfortunately, I'm still in the process of resurrecting that stupid thing... I forgot to back up some kinda important music file and stuff, so if I happen upon the site again, I'll definitely post it ^-^

hi.. folks... to Pridelander... there is an additional ad zulu chant just as the lead female says the circle of life.. not the ingonyama chant.. and actually thats why i'm here.. i am also looking for the additional ad libs for the lion king songs that for some reason dont appear in the scores or lyrics... through my obssesiveness with the lionking.. and that we're putting on the play this summer... i have been able to fig out some.. but not all.. < i always thought it was swahili. :(.. prob cause Simba is swahili for lion.. so i just assumed that the other native tounges were swahili as well)... thanks for clearing that up barry.. Ingonyama is zulu for lion

if anyone knows the zulu adlibs please email them to me at T14309@hotmail.com.. cause i found this page by accident.. and'll prob have a hellova time findin it back

p.s... ladysasha.. if u haven't gotten the lyrics for this land under the stars and king of pride rock yet... email me and i'll email em to u.. or jus check the lyrics for lala, busa, and noyana and work your way through the lyrics like i did. they aren't the same lyrics from the film.. but there are some familliar words and phrases

this is what i can remeber from under the stars

"We sangoma ngi velelwe
We baba ngivelelwe
We baba ngivelelwe"....

This one is truly got to be his greatest of all time. The Lion King was superb. Every track was absolutely gorgeous. I love the powerful theme right before the tempo picks up and the voices come in in King of Pride Rock. Perfect!

Hey, my question is does anyone have the lyrics for "This Land", "King of Pride Rock" and "Under the Stars"? I love how it sounds, but I want to know exactly what they are saying, not a translation.
By the way, HANS ZIMMER RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!
