Oops, never mind. Alternate 3 is "--This Land"-- and Alternate 4 is "--Under The Stars"-- (the songs from the original soundtrack). I'm not sure why those two songs are included, seeing as they're both already on this CD anyway (You're Mufasa's Boy, The Once And Future King).
Okay, I figured out that Alternate 2 is actually "--Can You Feel the Love Tonight,"-- Alternate 3 is actually "--I Just Can't Wait To Be King"-- and Alternate 4 is "--Hakuna Matata."--
Wow! I did some searching on the internet and - just like that - I found this score! It's really awesome, there's absolutely no SFX and just about everything from the movie is included. There are definitely some presentation issues though (it is a bootleg).
First, almost all the tracks have been slowed down, and as a result, the pitches are lower and the listening experience is not very enjoyable. (You can hear this for yourself. Listen to the extract of Track 6 on this page, then compare it to the extract on the other Lion King bootleg listed below this one.)
Secondly, some of the tracks are misnamed. "--Life Isn't Fair, Is It"-- is actually "--Setting The Trap,"-- and "--Stampede (first half...)"-- is actually "--Be Prepared."-- "--Run Away"-- is the real Stampede track. To anybody else who has this score, is that the case with yours? As well, what parts of the movie were "--Alternate 1, 2, 3, and 4"-- playing? (Alternate 1 is actually "--Run Away/Mufasa's Death"-- for example...)
Anyway, this is a great score (some tracks are mono, but they're still enjoyable). If you have the time to do some searching, I highly recommend it, because this is a score you shouldn't miss out on.
well, even if disney has nothing to do with a bootleg, they should have released a complete score along with the special edition soundtrack in 2003 (like they did with Disney's Dinosaur). I have the Disney's dinosaur complete score, and it is GREAT, all the tracks are stereo and of the same quality of the original soundtrack. I wish they did this with the Lion king expanded score too, the score of the Lion King is even better than that of Dinosaur (in my opinion)....anyway, see ya!
where did u guys get that cd from? did u get it from a normal cd store? or did u order it from ebay or something? plz let me know (post it here)!!!! god bless anyonr who helps me find this cd. okay, adieu, folks!
I think this album is ok, it's the best of the "--complete"-- Lion King albums so far, the SFX versions are no match of course. Sure, it's got a lot of mono tracks, but they're very listenable i think, plus the tracks that are stereo are incredible, like track 19. Not a perfect complete release (like with the Armageddon or The Peacemaker completes for example), but still the best choice for people who want more of the Lion King score than the OST can offer.
Well, I managed to find a copy of the SFX version of the score - not as good as this one, but it's a start! Most songs have very minor SFX, anyway, except for the extended Pride Rock track, which is loaded with hyenas, flames, and thunder noises. It would be great to find this one, but for now, the SFX version will have to do. The song that plays when Simba fights scar is really great.
it is REALLY unfair to trouble fans like this by displaying the track list of a wonderful CD like this grandly, and releasing it God knows where :( very unfair of Disney X-(
this (like many others) are a bootleg, and Disney haven't got anything to do with this socalled 'release' at all....... (a bootleg is not a official score.....it's not the record companies who 'makes' / releases this stuff...... they come from die hard fans, who would do everything to get a hold of their favorite score....from 'lost' copies of the original material......, sometimes a composer ''give'' a copy to a good friend, he give it to another friend (who knows) etc..... in most cases the bootlegs don't have any special good quality, but sometimes they do...... but anyway.....the record companies, even the composer himself (in some/most cases), don't have anything to do with this bootleg versions......so its no point in saying 'it's unfair etc....blabla....of the '(rec. comp./composer).....' , to ''release'' ''such a great score...but 'impossible' to get a hold of etc......
where on the earth did you guys get that CD?!?! Plz email me at ... if you have any info on this cd or you can sand me any extracts...im achin' for that cd!!!
The following tracks are in mono : 2. Life Isn't Fair, Is It ? 9. ...To Die For 10. What Have You Done / Run Away 11. "--Alternate 1"-- (Mufasa's Death / Simba's Escape) 12. A New Hera / Bowling for Buzzards 13. Simba Awakens 14. Under the Stars / Simba Alive 15. Hunting / Pinned Again / Reunion
That means the sound quality is a little lower on those tracks. Nevertheless, the stereo tracks are really good, almost as good as the original soundtrack. Track 19 is so excellent. Thanks Hans Zimmer !
The sound is not mono on all the tracks. Moreover this version is a bootleg one and I really don't think an expanded version like this one will be released one day ---(
They already have released a new one recently with the DVD version of the film and it would be hard to ask for a third one.
I use a 5 star rating system for sound quality - but things like muffles and mono and volume fluctuations others, don't count as part of the sound qaulity. I list those seperately.
5 being store bought sound, I'd say Lion King lies inbetween **** and ****.5
Jeezzz... i would sell one of nut to get a copy! How is the sound quality really?? Oh welll.. lets hope they will release it on CD like The Ring soundtrack recently! Hey Webmaster Nicolas, how about "--asking"-- Decca Records to release this score? Maybe they would be intrested?
As many, we own a lot of this boot, but we're a lot in HZ Team, and everyone has his own collection. I just found Maybach on ebay, and i'm the one in the team to have an exemplar. We're not a group of friend who share all we find regarding film music. We're living far from eachothers, and the goal of this website is to give a global vision of what does exist and what we can find. As a film music fan, i think you're ok with me to tell that's interesting ! ---)
But don't think everybody in our website own every CD you can see on our website. It's a big mistake. Relations wouldn't be the same between us if we were asking for a music to the other one all the day. I've all the official release, a lot of promotional one and many others, but i would be the happyest man if had all we presented to you in this website.
To finish, i will tell you, i will try, like you, to have this release. Let's wish us good luck !
Guys, we misunderstood ! I don't own this version, just heard tracks from it, and it's really beautiful. I can't help you about how to get it ! Sorry...
I know it's strange, but it is possible to get it? I love H.Z. music and I have almost all albums. Whatmore, TLK is really special for me. Is there a chance, that Hans Zimmer would sell it on, for example, iTunes? =)
