Hans Zimmer and a philarmonic?

Would that be amazing ...
John Williams came to NYC like 2 yrs ago and along with the philarmonic had a amazing night themed " a night at the movies."
I think HS will be superb in a philarmonic.This is only the "expanded score", not the "complete score".Can anyone tell me why this list doesn't seem to include "1m10/11 Father Son & Baby Po?" Was it not recorded?I pulled a Giacchino, track 1: The Not So Merry Go Round ;0

One of my favorite tracks in faceWell, okay then. No hope for an expanded Begins release, I guess.
Will definitely want this score.Yes, the Transformers score was planned from the very beginning, and it was decided to have it released at the same time as the DVD.
Not knowing that, many people got pissed, and started a (useless) petition.There is a crude recording of the Be Prepared Reprise, it's even sung by Jeremy Irons (or Jim Cummings, I can't tell them apart).What I'm saying is there was stuff recorded that has never seen the light of day. For instance, the Be Prepared reprise. That was near-finished (it had an instrumental track, I think the hyena chorus had yet to be finalized).The CD was always planned. Like Armageddon, just very bad timing...
Kinda like TDKR....movie sounds better than album.Actually, if I'm remembering correctly, I believe it was a petition that got the first Transformers score released (and that was an excellent album if you ask me!).Do petitions work for this kinda thing?I don't suppose there are any petitions for a two-disc BB soundtrack floating around, are there? :PI concur, Anonymous. I love hearing that Hans Zimmer will be scoring a film, but there are a lot of "blossoming" talents at RCP who would probably appreciate the chance to do whole scores and not just additional music/arrangements.
It was recorded, yes. But it never got put with the soundtrack given it was an abandoned idea. They finished it and released it on "Rhythm of the Pride Lands", a CD I am proud to own because it also presents a few other pieces from the film in concert-style.@The Joker: I've known that was there, but I didn't know if it was legitimate.Interesting...Well, maybe one day he'll be able to take a break like John Powell is doing and get stuff like this rolling.this is mgbube for ggctuk but the song was recorded and all so zimmer got paid for it so it must be part of the soundtrack check here and please advise hxxp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8_W82JSnmM thanks mgbubeWarthog Rhapsody was an early idea that got replaced by Hakuna Matata. It says that much on the Special Edition DVD, and I remember hearing it mentioned in the making of the Rhythm of the Pride Lands CD.

All of you who sincerely appreciate Hans Zimmer's masterpiece, like Shawn here, why doesn't one of you create a petition to get it RELEASED? All of us fans have a right to listen to this great music in a deserving, great quality form, not just bootleg traders! I myself would have created a petition but I am really (I am not making excuses, REALLY) busy with my college and cannot manage it even f I create it. I will help as much as I can to get as many signatures as possible. It's a sincere request from me to ALL you Hans Zimmer and Lion King fans. Like I mentioned below, this score means a LOT to me, I just pray to God I get it in the form it deserves to be before it is too late! Please!

Man, Lion King music reminds me of my earlier days. It's so beautiful. I love and hate Disney. They seem to always get the perfect composer who creates an amazing score. But then as you druel over the magnificent sounds they snatch it away, letting you listen no more. I'm sure everyone is with me when I say this music is "to Die For". "Life Isn't Fair, Is It?" Ugh, I made myself sad. Someone needs to politely treaten that they'll eat Disney or something.

Zurg reply Replies: 0 || 2008-01-07 00:00:00
PLEASE someone create a petiton!!!

Foehammer reply Replies: 0 || 2007-12-31 00:00:00
We need to make a petition to get this released, really! All we have is 16 minutes on the OST with three fourths of the highlights missing, and a dud quality bootleg with half the tracks mono and even the stereo ones with glitches and lossy encoding. There are people out there enjoying academy promos and a majority of the fans don't even have this bootleg. Fair??

Someone make a petition, PLEASE! I'm sure there will be no less than 5000 signatures if we put in our best!!

Rapier reply Replies: 0 || 2007-12-21 00:00:00
Agreed :D But the releases you're talking about had more than 16 min of score on the SOT :P

Rapier reply Replies: 0 || 2007-12-21 00:00:00
*OST, sorry (below)

Suicune reply Replies: 0 || 2007-12-20 00:00:00
I agree and understand what you are saying. But this is not the only unfairly treated score in history (Disney or general). Look at how many Zimmer scores aren't fully released: Rain Man, Crimson Tide, The Prince of Egypt, Gladiator, The Preacher's Wife, The Rock etc. An countless other expamples from many other composers.

Rapier reply Replies: 0 || 2007-12-20 00:00:00
Hi, Suicune! I don't think the official recorded cues are "lost". As the person Medivh down there mentioned, an (maybe two) academy promo(s) does exist. I won't speak much on this but can confirm that it does exist. And as far as I know, all track in this are stereo and much, much better quality than this bootleg. And I'm pretty sure Disney owns copies of the academy promos of their films. So why can't they make it public?

I think this is the most injustly treated score in Disney history. I mean, look at old films like Sleeping Beauty, Snow White etc, they've got almost all the score included. Even newer films like Aladdin, Toy Story 2, Dinosaur and Atlantis have reasonable amount of score on the soundtrack. Now compare Lion King to them, it doesn't even stand out much. There's SO much missing highlight material - Mufasa teaching Simba about the Circle of Life, the battle in the Elephant Graveyard (partially released in a track called "Hyenas" on some foreign editions, which for some reason they didn't even bother to include on the 2003 special edition), "Kings of The Past", the Stampede scene without the cuts, Simba/Nala reunion, and most importantly, THE BATTLE OF PRIDE ROCK!

I know I sound like a bit weir ;-) but Lion King is a movie very dear to my heart, I loved it since I was five! And it was my first ever soundtrack CD I bought, which introduced me to Mr. Hans Zimmer's score and the world of film score in general. And it is the score of which we have such a meagre amount! I hope you understand!!

Suicune reply Replies: 0 || 2007-12-19 00:00:00
This is not an official statement. It is only an opinion. Perhaps the reason that Disney doesn't officialy release this score is that, probably, they don't own the official recorded cues from the recording sessions. As far as I have heard, some of the material have been lost. The reason that this bootleg has a low quality material is that it has been carefully ripped from the DVD to "mask" the sound effects.

You are right, Rapier. There are many who wish that this one will go official, including me. The reason that they have released complete scores such as The Lord of the Rings is that they have been recently recorded. Maybe, a posibility, is to release this CD as a limited edition, like they did in 2000, if I'm not mistaking, to Vangelis' score for The Bounty (limited edition of 2000 copies). But that won't be enough because there will a battle to get a copy. I guess that the only thing we can do is to hope that this masterpiece will someday be ofiicialy release.

Take care, everybody!

Walt Disney Records, now that you've definitely been here and seen how many, maybe several thousands, of people love this beautiful masterpiece by Hans Zimmer, why don't you, instead of fearing illegal recordings spreading around, RELEASE the score? There are so many reasons to do so - the brilliance of this music, the prestigious awards it's won, the fans it has gathered! If you do so, you'll not only put stop illegal bootleg traders making black money over this music, but do justice to a truly spectacular and masterful piece of art.

The official statement is that expanded score releases are avoided by Disney because they don't sell well enough. I'd like to draw your attention towards the scores like Godzilla, Independence Day and Lord of The Rings which got expanded releases and thry get sold out in the FIRST week. Lion King is no less, and perhaps more, spectacular than some of these. The sales will be spectacular, I can assure you. There are thousands of people out there who we don'tt even know of and who will but maybe two copies of the score.

A score only limited promo of Mulan was released. Why not Lion King? Please let us hear this excellent music in the form it deserves, not 16 minutes on the OSt or in the form of these illegal, poor quality bootlegs. Thank you very much!

I hope someone really creates a petition to get this score released. This is by far the most injustly treated score in Disney history, IMHO. It deserves an expanded release!

V Ravi Krishna reply Replies: 0 || 2007-11-12 00:00:00
Remus - it is possibly a copy obtained from the recording sessions, possibly during the time of the 2003 DVD release. And a pretty crappy copy for that matter. That's why we need an official expanded score so we can listen to this masterpiece in the way it deserves to be ;-)

Remus John Lupin reply Replies: 0 || 2007-11-09 00:00:00
I have a copy of this bootlegged cd..so where did it come from if neither Disney nor Zimmer released it???

Ravi reply Replies: 0 || 2007-10-08 00:00:00
And Pridelander, your English doesn't seem that bad ;-)

Ravi reply Replies: 0 || 2007-10-08 00:00:00
Disney is notorious when it comes to releasing complete scores. According to them, it takes a lot of money to release a complete score version and they can't easily earn the money back.

Hell, complete scores ARE released all the time, and they don't make the record companies bankrupt - in fact, they are actually sold out and dissapear like popcorn at the movies.

If they don't want to release a complete score, why don't they just sell the rights to a company who is willing to release it?? And especially with TLK. SIXTEEN minutes of a Golden Globe and Oscar winning score on the album??? Tell me!

I'd like to make a petition if I were better at English and had more free time... but sorry, I can't do it now :(

But indeed, there are lots of people who would sign the petition all over the world. Not only Zimmer fans. TLK fans (probably the largest fan community among any other Disney movies), Disney fans, general score fans (I've never heard someone saying 'it's terrible!' even if he's a Zimmer-hater), african music fans, etc... Releasing the expanded score would benefit Disney Records more than they think!

Also, I think now is good time to release new TLK album(s). After 13 years, those who saw the movie as kids (including me) have already grown up. They are now able to buy the new release even if it's a bit expensive.

This is awards-winning score from one of the most popular and historic movie, which has many fans... and Hans said in an interview it's one of the most profound things he's ever written... there are many good reasons to release the expanded score!

Pridelander (TLK fanatic) reply Replies: 0 || 2007-10-07 00:00:00
One more thing: 2009 is 15th anniversary of TLK! It's the best time to release the expanded score! Please consider it Disney! (and Hans!) :)

PS~ You can do it at http://www.petitiononline.com this is also where the famous and successful petition for releasing of the Transformers score was created!!!

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2007-10-05 00:00:00
Anyone who is willing to make a petition, go ahead!!! Unfortunately I can't make one myself since I am under 18 and not allowed, but I know a LOT of people who are more than ready to sign the petition if it is made, including myself. There IS a good chance of a release of a complete score if we try!!

Entei reply Replies: 0 || 2007-10-02 00:00:00
It's a shame and a terrible injustice that only about a crap 15 min of this beautiful Oscar winning score are released on the official CD, and all we score lovers have to be satisfied with is this terrible quality bootleg in which half the tracks are mono and even the quality of the stereo tracks is not satisfactory (has no one noticed the background hiss and numerous glitches hither and thither? the one in track 17 is very prominent). Why couldn't they release an expanded release with the DVD????

Mr. Hans, please, we need a complete release of this beautiful Golden Globe/Academy Award winning score of yours! It's terrible injustice to treat this masterpiece in the way it is right now!!
