"Battle of Kerak" sounds like a shady mixture of Prince Caspian and Call of Duty 4. I also hear Gladiator and Black Hawk Down in "Terms". "The King" also sounds identical to "The Battle" from The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe at one point. Interesting.

Actually, "The Coup" theme from Modern Warfare was lifted directly from "Better Man"!

Kingdom of Heaven predates a lot of the scores you mentioned there...

Indeed, Edmund, and it seems like it's been the template for some of his work since.
@Prott No problem! and yes I happen to do know where a lot of the unused cues were meant to be:
"Path to Heaven"- not quite sure where it was supposed to play. I think it could be when Tiberias leaves (while him and Balian are examining the dead soldiers from Guy's army)
The end of "An Understanding" plays when Balian is speaking to his soldiers before the wall is breached.
The "Better Man" choral part plays when Saladin's troops are launching fireballs at the city and Balian is walking down a passage seeing all the frightened families.
The end of "Saladin" was meant to play when Balian surrenders the city to Saladin- it was replaced by "Family Feud" (from Blade II)
The Choral part at the Beginning of "Wall Breached" was meant to play in that scene at night when Balian is getting ready for the next day of war and Sybilla is cutting her hair. (the percussion part that comes afterwards was edited in there, but meant to play when Saladin's messenger is arriving, before Guy cuts his throat)-was replaced by "Burning the Past" in the film
but you're right- a lot of this music got cut, witch is a shame because it's really good :(
Drake: thanks :) Do you know anything about other unused material - "Wall Breached", "Path to Heaven", end of "Saladin", beginning (choir part) of "Better Man" and "An Understanding" (except the very beginning)? It`s like at least a half of the official album is missing (and that`s just OST and not the recording sessions).
Has anyone noticed that Harry re-used the exactly same electric cello part from "Better Man" (2:12 - 2:32) in Modern Warfare ("The Coup" 0:33 - 0:53)? Nevertheless Kingdom of Heaven is a brilliant score! Does anyone know which part of the score was left out from the final cut of the movie (and replaced by Vide Cor Meum + 13th Warrior theme)? Thanks
i'm no expert but from what i can hear, kingdom of heaven is harry's great original score, which he has been using themes from ever since for narnia prince of persia and others
Has anyone noticed the Hans Zimmer track in Angels & Demons that was almost exactly like Crusaders? I couldn't believe it when I heard it. By the way, it's not on the album, you need to watch the movie to hear it.
Kingdom of heaven is one of the best soundtracks ever recorded. Absolutely stunning from beginning to end. And like the movie on release ddid not get the praise it deserves. The Directors cut is now a masterpiece and HGW's score is integral to this.
Does ANYONE know where the choral piece that plays RIGHT after the Squire rams the pick through the prisoner's skull can be found? I have the two disc, the retail AND the 3 disc recording session and I CANNOT find it. If ANYONE knows, please, that is my FAVORITE piece of score from the film, I have to find it.
I love all the music from the movie. I was wondering, was that rock song played in the trailer ever released. It was like an instrumental rock and it was surely one of the best songs I've heard in a while even though it only played for a minute. Does anybody know the name of that song if it was released? Anyway, the score was brillant.
