If I had to guess, I would say the purpose of the cue sheet is to determine what goes where...Not to document all the music written/used, necessarily...I dunno. It is a shame, though. The film version of Backup is intense.This reminds me: can anyone tell me why these scores contain cues as originally recorded, but not the final film versions also/instead (like Backup)?JNH's Harvey Dent theme is beautiful.Say what?MTV Trailer Music original version?
this is mgbube and i have to say i am playing the violine and these noise do not sound like harmonics to me it sounds like shit ass recording flub or botched up special effect either way it is annoying is there some way to clean it up thanks mgbubethis is mgbube for ggctuk this is ancient message you have dug up there and this person medivh has never again shown up here so it is not stupid to assume his allegations were false i have very old interviews and will have a look at them sooner or later to clear up what hans said about amount of music composed for masterpiece the lion king thanks mgbubethis is mgbube for ggctuk what artifacts could be introduced into the music by so called downsampling can you please elaborate thanks mgbubethis is mgbube for ggctuk i am telling my idea of what missing music is one has to be the warthog rhapsody because there is no way it can not be the warthog rhapsody please see for yourself on youtube it is there thanks mgbubeYou can't even download and purchase a digital copy anymore. I beginning to doubt a CD...
I would say yes...that choir sounds very much like stock Zimmer choir...Thanks Hybrid!Here we go... :PThank you HybridI could do it but it wouldn't be totally accurate. I mean, some cues are taken from Begins (done by JNH) but here done by HZ... :)

And I don't have all credits for Lorne's work, just partial...

But yeah, I'll do it...
Hybrid did say it was more clear-cut than Batman Begins was, though. Even if specific credits can't be given, it's probably fair to say that "action/epic scenes" = Zimmer material, "anything related to Dent or having to do with tragedy" = Howard.I have a feeling that if Hybrid knew, he'd have posted it already. But, of course, I'd love to be proved wrong! :)Question seconded, if it isn't too much trouble. :)What? Only two composers make up the group Magic Box Music: John Sponsler and Tom Gire.Can you please write who did what?

"Battle of Kerak" sounds like a shady mixture of Prince Caspian and Call of Duty 4. I also hear Gladiator and Black Hawk Down in "Terms". "The King" also sounds identical to "The Battle" from The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe at one point. Interesting.

Actually, "The Coup" theme from Modern Warfare was lifted directly from "Better Man"!

Edmund Meinerts2013-05-14 22:25:12
Kingdom of Heaven predates a lot of the scores you mentioned there...

Mike2013-05-14 23:20:58
Indeed, Edmund, and it seems like it's been the template for some of his work since.

@Prott
No problem!
and yes I happen to do know where a lot of the unused cues were meant to be:

"Path to Heaven"- not quite sure where it was supposed to play. I think it could be when Tiberias leaves (while him and Balian are examining the dead soldiers from Guy's army)

The end of "An Understanding" plays when Balian is speaking to his soldiers before the wall is breached.

The "Better Man" choral part plays when Saladin's troops are launching fireballs at the city and Balian is walking down a passage seeing all the frightened families.

The end of "Saladin" was meant to play when Balian surrenders the city to Saladin- it was replaced by "Family Feud" (from Blade II)

The Choral part at the Beginning of "Wall Breached" was meant to play in that scene at night when Balian is getting ready for the next day of war and Sybilla is cutting her hair. (the percussion part that comes afterwards was edited in there, but meant to play when Saladin's messenger is arriving, before Guy cuts his throat)-was replaced by "Burning the Past" in the film

but you're right- a lot of this music got cut, witch is a shame because it's really good :(

Drake: thanks :)
Do you know anything about other unused material - "Wall Breached", "Path to Heaven", end of "Saladin", beginning (choir part) of "Better Man" and "An Understanding" (except the very beginning)?
It`s like at least a half of the official album is missing (and that`s just OST and not the recording sessions).

@Prott
"Coronation" was replaced by Vide Cor Muem
"Rise a Knight" was replaced by the 13th warrior

Prott reply Replies: 0 || 2011-01-08 00:00:00
Yeah, I think it really is (at least it`s my favourite Harry`s score, together with Chronicles of Narnia, Sinbad and Prince of Persia).

Prott reply Replies: 0 || 2011-01-07 00:00:00
Has anyone noticed that Harry re-used the exactly same electric cello part from "Better Man" (2:12 - 2:32) in Modern Warfare ("The Coup" 0:33 - 0:53)?
Nevertheless Kingdom of Heaven is a brilliant score! Does anyone know which part of the score was left out from the final cut of the movie (and replaced by Vide Cor Meum + 13th Warrior theme)? Thanks

i'm no expert but from what i can hear, kingdom of heaven is harry's great original score, which he has been using themes from ever since for narnia prince of persia and others

Is there any difference between the Sony Classical and the Columbia (USA) version?

Has anyone noticed the Hans Zimmer track in Angels & Demons that was almost exactly like Crusaders? I couldn't believe it when I heard it. By the way, it's not on the album, you need to watch the movie to hear it.

Kingdom of heaven is one of the best soundtracks ever recorded. Absolutely stunning from beginning to end. And like the movie on release ddid not get the praise it deserves. The Directors cut is now a masterpiece and HGW's score is integral to this.

Andrew reply Replies: 0 || 2007-07-30 00:00:00
Does anyone know what is the name of the music played when Godfrey remembers about the mother of Balian?in the director's cut edition.

Does ANYONE know where the choral piece that plays RIGHT after the Squire rams the pick through the prisoner's skull can be found? I have the two disc, the retail AND the 3 disc recording session and I CANNOT find it. If ANYONE knows, please, that is my FAVORITE piece of score from the film, I have to find it.

I love all the music from the movie. I was wondering, was that rock song played in the trailer ever released. It was like an instrumental rock and it was surely one of the best songs I've heard in a while even though it only played for a minute. Does anybody know the name of that song if it was released? Anyway, the score was brillant.
