10 days ago i was a bit reluctant about this next score (from what i heard in the 23minutes -or so- samples). No i much more hyped up

Ds: i would appreciate if you can help me find the music in da trailer because i don't wanna watch anything anymore concerning MOS. I know how WB are marketing their movies and after the 3rd trailer you have stop watching everythin because it's only spoilers spoilers and spoilers (images or plot).

just sayin: please no spoiler on the page :)correct me if i'm wrong, but i understand that inception was leaked just because someone got "jones"-'ed.I don't blame Hans. I know it's watertower.

But this kind of crap and 56 editions and bonus tracks push me to pirate it. So far I haven't purchased 1 WaterTower score although I purchased a looooot of other ones.

And I'm sure I'm not the only one. Score fans don't like several editions of a soundtracks, exclusive apps and stuff. Just sayin'Blame WaterTower, not HZ. They did the same circus with TDKR and Inception (we even fought them with HZ to put the Inception bonus tracks out)... :/Yes. Hans Zimmer seems to be the new Lady Gaga of soundtracks.

Sneek peeks, samples, fan made promos, interviews about how brilliant the score is, featurettes, 1 track that is sold 'accidently' on iTunes a month in advance, trailers, soundcloud, movieticket exclusives...

It's a score goddamnit. It's made for the movie/movie studio/director and not for the fans. I was always glad i am not into a lot of commercial music because of all this hype crap.

Sorry needed to vent. This hype and so called promo's are having an opposite effect on me ^^
I love the distorted bass sound in that trailer! Sounds really crazy. This might be part of the few tracks giving credits to Hans & Junkie XL, because it's more electronic. But who knows...I do think "Flight" is an amazing track, though. If John Williams sees the movie, I'd love to know what he thinks of the score.I agree..... but at the same time i really CAN'T wait for this soundtrack to be released so i'm always glad when a new piece is released :p

Hybrid: as a HZ fan, i really don't know how you can resist!I agree Ed, that's also why I don't listen to any of all this...I agree; most of the samples are lame, too. They purposefully leave the important tracks for the actual release.
I'm probably preaching to the wrong crowd here, but is anyone getting a little sick of the endless procession of streaming tracks, samples, sneak peeks etc.? It just seems like they're cranking the hype wheel WAY too hard. I haven't heard any of the music except what was in the one trailer, but it seems like they're putting up a new cue every couple days now. Chill! Leave some for the album, guys...I found a two minute preview of "Flight Part 2". I'm not Hans Zimmer's biggest fan--I don't like everything he's written, but if you ask me, this was fantastic. Very big and epic. As MGDrone said below, it amazes me that Hans has scored films for the two most (arguably) popular superheroes out there.the question is why release an "exclusif track" for preordered ticket called flight part 2 and put the same cue in flight (the version in the album. nonsense?

plus the transition between the two part is too brutal.Guitwo, you find 1-3 second flexibility with track lengths of songs truly ripped from the CD all the time on youtube. Just because the track is 4:20 instead of 4:18 is hardly a valid argument.
The one on youtube is actually 4'18" long!
anybody know about Flight Part 1? Been looking for it but can't find it....fan made edit i rather say

flight is suppose to be 4:18.
The quality is the same throughout and the only spot that might be copy/pasted is the gab in the middle. I think we may have the full track here ladies and gents :)
There's a 4'18" 'Flight' track on youtube. I wonder if it's the real one or if it's fan made.

It begins with the 60" sample and ends with 'Flight Part 2'. The mid-part sounds like the piece HZ played at the live performance the other night...Can't help but wonder if Disney is not confident about the score to press a CD at its own plants.

"Battle of Kerak" sounds like a shady mixture of Prince Caspian and Call of Duty 4. I also hear Gladiator and Black Hawk Down in "Terms". "The King" also sounds identical to "The Battle" from The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe at one point. Interesting.

Actually, "The Coup" theme from Modern Warfare was lifted directly from "Better Man"!

Edmund Meinerts2013-05-14 22:25:12
Kingdom of Heaven predates a lot of the scores you mentioned there...

Mike2013-05-14 23:20:58
Indeed, Edmund, and it seems like it's been the template for some of his work since.

@Prott
No problem!
and yes I happen to do know where a lot of the unused cues were meant to be:

"Path to Heaven"- not quite sure where it was supposed to play. I think it could be when Tiberias leaves (while him and Balian are examining the dead soldiers from Guy's army)

The end of "An Understanding" plays when Balian is speaking to his soldiers before the wall is breached.

The "Better Man" choral part plays when Saladin's troops are launching fireballs at the city and Balian is walking down a passage seeing all the frightened families.

The end of "Saladin" was meant to play when Balian surrenders the city to Saladin- it was replaced by "Family Feud" (from Blade II)

The Choral part at the Beginning of "Wall Breached" was meant to play in that scene at night when Balian is getting ready for the next day of war and Sybilla is cutting her hair. (the percussion part that comes afterwards was edited in there, but meant to play when Saladin's messenger is arriving, before Guy cuts his throat)-was replaced by "Burning the Past" in the film

but you're right- a lot of this music got cut, witch is a shame because it's really good :(

Drake: thanks :)
Do you know anything about other unused material - "Wall Breached", "Path to Heaven", end of "Saladin", beginning (choir part) of "Better Man" and "An Understanding" (except the very beginning)?
It`s like at least a half of the official album is missing (and that`s just OST and not the recording sessions).

Drake reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-06 00:00:00
@Prott
"Coronation" was replaced by Vide Cor Muem
"Rise a Knight" was replaced by the 13th warrior

Prott reply Replies: 0 || 2011-01-08 00:00:00
Yeah, I think it really is (at least it`s my favourite Harry`s score, together with Chronicles of Narnia, Sinbad and Prince of Persia).

Prott reply Replies: 0 || 2011-01-07 00:00:00
Has anyone noticed that Harry re-used the exactly same electric cello part from "Better Man" (2:12 - 2:32) in Modern Warfare ("The Coup" 0:33 - 0:53)?
Nevertheless Kingdom of Heaven is a brilliant score! Does anyone know which part of the score was left out from the final cut of the movie (and replaced by Vide Cor Meum + 13th Warrior theme)? Thanks

i'm no expert but from what i can hear, kingdom of heaven is harry's great original score, which he has been using themes from ever since for narnia prince of persia and others

Is there any difference between the Sony Classical and the Columbia (USA) version?

Has anyone noticed the Hans Zimmer track in Angels & Demons that was almost exactly like Crusaders? I couldn't believe it when I heard it. By the way, it's not on the album, you need to watch the movie to hear it.

Kingdom of heaven is one of the best soundtracks ever recorded. Absolutely stunning from beginning to end. And like the movie on release ddid not get the praise it deserves. The Directors cut is now a masterpiece and HGW's score is integral to this.

Andrew reply Replies: 0 || 2007-07-30 00:00:00
Does anyone know what is the name of the music played when Godfrey remembers about the mother of Balian?in the director's cut edition.

Does ANYONE know where the choral piece that plays RIGHT after the Squire rams the pick through the prisoner's skull can be found? I have the two disc, the retail AND the 3 disc recording session and I CANNOT find it. If ANYONE knows, please, that is my FAVORITE piece of score from the film, I have to find it.

I love all the music from the movie. I was wondering, was that rock song played in the trailer ever released. It was like an instrumental rock and it was surely one of the best songs I've heard in a while even though it only played for a minute. Does anybody know the name of that song if it was released? Anyway, the score was brillant.
