I just want the Sicily Battle music!Having seen it I can say visually it is incredible, definitely a work of art on that level. What sets it back (for me personally) is the lack of a strong emotional core. The choice to make the animals realistic looks great, but doesnít have the same range that the hand drawn version had in terms of giving the animals the facial characteristics like the original. Soulless might be kind of harsh, but I didnít feel anything throughout. Also doing a shot-for-shot remake probably wasnít the best approach.

Musically though; this definitely was a great reminder as to why the original score is still a classic. Like everyone has said, itís a perfect companion piece that actually fixes some minor flaws and fleshes out some ideas much better. Some important cues missing though.ďAsk The SeaĒ
Oh please be the cue I want...Deluxe edition releases tomorrow
http :// filmmusicreporter .com /2019/07/18/aquaman-deluxe-edition-soundtrack-to-be-released /Didn't Menken do much the same with Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast? I think the only ones who have been the most original with the scores to these remakes have been Danny Elfman and John Debney.

My personal view is this serves as a great compliment to the 1994 soundtrack, not an outright replacement. If you combined the two you'd get quite the meaty soundtrack.

As for the film itself, I highly doubt it will be as 'great' as the original, but that's not to say that it deserves the slating critics have given it either. I personally can't say - I haven't seen it yet.
Recently in China, a movie was released called Looking Up, and the soundtrack was released with Steffen Thum's score and main theme/additional music by Lorne Balfe.I have to agree. It's a stellar score and I love it, but it was written 25 years ago, nevertheless.
Still, credit where credit's due, as you mentioned, the new 'Stampede' is a beast of a track, really added to the original, as well as the 'Battle' cue, awesome stuff for sure.
Haven't seen the movie yet, but I really hope it measures up, at least in the same way the score does. Most of it sounds like a high quality youtube remix to me, honestly. it's serviceable but unnecessary.Probably Zimmer, in 1994. It's part of the demoes he included on the Legacy set so I'd say it's a safe bet.panpipes or flute doesnt matter, i just wondering who composed this :D
haha thatís true :DWasn't expecting any of that so I'm not disappointed :D

So apparently this is out as well as The Golden Circle.. listening now. Canít believe I missed this. And that's why it bugs me so much lol. They're literally the biggest studio out there, so it would've been nice to see them go to the max with this release. Especially since it's one of their most popular IPs if not their most popular IP.BLU-RAY SPECIAL FEATURES:
Deleted Scenes:
Edwards Air Force Base
Charles Returns Home
Mission Prep
Beast MIA
Charles Says Goodbye
Rise of the Phoenix: The Making of Dark Phoenix (5-Part Documentary)
Scene Breakdown: The 5th Avenue Sequence88
How to Fly Your Jet to Space with Beast
Audio Commentary by Simon Kinberg and Hutch Parker
*Commentary available on Blu-ray, iTunes Extras and Movies Anywhere only
-----
no Hans (making of) and no isolated score :/ damn...
Hey, this is Disney we're talking about. Never expect this sort of thing for that. The ONLY film from them that immediately springs to mind that got that the first time round was Frozen.I feel like this is simultaneously the most enjoyable and least interesting Zimmer score of the last several years. It's nice to listen to, but it's basically the 1994 score rerecorded and tweaked in just a few places. Those tweaks do produce some highlights especially in the stampede and final battle sequences, but it's hard to think of this as a major effort, really. Yeah, it's good, but we've known that The Lion King is good for 25 years.I seriously don't understand why they didn't do two separate releases like most musicals do (La La Land comes to mind - perfect release).

A soundtrack album and a score album. No missing tracks, no fuss. And optional 2-CD set containing both.

Instead, they went with a soundtrack album with some of the score and another song album for whatever reason that is lol.The second half of the new "Elephant Graveyard" is basically note for note "I Was Just Trying to Be Brave" from the 1994 version as well, just with a few changes in orchestrationThis is only HGW's score, a good chunk of it was rejected.

I found a bootleg of this one (22 tracks, about 25 minutes if I remember) with SFX... It's bad... When I saw the film, I noticed that Hans's score was weak... In fact there's nothing in it ! No really theme (except a new version of John Williams's Jaws), and the film is based on songs... į__į

But no time to doubt, the excellent Madagascar came after ! :-)

Gavin Greenaway was the orchestra conductor on this. And Nick Glennie-Smith too!

How much score was used in the movie, lengthwise?

nash reply Replies: 0 || 2007-11-04 00:00:00
i think the director wanted it this way, as we all know, hans can deliver at any time to any picture..and the expanded 22 track album isnt that bad in my opinio....

Well i think this score and madagascar wasnt full of Zimmer's music because the movie makers wanted it that way. They wanted to throw in those rock songs everyone knows. So i think thats most likely why Zimmer music isnt the best for these. What he did write was awesome but it wasnt alot

This melody (Some Of My Best Friends Are Sharks) seems to Pearl Harbor themes, but sounds different for an animation.
