this is awesome!!!!Pemberton is probably the most obvious choice right now. I would definitely love to see Pemberton score this oneYep, I received the news too.
Antwerp Sportpaleis is now scheduled on 23rd February 2022, a Wednesday !
Tour postponed to 2022 :'(Asides, Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy, dosen't sound like the two Jumanji written by Jackman, by anymeans, and in prefer those two scores over his Uncharted material, altough i like both.
If you want a Silvestrian-type of action... Edmonson's action writting in the three Uncharted are terrific, specially Among the Thieves and Drake's Deception.i think Uncharted 4 and 2 have the best score. U2 is amazing in all regards but I hope Henry does the movie cause he's better at writing action musicIf is Paramount, expect a digital release, but this people is certainly very difficult to guess...A exclusive clip from the film where some of Zimmer's score can be heard https://youtu.be/EucuM3EuUJA?t=238

Loving the short synth part at the very startIt sounds a JP theme. But also sounds like HZ did arrangements of it. The beginning of "shifu's end" kind of sounds like one. The HZ/Jackman cues for the "splits" and "battle for the scroll" which use it are good, fun cues - but they're kind of awkward and stop/start compared to JP's smoother, more confident arrangements. And they notably don't use the whole theme only fragmented bits where as the JP/Smith cues "prison", "the bridge", "shifu's end" make use of the entire theme and sound more comfortable with the frenetic orchestra material. Just my opinion though.
Jungleland is getting released in cinemas and on streaming Nov. 6 and 10 respectively. I hope Lorne's score gets a release alongside it, as the film sounds like it has some good scoring potential.Well, the two scores by Jackman are good, neither as good as Edmonson's previous work in the franchise, if Naughty Dog have to choose a composer, Edmonson is my choice.

As for comparations with Tom's Tomb Raider, remember, this franchise is a more classical adventure than a survival action. If he's one of Jackman's best,I hope naughty dog will hire him again. I just hope that the film does not present a score as loose as Tom's tomb raidervery excited!!!
@hybrid theme by hans and the rest david? :PThe soundtrack to Uncharted 4 in my opinion is one of the best Henry has done along with first class. I hope and pray he does the movie although I have no hope for that film. But unfortunately the director likes to work with Ludwig so I donít think Henry will do it. But I pray he does
Milan Records is going to release it, they said it in his Twitter. But Rupert's Scores are always good!Rupert's scores for Adam Sandler comedies are almost never released...

With reason, it's usually 50 cues, 30 sec each !Not always, they released Hubie Halloween last week (which was scored by Rupert Gregson-Williams) and it recieved no score release.Or Pemberton.

Harry Gregson-Williams maybe not, after what happen in Covenant and Marc Streitenfeld is an off and on choice.

Just listen Bloodshot OST again and I like it better than for the first time. Yes there is a lot of sounddesign elements, but quiet and melodic moments are good at some parts. My favorite track is "Bloodshot". For me this work, despite all the problems, is far better than Spencer Confidential.

There is extremely need of new Sci-Fi (not like Bloodshot, lol) or Fantasy project for Steve to work on. I'm fairly certain that he could provide amazing music for this genres, but for some reason.
Also, I've listened a few tracks from his "Keanu" score (posted on his new website) and it's wonderful, hope there will be a full release sometime. This one reminds me of another genre where Steve is good - comedy and parody movies - "Your Highness", "Pain and Gain", "Sims 3" (yes, it's a game score but it has that comedy atmosphere I'm talking about) all are really great scores for its genre.

For me "Eternals" from Marvel could be a good movie for Steve to work. And honestly, I would like to see what he could brings to "Godzilla vs Kong" crossover more than Junkie XL.

At least I hope that Katsuhiro Otomo would like to work with Steve again on his new anime project "Orbital Era", truly a dream-project.

MrZimmerFan2020-09-21 20:08:55
Not only better than Spenser, it's better than Skyscraper.

Ok, Bloodshot maybe isn't one of the best works by Jablonsky, but after such disappointing with Skyscraper, see Jab in a work with choir, guitars, cool themes (if don't catch the similarities between KT's theme with the Autobots theme ;D) and good action writing (hang in there, i'm not going say is something good as Steamboy or Your Highness, even some of the Transformers/The Island stuff), as for the sound design, i prefer people like Jab, Zimmer or Holkenborg MORE than something dreadful as Reznor/Ross

superultramegaa2020-09-21 23:14:29
Can't really agree that much with Bloodshot. The reason I was able to be engaged in Jablonsky's past scores similar to this (e.g. TF5, TMNT 2) was his strong melodic voice. Even in the more sound design parts of those scores there was at least several themes that I enjoyed, easily identified, and analyzed some lovely development for them.

Bloodshot doesn't really have that, it's got themes so minimal (except for KT which I can't really enjoy because the melody sounds identical to "Optimus"), that whatever development is there, I feel nothing toward because it's easy and boring to develop a theme that's basically just a series of chords.

Keanu I can't entirely judge Jablonsky for as it was also Nathan Whitehead's score, but it just sounds like Bloodshot 0.5 to me. Guitar chords, sound design, string ostinatos, wandering piano theme, been there done that.

Good lord, do I hope Steve works on Orbital Era though. It would be so refreshing to hear a full-on orchestral Jablonsky score again.

MrZimmerFan2020-09-22 09:53:20
Because i don't support the idea of 'only good scores are full orchestral', don't agree with that statement.

Yes, i love Your Highness and Steamboy, aslo really like stuff like TF (except the four) and TMNT 2. But also something like Pain & Gain, Bloodshot, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th or the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Deepwater Horizon, even i consider (unpopular opinion) guilty pleasure Battleship.

Yes, i'm weird :p

superultramegaa2020-09-22 17:57:29
I never made the statement that only orchestral scores are good. I like the TF movies, Halo soundtracks, a lot of Hans Zimmer works including Interstellar.

However, i have little appreciation or interest in scores with little to no melody besides basic progressions. I need a heart to my score, not just music that works for the movie.

I Really like the return of Steve Jablonsky's film scores and bloodshot & spenser confidential are my two favorite Jablonsky's Soundtracks Of 2020. In my opinion, bloodshot Is a great superhero score and the movie (with i see the film) with Vin diesel's performances Is Awsome. In Spenser Confidential, the electronic score Is very thrilling score to hear and also reteaming with peter berg and an great performances Of the cast. In My Opinion, Steve Jablonsky's creative is not lost and he is a good composer

Bayhem2020-03-26 17:45:17
I'm really enjoying the Spenser Confidential score. Not as awesome as Pain and Gain (what is??) but very easy on the ears. I'm digging it.

Still haven't heard Bloodshot.

Edmund Meinerts2020-03-26 18:11:00
"bloodshot & spenser confidential are my two favorite Jablonsky's Soundtracks Of 2020"

You're aware this is a bit like saying "coronavirus is my favorite pandemic of 2020"? The choices are pretty limited.

MrZimmerFan2020-03-26 21:49:53
Edmund, that comment is bit too much, don't you think?

Jack Afrogarrix2020-03-27 02:21:38
I agree with MrZimmerFan, the comment that edmund did was too much and i did comment about the composer's film score in 2020. I didn't say it like that. Look i just an young guy who likes soundtracks of films very much and i know there is an pandemic in the world and i trying to be positive while this is happening and i hear film music because i like to hear music of every film composers.

superultramegaa2020-03-27 04:02:34
@Jack Afrogarrix

Edmund is being positive. He's finding humor in the world's current situation instead of being negative, sensitive, and depressed about it. We're all trying to stay positive na enjoy film scores right now.

Just because Edmund is doing it in a way you don't like doesn't mean he's being negative. Lighten up guys, it was a joke.

rockhound2020-03-27 09:08:20
The comment by Jack Afrogarrix doesn't make sense. Spenser Confidential and Bloodshot are the ONLY Jablonsky soundtracks in 2020 so far. "My two favourite Jablonsky soundtracks of 2020" would only make sense, if there would be already more released than these two by Jablonsky in 2020.

MrZimmerFan2020-03-27 10:05:08
@superultramegaa:

Yeah, now is about to be positive, but that comment is a bit to far not just for the circunstances, also because, we talk about soundtracks and comment, not other things.

Leave the covid19, for other things, ok?

Ds2020-03-28 09:59:51
Canít believe another typical comment by Jack Afrogarrix was able to trigger a whole debate... The corona effect, I guess...

Sadly this one failed to impress in any way for me. I felt like falling asleep for much of this album. Overall too simplistic, ugly, and cliched with very difficult to pin down thematic material, as the melodies are so minimalist.

MrZimmerFan2020-02-28 08:50:20
I found myself more entertaining by this one (after multiple listenings) than with Skyscraper, but not more than TLK or TMNT and TLWH.

The themes are there, very simplistic, but effective (the melodie for RST twisted in 'Harting', for example or the more melodic and peaceful theme in 'KT'), and yes, the sound design, but in the defense of Jab, he is far more rhytmic than others attepmting it (the element of horror hearing in 'Martin Axe' or the percussive twisted agressive in 'The Tunnel') or the more echoing 'The Island' guitar riffs in 'Ray Garrison', even he reutilizes the percussive timing Decepcticon theme for the motif (i think) for Bloodshot.

Maybe, i gave him more credit, but in his defense, i was expecting something more electronic (plenty electronic are here), but is more orchestral and melodic i was expecting.

MrZimmerFan2020-03-08 09:43:01
Saw the movie (open the past Friday in my country), the score works really good (there missed portions of choir in album), but enterally is the same as the album, except the suites.

Also:

Penka Konueva - Lead Orchestrator
Larry Rench - Orchestrator
Bryce Jacobs - Programming
Christian Wibe - Additional Music

Booker White - Music Preparator

Bayhem2020-03-08 11:13:47
(there missed portions of choir in album)

======================

See, that's the thing I really hate. Removing choir parts. They did it with Transformers and apparently it's the same here.

I don't get why it's happening. The choir work alone can elevate an entire score. Especially a dramatic action score.

Hybrid Soldier2020-03-08 11:35:43
Because if the choir is US recorded, it costs a LOT to publish !

So many labels rather go with sampled choir from demos etc. It was a Varese specialty for many years (Evolution by Powell, for instance).

superultramegaa2020-03-08 16:19:55
That's another frustrating thing. Steve was such a wizard with choirs for the longest time.

Even back to Steamboy, whenever the choir appeared, it was utilized beautifully, but now it's either missing, or is done with samples, which is nowhere near as interesting to me.

MrZimmerFan2020-03-08 17:14:56
Not all choir in movies are real these days, not only for Hans and guys.

Rembember The Last Airbender?, the choir in the movie is real, but in the album was the sample version, and believe, in that time, i can't if was real, but it was good.

superultramegaa reply Replies: 2 || 2020-02-15 15:09:55
And an honest criticism of a score is deleted because... why?

Hybrid Soldier2020-02-15 15:46:28
Because I have better things to do than get home and see it escalated into some shit show thread full of trolling.

When that happens, I don't do the police, it's gone.

And trust me I really don't care if it displeases anyone. And if it drives people away from that site ? I don't care either. It's not a commercial website you know, no one's making money out of it (apart from the free publicity it offers to composers, obviously lol), we don't have ads. So I'm not running after clicks. If comments cross the (I should say my) line, the get the boot. If trolls think I don't recognize their IPs when they change names or even try to play the smart asses giving a "fair opinion" hiding a true trolling agenda. Get the boot too.

Again, not happy ? Go on Twitter or other film music boards.

Actually, i quite like this one more than Skyscraper.

It's not bad at all!!

superultramegaa2020-02-14 01:32:14
Overall it's not impressive for Jablonsky. He's certainly done far better, but compared to Skyscraper's preview this one at least shows some promise. It's aesthetically gorgeous, the first half's melody is quite nice! Not a fan of the more minimalist writing Steve has used lately though...

Evenstar2020-02-14 21:28:16
I have to agree... the Score is not up with Jablonskys previous work. Not recommended.
