Most probablyI am not a hybrid, i will try to give my opinion. I think, music in 5 season will come out when and 6 season. But I really want to be wrong!!! :)It's very sad...(((The 'Allentown Brothers' track is pretty damn awesome (find it on YouTube). It's like a mix between gothic Elfman, Desperate Housewives and Transformers. I love it.

It's one of those scores that people don't talk about much but it's actually pretty cool.

An awesome venue would be the Opera House in Odessa.
Want this so bad!!!Does anyone have a breakdown of this with the official score album?
Hats off to Batu Sener for working on many of the score's best cues though!It all comes to personal preference I think. Personally I’ve moved on from collecting cd’s (or anything really) and would rather have everything digital simply to utilize space.

That being said, I completely understand the appeals of having physical media, it would be sad to see that go away for the people who really love it.It's not only to appreciate the work, its to have something "real" in your hands, for your music collection. I don't like only to have a digital music archive. Of course, i rip all the cds i own to WAV and MP3. But i want to have them in my physical music collection.
These day, sure. But we usually get news of the next one by the time he's finished wrapping up the current one.Powell only does 1 score a year.Still no news on his next score? Is he taking a break or something? Working on more concert stuff?Was pleasantly surprised by this one when I first heard it. Outside of the ‘modern scoring’ portions you get some fun noir music for the squad, solid action writing, and even some good emotional cues.

Also gotta love the rhythmic idea from Antz popping up here...Also, the use of the guitars by Jablonsky, are still the best since the 90s
I give a spin (almost 4 years after my last listening), it grown on me (still don't consider of the best of Jab), but much better than Skyscraper (ok score) and Battleship (guilty pleasure, but not a good score by any means), i like the style of Jablonsky in this one, his rhythms (but i still don't care about the 'motif' for Cohen or certain sound design tracks like 'You Can't Shoot Me' or 'You Know the Drill')

But still has such cool action moments (Hot Potato With a Grenade) and emotional/romantic moments, and still enjoyed that from this.<3 Buck Takes the LeadHybrid do you know what cues Mancina worked on here? I read in the Twister booklet that the director heard a cue from this and wanted Hans for Twister but he told him that it was actually Mark.100% for HybridSoldier!I am very glad we have 2 scores by Steve this year. Waiting for Spenser Confidential.

@Hybrid
Night Hunter Soundtrack

Music By Alex Lu and produced by Benjamin Wallfisch
Alex Lu works on RCP? Benjamin is only producer or he made additional music?
Thanks

Knight2019-09-08 01:06:29
Alex Lu is one of Ben's techies, he also wrote additional music for Hellboy

Having heard the whole album a few times and gone through the process of what Wallfisch tried to do with his music for Shazam, this is not only the best DC album in years, it's also powerful enough to sit alongside (or at least close to) Williams's Superman. This is by and large (unless Hans comes back with a game changer for Dark Phoenix), the winning superhero film score of 2019.

Well played, Wallfisch!

It’s excellent in every respect. The orchestrations, mixing, and writing are all fantastic. The album does run a bit long (not a bad thing of course) and there are a lot of action cues piled on top of each other, but with some editing you have 50 minutes of Five-Star material.

While the score itself is great, I think Ben needs to use somebody like Alan Meyerson to mix his scores. I noticed that on almost every single one of his scores since A Cure for Wellness his mixing/recordings have been a bit shit. The mix problem is EXTREMELY prominent in Serenity, The Darkest Minds, Hellboy, Hostile Planet and to a lesser extent, Shazam and Wellness.
His scores are starting to sound too dry and "synthy" for lack of a better word. Listen to the orchestral recordings in Hostile Planet and Serenity, can anyone honestly tell me that they sound good?
I would love nothing better than to get another score from him on the level of Summer in February, Mully or Gamba cause those sound great.

Gotta say I somewhat disagree with the lavish praise here. The main theme is fantastic; the melody itself isn't that memorable, but the quality of the orchestral writing surrounding it is high. Indeed, the orchestrations and textures are of a very high standard throughout. However, far from there being 50 minutes of 5* material, I find that outside the suite presentation, the rest of the score feels messy. It's one of those scores that reacts to what's happening onscreen rather than actively driving it, so there are a ton of changes of direction. I feel like you can sort of tell that the director comes from a horror background because there's a lot of that stop-start quality you get from horror scores in the action music here, and I'm not a fan of that philosophy. I much prefer action music to have a more constant pulse while still developing in a dynamic way to match the scene (my perfect example of that balance being the wedding cue from At World's End).

Apparently there was a 3rd score release from Ben this that just flew under the radar. A documentary score no less.

and why isn’t it on here?

Knight2019-04-07 02:29:16

The staff here don't seem to care too much as of late about adding new stuff from RCP composers that aren't the big names. Jasha and Atli are still missing their latest efforts, and the new release of one of Mancina's old scores ain't here.

Probably because it'd be a good time for me to stop H-Z.com after 11 years ?

Are you stopping upkeep of this website in favor of the new one you mentioned earlier?

A few minutes ago about WaterTower Music release subway chase on YouTube today! It's a cool song.

Sounds fantastic.

mpolonest123 reply Replies: 2 || 2019-03-29 02:02:04
That main theme is incredible!

It’s basically a mix of John Williams and Wallfisch, and if the rest of the score is the same quality we might have one of the best scores this year.

Michael Baker2019-03-29 03:59:39
I agree. Great stuff. It's nice to hear some fun superhero bombast every once in a while. If the rest of the score is like the cues we've heard, I'll definitely be getting this one.

mpolonest123 2019-03-30 15:30:14
Does anyone else feel like 2:15-3:00 sounds exactly like Wallfisch’s “flying” music for “Peter Pan”?

Little side note: the minute I heard the song I immediately thought of the main tune from “Islands of Adventure” (Call To Adventure). Great theme if you haven’t had a chance to check it out...

I can't wait for this. After the debacle of JL, The DCEU has got back on track musically with Aquaman serving harmonic and electronic interpolation in spades, and Shazam seems to capitalize on that with a more traditional sound.

MG reply Replies: 2 || 2019-03-29 03:59:17
29 tracks? Woohoo!

Edmund Meinerts2019-03-29 10:47:06
I'd rather have 10 tracks and 70 minutes than 29 tracks and 40 minutes. :p

Iamtommie2019-03-29 13:10:20
It's 1 hour and 13 minutes long
