Booklet info: https ://imgur.com/a /D2vY6Fmwhere did you get that ?This is my most anticipated score of 2019. The two previous ones were great and I hope this one is even better.<br><br>Cannot wait!Hey guys where can i download the complete soundtrack ?That's a great news!
Alita ia going to be release by Milan RecordsCan't freaking wait for this. The series ends with a bang!Coming soon !So this is basically a Mazzaro scoreIt's great but sadly it's only used in the end credits :-(<br>I suspect it might have been an alternate version of the opening scene.<br><br>Anyway the rest of the score is absolutely stunning, a good balance between heavy action and themes (and incredible choir). A new high in JXL's career, let's hope the OST release does it justice.
get this a cd-release too<br>Don't forget the pointless changes like the opening title music for AUE being replaced with an E Major version of The Shire and Gandalf's Farewells for some reason. Or temp tracking earlier pieces of the film in for later scenes.Tom just released "London Suite in C Major" on his YouTube channel, and I am really loving it. He's usually hit-or-miss for me, but this cue in particular really intrigues me. Sounds like he merged the orchestral sections of Fury Road with the flighty ballads of Hollywood Golden Age music.CD Release?Will there be a Blu-ray release for this as well. I had heard that the Hollywood in Vienna award show that is essentially the same set would get a Blu-ray release.
Especially in the first one, there's a ton of LOTR themes needledropped even though Shore wrote original material for those exact scenes that you can hear on the album, and also there are themes used in scenes where they don't belong at all. Oh and the main theme of the first one and a couple of the secondary ones completely disappear from the second and third moviesLot of Mazzaro credits hereJackson use more LOTR music than the original music created for the movie.<br><br>Altough, Watertower releases respect the material written by Shore (as he wanted)Skipped the Hobbit films. How so was the music mistreated in those?Peej only produced this film, didn't direct it, and also I sorta think he and Howard Shore don't have the warmest of relationships considering the King Kong firing and then the way the music was mistreated in the Hobbit films.

Speaking of bad covers...

MJ2018-12-08 23:23:48
For reals. I felt so bad for Rupert that this was all that was offered to represent his score. looks like someone hustled a quick redesign though https://twitter.com/MikhahThomas/status/1071501461215956992

Everan2018-12-09 18:28:25
Made this one myself, if anyone's interested.

@Everan your cover is really nice, I like it!!

Jamal2018-12-09 21:57:32
Both of these redesigns are great!

Hybrid are there plans to release junkieís Mortal Engines?

Edmund Meinerts2018-12-04 09:13:38
Why wouldn't there be?

Ds2018-12-04 09:31:16
Because nothing has been announced yet and the movie opens in some places (including mine) tomorrow... :-p

MrZimmerFan2018-12-04 10:31:17
Mostly, in this cases, the releases are coming togheter wigh the US release in theatres

Ds2018-12-04 10:47:02
That's also what I expect, but usually they at least announce something a few weeks in advance: label, date, tracklist, etc. For the moment there's nothing. Even Junkie XL doesn't mention anything on his fb page.

Paul2018-12-04 21:13:38
On Junkieís instagram is a little clip where he talks about the music for mortal engines

MrZimmerFan2018-12-04 22:31:21
Also, in the comments, he says the score comes the same day as the movie

George2018-12-04 22:46:12
Ahh, gotcha, thanks MrZimmerFan

I am excited about Mortal Engines only because I feel like this is Junkie XL's best chance to score something unique, powerful, and impressive. He hasn't done a good score since Mad Max imo.

MrZimmerFan2018-12-06 17:34:38
Expect a lot, lot of brass ;) and certain sound design

mpolonest123 2018-12-06 17:53:08
Iím in the same boat. The past few years have been disappointing in terms of Junkieís output. Most of the scores heís written have been rehashes of his earlier (and arguably) stronger works. You have the harsh drumming, sound design, and power anthems overlaid with electronics. It seems like heís been on repeat since 2015.

While I doubt Mortal Engines or Alita: Battle Angel will be much different, Iím still hoping that he can at least surprise everyone with a consistently strong score.

Really excited to hear this score. RGW has proven he can do big-budget superhero films with Wonder Woman, I have a lot of confidence in him.

ek792018-12-06 10:44:43
Indeed !!

Mike reply Replies: 15 || 2018-11-27 19:14:33
So if RGW is consistently doing these films...and Hans is back for Wonder Woman...can we assume Elfman's Justice League was just a blip on the DC radar?

Hari Haran2018-11-27 21:09:39
That is exactly what that was. A minor, albeit very irritating accident.

Things are back on track, though. :)

Knight2018-11-27 21:18:54
I wonder who will be the composers for all these spinoff films ex. Birds of Prey, The Batman, Flash etc as apparently Hildur Gudnadottir is scoring the Joker film. So maybe the RCP hold on the DC films is weakening :(

Mephariel2018-11-28 00:39:29
I think with the spinoff films, and the detachment from the DCEU, it totally make sense to move away from RCP because directors will have more of a say how they want those films to look and sound like, so they probably will hand pick composers more in line with their own vision rather than just following the train.

That is not a bad thing at all.

Meta2018-11-28 02:18:42
I second this. I think DC should keep things on the RCP plane to stay relevant and consistent. I say this because Zimmer seems to be falling by the wayside in terms of popularity....Hopefully he comes back to it.

Randy Watson2018-11-28 13:24:57
Well, it was nice while it lasted. Back to the One Sound Fits All approach I guess.

Curious which temp track RGW will ripp off this time :)

Mephariel2018-11-28 16:48:34
Zimmer will have Dark Phoenix, The Lion King, Wonder Woman 1984, and Top Gun: Maverick in the next 2 years. I wouldn't worry about Zimmer falling to the wayside.

Edmund Meinerts2018-11-28 18:33:16
Any "wayside falling" by Zimmer of late has largely been by his own choice, due to spending so much time touring. The 2015-2018 period has had some of the lowest activity of Zimmer's career IMO, with a lot of the scores he's involved in being highly collaborative (even moreso than usual), rather minor works, or both. I'd say the only Zimmer scores to come out in that period that you could call significant are Batman v Superman, Dunkirk, and maaaaybe Chappie (although that one has a lot of Mazzaro/Andrew K involvement).

Mephariel2018-11-28 19:15:33
You can pretty much tell which project he was highly involved in by his interviews. I think he did a lot of Dunkirk and Blue Planet II, and was somewhat involved in Hidden Figures, Batman v Superman, and Inferno, and only marginally involved in Blade Runner 2049, The Boss Baby, and Planet Earth II.

Hari Haran2018-11-28 19:46:50
And KFP 3 and Inferno too, Edmund.

Hybrid Soldier2018-11-28 21:06:10
"Somewhat" involved with BvS ???????

Every single melody in that film was written by him...

Mephariel2018-11-28 23:47:54
Hybrid, that is why you need to create a forum so we can have an edit button :).

Edmund Meinerts2018-11-29 09:50:13
Inferno is in the same category as Charlie for me, feels like Mazzaro/AK did a lot of the grunt work, and KFP3 is one of the collaborative scores I mentioned with only a few Zimmer cues.

Edmund Meinerts2018-11-29 09:50:58
*Chappie, not Charlie. What was that about an edit button? :p

Anonymous2018-12-02 00:39:27
ok RGW has written some of his best stuff Hacksaw Ridge was one of the best. wonder woman was really good Aquaman I am curious to see what he did with I'm sure It will be good and he doesn't rip off other stuff Hacksaw Ridge was a prime example very fresh and enjoyable.

Hari Haran2018-12-04 18:31:04
> "Somewhat" involved with BvS ???????

Excuse me, I'll be right back, I just have to finish laughing my ass off for every idiot on this thread and outside of it who confidently thought otherwise. XD

HIGH QUALITY H2O! Now with ELECTROLYTES!

Waterboy is the prequel to Aquaman.

Joshua reply Replies: 1 || 2018-11-27 23:25:53
Got to hear this the other day and it is phenomenal. Definitely more electronics than I was expecting (in a good way). Itís got a great blend of Orchestra, electronics and electric guitars throughout. Thereís even a reoccurring riff in it that reminds me of Raminís Clash of the Titans. Closest thing I can compare it to is Brian Tylerís Power Rangers score, but with a much beefier Zimmer sound.

Paul2018-11-29 19:32:36
Nice! Can't wait to hear it.

George reply Replies: 0 || 2018-11-27 19:50:18
Definitely excited for this. Itís been a down year for me in terms of RCP scores (Fallout and Solo being the big highlights for me) so hopefully this one turns out well.

mpolonest123 reply Replies: 0 || 2018-11-27 19:17:12
Going off of James Wanís comments it seems like the film will have more of a ďswashbucklingĒ tone. Hopefully the music will be more adventurous in style (while still fitting in the established DCEU style of course).

RGW is a solid composer though, so Iím not worried.

Mephariel reply Replies: 0 || 2018-11-27 18:58:58
