Sadly this one failed to impress in any way for me. I felt like falling asleep for much of this album. Overall too simplistic, ugly, and cliched with very difficult to pin down thematic material, as the melodies are so minimalist. To whom it may concern...

Is it possible to download or in any other way purchase the Hannibal (Expanded) score somewhere? I have the original motion picture soundtrack, but would LOVE to have them both..

Best regards

Nicholas10 and 16 are missing from the store pack. Most probablyI am not a hybrid, i will try to give my opinion. I think, music in 5 season will come out when and 6 season. But I really want to be wrong!!! :)
It's very sad...(((The 'Allentown Brothers' track is pretty damn awesome (find it on YouTube). It's like a mix between gothic Elfman, Desperate Housewives and Transformers. I love it.

It's one of those scores that people don't talk about much but it's actually pretty cool.

An awesome venue would be the Opera House in Odessa.Want this so bad!!!Does anyone have a breakdown of this with the official score album?
Hats off to Batu Sener for working on many of the score's best cues though! It all comes to personal preference I think. Personally I’ve moved on from collecting cd’s (or anything really) and would rather have everything digital simply to utilize space.

That being said, I completely understand the appeals of having physical media, it would be sad to see that go away for the people who really love it.It's not only to appreciate the work, its to have something "real" in your hands, for your music collection. I don't like only to have a digital music archive. Of course, i rip all the cds i own to WAV and MP3. But i want to have them in my physical music collection. These day, sure. But we usually get news of the next one by the time he's finished wrapping up the current one.Powell only does 1 score a year.
Still no news on his next score? Is he taking a break or something? Working on more concert stuff? Was pleasantly surprised by this one when I first heard it. Outside of the ‘modern scoring’ portions you get some fun noir music for the squad, solid action writing, and even some good emotional cues.

Also gotta love the rhythmic idea from Antz popping up here...Also, the use of the guitars by Jablonsky, are still the best since the 90sI give a spin (almost 4 years after my last listening), it grown on me (still don't consider of the best of Jab), but much better than Skyscraper (ok score) and Battleship (guilty pleasure, but not a good score by any means), i like the style of Jablonsky in this one, his rhythms (but i still don't care about the 'motif' for Cohen or certain sound design tracks like 'You Can't Shoot Me' or 'You Know the Drill')

But still has such cool action moments (Hot Potato With a Grenade) and emotional/romantic moments, and still enjoyed that from this.<3 Buck Takes the Lead

Shame that "Cliff View - Plane Crash" and "Diana Tests Her Strength" weren't on the OST, they're very good.

Not any Suite on the CS??

T-Mann0362018-08-30 23:13:31
The search for the suites now begin.

Hybrid Soldier2018-08-30 23:16:34
Not every composer works like HZ with theme suites.

The only suite here is Action Reaction and it's Andrew.

em2018-09-03 20:34:09
I know you've probably been asked this before, Hybrid. But does Hans write suites for all of his scores? Even ones that aren't released/recorded?

Hybrid Soldier2018-09-03 21:19:46
Mostly, yes...

But I'll take an example, Rush, he wrote the main theme to picture directly with Ron Howard & Peter Morgan in the room.

Bryce Jacobs did develop a suite "Guitar F1", but that's a score Hans really attacked "to picture". Did he however have a file on his computer somewhere called "Rush Theme Demo v1.1", well probably too !

David2018-09-03 22:21:20
How many films has Hans scored to picture? Do you know which ones?

em2018-09-05 19:21:02
Every film is scored to picture surely.

I was just asking about the themes. Thanks Hybrid.

After listening to this complete film score, there are two tracks that I personally enjoy the best-- Fighting In Veld and Killing Ludendorff. And I thought adding Wonder Woman and Action Reaction were the ultimate icing on the cake at the conclusion of the entire picture!

T-Mann036 reply Replies: 0 || 2018-08-30 04:21:34
The Wonder Woman complete score is ultimately one of the best film soundtracks ever made. Rupert Gregson-Williams is the truth!

Overall: 5 stars!

Glad this is finally out!

Hybrid, any idea why Hans is only credited on certain cues for the WW theme? The rhythmic portion is used throughout. (Training Diana, Alley Shootout, etc.)

Hybrid Soldier2018-08-30 00:17:41
It's the cuesheet, I guess they thought Hans (and Junkie, who's credited for being BvS co-compo) didn't deserve money for those... lol

bill2018-08-30 00:19:09
you are right. It’s in those too.

mpolonest1232018-08-30 00:27:28
Lol wow, I guess a good way to save a buck.

A few others where the theme appears: Diana Tests Her Strength, He Cannot Shoot, Diana Wins, Only Love, Diana Enters Ballroom.

Hybrid Soldier2018-08-30 00:29:38
Well crediting a composer for using a... baseline ?

Credit Hans where you want, no one will mind !

mpolonest1232018-08-30 00:36:48
All in all this is a really solid score, with quite a bit unreleased. You have the London material which takes a page from Sherlock Holmes, the “Selfridges” cue (which is so bizarre but fun), the beach battle, and the “Steve Says Goodbye” track which should have been included on the OST.

Wow

Anonymous2018-08-30 00:10:29
The hans zimmer theme is definitely in more than those tracks!
