I’ve been coming back to “But I Will Always Be Faster” and “Sonic The Hedgehog” repeatedly, I’m genuinely impressed by how strong the writing is in both cues. Honestly it doesn’t sound like Holkenborg (mixing aside).Hi there,<br><br>i have seen that the Score (Soundtrack) will be released on 27th of march. But i would like to know somthing maybe any of you knows:<br><br>Will the Song itself be released physical as a Single CD? Or will it be available just for download?<br>Because if there will be no CD, it would be the first James Bond Song which is not released as a Single CD.Rejected scores have gotten official releases before, such as Timeline by Jerry Goldsmith. So even if the Snyder Cut never gets released, I'd hope Junkie could potentially still work out a deal to get his original score out there. I avoided bringing up the TF films in this thread until AFTER you dragged them into it.<br>===============<br><br>No one dragged anything. <br><br>I briefly mentioned that franchise, among many other things you conveniently ignored (you do that a lot), to prove a simple point: that a director doesn't get to make 5 movies from the same franchise if people aren't enjoying his work. Henry has this big tendency on every single OST release to remix everything and remove a big deal of electronic layers & percussions (which is a very bad decision in my book, it's like Backdraft OST which has half of HZ's electronics removed)...

Keep the EP of that score, it has the cues "untouched". Have fun comparing them with the final OST tracks, you'll notice all that got removed in the process...

Meta2018-09-29 11:49:09
He took out his electronics? What? That's kinda what made his scores so good....They had a tempo and shit.

Edmund Meinerts2018-09-29 12:11:05
I actually kinda prefer the OST version of the cues for Backdraft...

Has Jackman done that on previous scores? I have to say I never noticed that before.

Hybrid Soldier2018-09-29 12:34:39
Pretty every single OST release since 2014...

John F2018-09-29 16:18:15
Wait Dirty Dozen is only on the EP as well?? Jeez why would they do that?

mpolonest123 2018-09-29 16:54:11
And that’s why you don’t take criticisms to heart. Winter Soldier was a genuinely good score that used its electronics effectively. That would be like Lorne Balfe ditching his writing style because some “purists” got upset at Mission Impossible.

Edmund Meinerts2018-09-29 18:13:16
I highly doubt that has anything to do with it. If anything, the lesson from that should have been "don't leave the best cue off the album" (the Dom Lewis arrangement of the main theme from the end credits)

(also that score is still terrible and the Winter Soldier theme is a disgrace)

mpolonest123 2019-07-12 18:04:51
Finally got around to seeing this film and I was shocked at how campy it really is. There is some genuinely funny writing courtesy of Shane Black, but all of that is undercut by some terrible CGI and that horrible ending. Pretty disappointed as someone who enjoyed the first two Predator films.

Henry Jackman’s score is functional, and I really admire that he kept the Silvestri flavor. That being said, much of the “hero” music actually took me out of the film. It’s one of those cases where the music on album flows really well but doesn’t always work 100% on screen. Another issue for me was the mixing. Whereas Debney’s score is mixed harsher with a more brutal, percussive edge,
this felt flat to me for some reason.

And going off of what Hybrid mentioned, there definitely were some cool electronic layers that were removed from the album. (The alpha predator motif for example)

I just watched the movie!! I heard a lot of Silvestri & I thought the music was awesome. It's, from what I could hear, in the same scoring style as Kong & Jumanji. I personally, really love his new kind of scoring. Awesome music!

ThePhantasm2018-09-14 06:12:04
Lakeshore records released an EP not an actual album. I'm so pissed. Should of been La-Land records releasing this. the EP literally has no more than 6 mins of music. I was so excited for this score

Mephariel2018-09-14 07:33:50
I just listened to "The Arrival." Awesome track. It totally captures the tone of the original score. I can't wait to hear the rest of the score.

Russel2018-09-14 09:47:42
Yeah, not sure why they're doing this, but a full album is supposedly releasing at the end of this month.

September 27th.

Meta2018-09-26 19:56:59
SO far everything I have heard from the EP pales in comparison to John Debneys efforts in "Predators".

Maybe they haven't released Jackman's insane genius queues yet....Here's hoping.

Anonymous2018-09-26 20:07:16
Remember... Debney's score was critized for be only ''copy and paste'' of the Silvestri's material.

Such underrated score, and The Predator is not exception

MrZimmerFan2018-09-26 20:12:46
Ugh, the last comment was me, i forget put the name in it :)

mpolonest123 2018-09-26 21:40:44
Debney’s score was definitely much more than a rehash of the original, although I can understand some of the criticisms that he didn’t necessarily bring much “new” material to the table. Still a kickass score though.

Based on the EP material it sounds like Jackman is putting more of his voice than what Debney did. And the “Dirty Dozen” material sounds fun, I’m hoping the rest holds up.

MrZimmerFan2018-09-27 11:05:11
When saw the movie the last week (was just fun), and there is a lot of Silvestri's mamerisms, and themes from the original Predator

MrZimmerFan2018-09-27 14:41:49
Out in New Zealand, different cover and posted tracklist

MrZimmerFan2018-09-27 19:26:12
Well, now you can choose the artwork cover :)

mpolonest123 2018-09-28 15:20:30
Just took a listen and I’m liking the end result. It’s as if Jackman took the “flavor” of Alan Silvestri, but still kept his own writing style. I definitely hear a lot of Kong: Skull Island and the Captain America scores. One big surprise is the minimal use of electronics, especially compared to Debney.

Anonymous2018-09-28 20:29:49
@mpolonest123
I won't be surprised if he cut electronic stuff for the album versions. He's been doing that to his albums for almost everything since after Winter Soldier.

While Henry Jackman isn’t my favorite composer out there I’m excited to
hear what he does with this. He’s proven that he can write similar to Silvestri with portions of the Captain America scores, and there is a clip on YouTube which features some of the score. It basically sounds like “Predator” with some electronics overlaid.

ThePhantasm2018-09-08 21:59:50

I heard the predator will have 16 or 25 tracks in the soundtrack like Logan soundtrack, but that's how Lakeshore Records did like right now. In my opinion, I think the predator 2018 is better fit for La-La Land Records & Var&#232;se Sarabande for limited edition like last time with original predator, predator 2 and predators too.

Interesting description of the score:

"A playful score by Henry Jackman (X-Men: First Class) maintains a playful tone while making a few nods to the original."

-Hollywood Reporter

So maybe Silvestri's theme will appear in some capacity. But playful is not how I imagined the score to be. This might be a good thing.

Haven't you found out about the predator final trailer online on YouTube today? It's really good & brutal trailer and did you hear background music by Henry Jackson or different music.

He's a fan of Silvestris score for Predator 2 I'm sure he'll use it. this and MI Fallout are my most anticipated scores this year

actually i dont like Jackman music, i am played Uncharted 4 his music is not good. He compose legendary game but he doesnt not hard working. I guess he accept the job '' okey lets do something'' and he crap music.. This is my perspective of Henry.
