i love this movie and soundtracks !I hope LLL didn't microedit this as much as the first one.So, there's music in the Road to 2049 site, and it's pretty cool, but no idea if it's actual score. The lenght seems more like promo track for trailers.

Would be great to know where it's from, score or otherwise, because it's a great track and hope the score sounds like this!

Here's the site
roadto2049. bladerunnermovie. comI thoroughly enjoyed King Arthur. Good acting, Good Story, Incredible Score, perhaps underrated.iTunes SriLanka is the first itunes store to get the new releases online on friday. But by now you can also go to iTunes New Zeland or something and checkout the album and itís samples.
@Armageddon

1. i love the movie. 2. rockhound is the most annoying character in the whole movie, but at least he has a cool name. ;) 3. bruce willis is smiling in almost all his emotional scenes and not just in this movie. but you know, in germany the movies are dubbed, so his "german" voice and the music helped alot to make these scenes nontheless convincing. to be honest, the goodbye scene was even more sad than the dying scene of leonardo dicaprio in Titanic. so you see, what impact the music had.

@Edmund

i didnt say the movie is bad, just bruce willis in a couple of scenes. so....the music had alot more to do than in Pirates III. the impact of the music in Armageddon must be way stronger to make these scenes work than in Pirates III. in Pirates III these scenes would have been also convincing without the music, because the acting was strong enough. but nontheless the music in Pirates III adds alot to the scenes and makes them stronger. just my opinion.Where did you get this information and samples?Where can I listen to those samples? I would love to hear some bits of the score before watching the movie.The score has 25 tracks and is about 1 hour and 16 minutes long. Samples sound awesome. Great action score with new theme's and variations of the old ones. Looking forward to hearing it in full.Total video game score, circa 98. This is one of those scores -
my first - that you just didn't get enough of no matter HOW many cds they released of it. Hell, it wasn't until 2000 when I finally got the complete score on 2 cds. Sadly, by that time I burned out on it...
So rockhound...your argument is that the score is better because the movie is worse? That's a new one, gotta admit... :D

to Armageddon, do it! The complete score, if you can. It's incredible!To Edmund Meinerts,

I admit I never really got the chance to listen to the entire At World's End score. But now you sir got me interested and I will check it out.

Cheers.To rockhound,

With all due respect, sir, that's a stupid statement. Very stupid. Guess you're mad that Rockhound wasn't the main character. How is Willis acting in those scenes bad? He's not overacting, he's not crying-screaming like a little girl. His character is actually very grounded. In the scene with Liv Tyler at the end, he is actually watching a picture of his real daughter. It makes it all the more real. He's very quiet and the performance is realistic. Nothing over-the-top. And people absolutely love that scene. Go to YouTube and read all the comments under the video. So, having said all of that, what exactly is your problem with it? You want him to go all crazy emotional like Nic Cage in Face/Off? Is that it?King Arthur is the perfect example. A terrible script but a great scoreAfter I saw the movie....very great movie & very great scores, better than the first scores!! And the theme for Poppy is also very good!!
Well there's also the track where Izzy's transformers dies, a few action tracks not included that I'd be interested to hear, but you're right, the track I'm most interested in is We Have To Go's film version. The extra strings in the small excerpt where Megatron's arm gets cut off, and the ones added to the main theme really give the song a more heroic and intense tone.Yep. These tracks are amazingOnly tracks that come to mind that aren't in the OST are a variation of Seglass when introducing Edmund, and the film version of We Have To Go.

Hell, the OST has more music than the movie.Daniel Pemberton seems like a twat.I own the CD and I agree there are times in the score where it's so bombastic it distorts your speakers.

Still, I felt this was a great score from Zimmer. It was peak Russian sounding chorus time for Hans and the action cues were better than other scores of this time like The Rock.

Would be great to know where it's from, score or otherwise, because it's a great track and hope the score sounds like this!

Apparently Hans should be stopped from scoring too many movies and he should let others have it. Let us unite and say #StopHansZimmer

"Let us unite"

lol

Good luck fighting Hollywood ! You'll tell me about it ! lol

Frank2017-09-19 08:30:50
I'll quote Daniel Pemberton's Tweet here "It's like some one has taken the Film Score Monthly message board and printed it in a national newspaper.."

Waymann2017-09-19 08:35:25
StopHansZimmer ?? That does also mean stop Lorne Balfe, Benjamin Wallfisch, Steve Jablonksy, Geoff Zanelli, Henry Jackman, Dominic Lewis, etc... They are Hans Zimmer now.

Waymann2017-09-19 10:02:00
Also, even before the score is released for Blade Runner 2049 they all say it's going to be bad because Zimmer is scoring it instead of a composer who, let's be honest never proved he could do a movie with this kind of scale. Let's wait for the score the released maybe it's going to be great.

Edmund Meinerts2017-09-19 13:03:01
This is a pretty dumb article. Zimmer isn't who needs to be stopped, it's the Hollywood execs who ask composers to copy him rather than develop their own original voices. We've heard from Steamboy what someone like Jablonsky can do, but 90% of the time when he gets hired it's to be a cheaper version of Zimmer. That's what needs to be stopped, not Zimmer himself.

Peter2017-09-19 14:04:02
Hans delivers, and often goes beyond the directors imagination.
however, a bad movie can't have a very good score.
Give Hans something new, and he will deliver something new.
Successful people are often being ask to repeat their previous succes, limiting their creativity. #stopthestophanszimmerpeople

His music is considered cost-effective and popular for the times...Honestly for Zimmer to go away the times would have to go away. Also factor in progress in technology which is slowly making regular instruments obsolete...

Edmund Meinerts2017-09-19 14:12:05
"a bad movie can't have a very good score."

Bullshit!

Max Potcats2017-09-19 18:59:16
Tron 2.

Macejko2017-09-19 21:08:53
TRON 2 isn't a bad movie by any means, but I digress. I whole-heartedly agree with Edmund here; I could name dozens of bad movies with wonderful scores, and I'd say that the vast majority of them comes related to RCP.

Max Potcats2017-09-19 22:12:29
oh yes! my bad... I understood the opposite of what Edmund was saying...
And, yes, Tron 2 is not such a bad movie (partially thanks to the score :P )

Hans2017-09-20 19:52:29
Daniel Pemberton seems like a twat.

Please make this a melodic memorable score. I understand due the context of the film their will most likely be sound design. All I want is one or two beautiful melodical electronic themes like the original Vangelis theme for BR. Hope to hear an epic emotional action sound similar to CHAPPiEs action themes. Please don't make another Dunkirk type score.

The release isn't confirmed yet, but I take my chance !

Mephariel2017-09-14 05:15:33
Hybrid, is Zimmer/Wallfisch actually done with the score or are they still working on it?

Saurabh2017-09-14 05:56:16
Hopefully we'll get some details by next week or so. I'm more curious to see what Wallfisch has done here coz I haven't heard his purely electronic sensibilities (if any).

Hybrid Soldier2017-09-14 18:49:24
I can't say much because I don't know much... I think everyone involved has some crazy NDA so they can't talk about it.

But about what I know, the score has definitely been completed a while back. Hans & Ben started working on somewhere between april & june. Hans was on tour, but he spent his 15 days break in July 100% on it, and probably continued at the end of the tour in august. For the second LA HZ show, Denis Villeneuve was actually there.

So rescore ? Yes definitely... Last min rush job ? Nope.

David2017-09-15 01:44:34
Oh, sh!t! Well that's great to hear! I'm now even more excited for the score! I absolutely cannot wait!

Do you know if JJ is still in there at all??

Ian reply Replies: 3 || 2017-09-14 07:50:41
I *really* hope the inclusion of Wallfisch on this means it doesn't just go in the direction of BvS/Inferno/Dunkirk sound design.

Edmund Meinerts2017-09-14 13:13:08
I doubt it. Wallfisch is not a sound design guy, he's more classically inclined. In Dunkirk he was mostly in charge of the Elgar stuff, right?

James2017-09-14 13:53:29
Yes.

JBSO992017-09-14 14:19:49
But the thing that Wallfisch is in this it does not mean that it is goin to be different because he was also in Dunkirk and BvS. Okay, he was more in charge of more melodic parts but that does not mean that there won't be any sound design.

Anyway, I also prefer synths with amore emotional and melodical feel than the sound design, and in this movie fits better the mlodic parts, I think.

Mephariel reply Replies: 2 || 2017-09-14 05:03:19
There has to be release. Hans Zimmer and epic sci-fi but no release? I can't believe that.

The only thing I can think of is if there are some legal issues with Johannson.

KurosawaFan2017-09-14 05:41:42
so, is Johannson completely out of the picture?! I was SO looking forward to hearing what he'd come-up with...

JBSO992017-09-14 07:07:58
KurosawaFan Johannsson is definitely out of the project, but I'm not sure if Zimmer and Wallfisch will keep some of his score or his themes or if they are restoring completely.
I was also looking forward what he could bring to this movie, but Zimmer and Wallfisch are surely creating an amazing score.
