Yeah... I'm not sure about Elfman's wave. The guy decided to bring back his old Batman theme instead of actually writing a new one. He has to re-invent himself. <br>Seven with ZimmerYeah, Silvestri, Newman, Goldenthal and JNH too. The six most popular "new" composers, along with Horner, of the 80's and 90's.I saw a few clips from the movie on youtube. The score sounded really good. Very unlike Djawadi and very beautiful fantasy music! Can't waitI saw a few clips from the movie on youtube. The score sounded really good. Very unlike Djawadi and very beautiful fantasy music! Honestly, I do feel bad for Elfman, because for Chrissakes hes been doing 50 Shades of Grey these days, and the last memorable scores I have of him are from 2012. But I don't think Zimmer or even Elfman for that matter are done as yet. I predict by the end of this decade Zimmer will have a new wave in popularity wash in. I'm just waiting for Elfman's wave right now...not quite seeing it yet.Glad you caught it Rockhound. Think the others were too wound up to notice !!i was trying to be funny.Pete you are funny, although u demand from others to talk about the actual soundtrack from this page, you start to talk also about another soundtrack. but ok.... i think Forgotten is a very boring track and adds nothing to the actual scene. a variation of his theme from the track Hero would have been much more intense for the ending. sadly we got 9 boring minutes of thematic development and instrumentation. Lorne can do much better as the track Hero from the same soundtrack shows.Zimmer got X-Men: Dark Phoenix this year. And I have a hard time believing he is only scoring that film this year. Zimmer always does more than 1 film a year.No need for petty cursing .<br><br>We can discuss the soundtrack instead ! <br><br>Forgotten is cool track.Itís definitely one of Bayís best movies. Wish he would make more drama based film obvious with some action. Canít cope with more robots ! The ending of the film is so emotional and this track gave goosebumps at the end. Did sound very similar to the end of The Last Knight
"Boring . Talk about the actual soundtrack or change the subject."<br><br>Ok, so someone else gets us on this topic, an arguement occurs, and NOW, only when you've realized you're losing the arguement, do you decide that this page is only for 12 strong. Which it's not. This is a forum we talk about whatever we want here.<br><br>But what a childish and pathetic attempt at avoiding our points. Just dismissively saying "Boring! Change the subject! My ears can't handle this criticism!!! Wah, wah, wah!" I guarantee you the next step after this is going to be petty cursing.Boring . Talk about the actual soundtrack or change the subjectUpset about success? Sounds like someone doesn't know a thing about reasonable criticism. :p<br><br>If anyone likes Balfe, then good on them. I only get annoyed when people decide he's suddenly the most amazing thing ever, which he really isn't. Even on his most competent scores, it's unlikely many would recognize him as one of the greats. Respect him, sure, but not think he's out of this world. Especially if people are still gonna be excited about hearing the work of someone else when a different person is hired (i.e. what JL might've been). Can we please change the subject !!!!!!!!it is so boring now. This page is ment to be about the sound track to 12 StrongThere you go again, accusing me of being upset about Balfe's success when I never said anything like that. Stop putting words in my mouth.
AgreedThe point is Edmund and others donít need to keep getting upset about Balfes success.Dont reply and just focus on other conversations. No one here is interested in hearing anyone bashing any of the great composers on this site from Remote. Grow up or move on.Appreciate the voice of support. :)Good god, this Balfe/Anonymous guys is wreaking havoc! Good thing Djawadi's fans are calmer than Balfe's.Jesus Christ, what a mess! What is wrong with you Balfe fanboys? Edmund comes in trying to settle down the situation and add some nuance and you just curse him out? He even admits to liking Lorne, basically states how the top comment is far too harsh, defends Balfe, and all he does against him is call out Michael for borderline bullying someone else into worshiping Balfe.<br><br>After all of that, all you can possibly say in response to him is "go away you John Powell fanboy"? For saying one thing against a guy basically being a mindless fanboy. Which by the way is an unbelievably poor argument because I've seen Edmund criticize Powell scores before. Is Edmund not aloud to prefer Powell? He didn't even bring his music up once in this discussion! Oh no I can see the responses now...<br><br>"superultramegoo go listen to Transformers 5 for the 50th time.we dont need youre stupidumb comments here !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Assembling my own edit for IT, I've found at least seven cues that are different in the film:

-Georgie, Meet Pennywise (the children's choir sings "Oranges and Lemons" instead of whispering it)
-Egg Boy (Different choir performance when Ben is rifling through the book, there's less strings when Ben is chased by the headless boy)
-Mike's Fear (Seems to drop some of the orchestra and synths at the end)
-"Judith" (or "Painting Lady" if you prefer) (When Judith appears before Stan, the children's choir sings "Oranges and Lemons", before the shouting girl comes in like on the OST version. The end of the cue is choir-free)
-Slideshow (Cuts out some of the synth just before Pennywise actually comes out of the projector)
-Time To Float (Stronger percussion as Pennywise emerges from the freezer)
-Return to Niebolt (Adds in a synthetic timpani drum)
-The end credits includes another version of "Georgie, Meet Pennywise" that ends at the point where Georgie reaches into the grate.

JBSO992018-02-03 13:29:13
And in the movie, in the opening titles, after the singing kid, plays "Every 27 Years (Reprise)" and in the end credits is when "Every 27 Years" plays, but without the "Oranges and Lemons" bit.

Also, I'm interest in what your edit is? I mean, are you creating film version of some tracks, or are you mixing them together or something like that?

DT-2017 reply Replies: 2 || 2018-01-12 00:26:58
Interestingly, though this score is being submitted for consideration in Awards Season, I haven't seen an FYC floating about for this one. Anybody in the know and is able to say whether the FYC is just this OST, or whether it's different in any way?

Anonymous2018-01-12 02:22:53
For years now WB has been jewing out and using the soundtrack as the FYC. Go figure that the same studio who re-releases and re-releases a harry potter collection year after year pulls this

DT-20172018-01-12 15:57:33
I guess it would depend entirely on what sort of award WB is going after. I'm told if they submit it for an Oscar, they have to present it as is heard in the film, and the OST presentation would definitely disqualify it if that's the case. (The point came up when I asked why The Last Jedi was cues taken from the film stems when somebody else suggested it wasn't because of the ease given how the film was scored)

Time To Float is sooo strong :-) And a nice Scene btw :-)

CT-11382017-10-23 09:37:10
Skarsgard really nailed that scene, it was the scene which made it clear how different his Pennywise is from Tim Curry's.

badbu2017-10-23 11:06:00
yeah!!! He was amazing!!! After Dunkrik the best movie in 2017 (for me)

Finished with my first listen and I'm loving what I heard. Normally 80+ minutes tend to drag for me... not here. The music is consistently strong and Wallfisch is able to do something most horror composers fail at; keep the horror underscore interesting. I tend to normally get bored with horror scores when they pull the same tricks, but I found myself genuinely unnerved with the vocal effects he throws in.

As for the themes, while there are definitely no competitors for ACFW they all work extremely well. Especially when they allow for big moments of wonder or softer emotion. I'm really loving this one, not quite as much as Wellness but definitely in the same ballpark.

And am I crazy or is that Richard Bellis' theme from the miniseries in "Its What It Wants"?

Medigo2017-09-09 13:46:06
I like it'
but sweet god
dont listen to this with headphones

CT-11382017-10-22 23:34:29
mpolonest123 - definitely sounds like it might be inspired by it. I heard the "glockenspiel roll" employed by Bellis used in the track "Deadlights" as well. If these things are intentional nods, then it's pretty cool that the score at least acknowledges the past.

Does anyone know what tracks appear in the end credits of the movie (in case there is music, that I think it is). I think the credits open with Every 27 Years (Reprise), but I don't know what's next.
Thanks in advance for the help!

CT-11382017-10-22 23:32:47
I don't know if anybody stayed behind long enough to find out given that the only thing waiting at the end of the credits is one last Pennywise laugh and "IT: Chapter 1". I'd assume "Georgie's Theme" played next.

CT-1138 reply Replies: 5 || 2017-09-28 00:04:58
Pretty good score that fits the film very well (which, by the way, is a great film). I don't think the OST misses anything off of any significance... but it doesn't seem to be in chronological order either.

Hybrid Soldier2017-09-28 00:23:45
Well Ben wrote more than a hundred cues for it ! Lots of very very short pieces... The OST has got everything needed indeed. As for chronlogical order, the second half is, but the first is kinda all over the place with lots of combined cues so hard to really place them, but here's what I came up with (if you don't want to start butchering every track lol) :

Every 27 Years (2:36)
Paper Boat (1:55)
Georgie, Meet Pennywise (3:38)
Derry (2:24)
Shape Shifter (1:42)
Egg Boy (2:44)
River Chase (2:09)
Hockstetter Attack (2:15)
Beverly (1:20)
Derry History (2:48)
Come Join The Clown, Eds (1:20)
Haircut (4:14)
You'll Float Too (3:20)
January Embers (1:05)
Saving Mike (1:15)
This Is Not A Dream (2:08)
Slideshow (2:01)
He Didn't Stutter Once (1:33)
Neibolt Street (4:17)
Time To Float (3:04)
It's What It Wants (1:19)
You'll Die If You Try (4:38)
Return To Neibolt (2:31)
Into The Well (2:05)
Pennywise's Tower (1:48)
The Pennywise Dance (0:36)
Deadlights (2:04)
Searching For Stanley (2:28)
Saving Beverly (3:36)
Georgie Found (1:53)
Transformation (0:58)
Feed On Your Fear (2:34)
Welcome To The Losers Club (3:05)
Yellow Raincoat (1:43)
Blood Oath (3:11)
Kiss (0:54)
Every 27 Years (Reprise) (2:07)
Georgie's Theme (1:42)

Aaaaand if you STILL want a super detailed breakdown of the beginning :

Every 27 Years
Paper Boat
Georgie, Meet Pennywise
Derry (0:20 to 1:02)
Derry (1:41 to end)
Derry (1:02 to 1:41)
Shape Shifter
Derry (0:00 to 0:21)
Egg Boy
River Chase
Hockstetter Attack
January Embers (0:00 to 0:25)
Haircut (0:00 to 0:51)
Beverly
Derry History
Come Join The Clown, Eds
Haircut (0:51 to end)
You'll Float Too
January Embers (0:25 to end)
Saving Mike
This Is Not A Dream
Slideshow
He Didn't Stutter Once (0:31 to end)
He Didn't Stutter Once (0:00 to 0:31)
21 Neibolt Street
Time To Float
It's What It Wants
You'll Die If You Try (0:51 to end)
You'll Die If You Try (0:00 to 0:51)
Return To Neibolt
Etc.

JBSO992017-09-28 09:21:45
Hundred cues! Wow! That's s lot of work on his part. I kind of like the horror pays but I would have love if he had created more tracks like Paper Boat, Beverly or Blood Oath, but I guess the movie didn't needed more. Also I hope will be brought back to score the second chapter so he can use some of his themes and develop them.

PS: Hybrid, thanks for the chrono tracklist!

CT-11382017-09-28 11:24:26
Thanks for the breakdown :)

It's nice to know the second half is in order, though I think "The Pennywise Dance" should go before "Deadlights" since it plays as Pennywise does the 'old man jig'.

Hybrid Soldier2017-09-28 11:58:54
That... is what I wrote ! lol

CT-11382017-09-28 12:02:54
Oops, you already chronologically placed "The Pennywise Dance"! My bad!
