Honestly one of the better villain themes i've heard in a whileFlight has a new Andrew Kawczynski credit...We're getting there!Yeah, you're probably right. <br><br>I guess I thought of it as a Powell cue mostly because between the two main composers, it matched more with his style than Hans', but yeah it's probably Jackman's stuff. <br><br>Either way, I love that track.

I don't get much of a Powell vibe off that particular cue at all.This film and score are ten years old! The first seven minutes of Hansí New Batman Theme (A Dark Knight) are still one of my favorite individual Zimmer themes. <br><br>And the movie itself is still one of my favorites, comic book or not.I'm curious, who do you think mostly wrote 'Tai Lung Escapes'? <br><br>I've always loved that track, and always felt that it was mostly a John Powell cue, although that very dark first part could easily be Hans' work. I could also see it being a Henry Jackman cue though... I don't know. :pStairs and Rooftops....WOOOW Easily one of the best film tracks of 2018. Simply Amazing!!!

The Children's Leaguemvictor: it's funny, 3:10 To Yuma is perhaps the only Beltrami score I really like :-p<br><br>In my opinion, what made Dunkirk special is that it's a Zimmer score, so it sounds better, massive, impressive, while most horror scores stay in the background except for a few jump scares that are not pleasing at all when you listen to the album. Dunkirk is a tension-builder, but it's more than that.<br><br>You should definitely listen to Gravity a couple more times, it's an absolutely amazing score, in my opinion better than Dunkirk, as it's equally tense and massive, but has more refined electronic manipulation, it's more colorful and it's simply more musical. Go straight to the track 'Shenzou', play it very loud, and you'll see what I mean :-pHats off to Hybrid Soldier dealing with all you ungrateful cancerous rude spammers. This was a good score IMHO, but if you didn't like it then try to give constructive criticism. But I guess acting like an inebriated ape with a laptop is easier

Jon Brion is doing to the music, right?<br><br>I know Zanelli worked on it, but anyone got an explanation for the 'composer' credit?I just wish they had included the finale in both the SW story scores all the music complied together would have been greatfinally got to listen to a quiet place. it has indeed the atmospheric vibe i got from dunkirk. although i will give it another listen before deciding. anyways, you have great ears Ds. and you said you listened to the background music during the movie even, wow!<br><br>after that i got to listen to 3:10 to yuma, which went straight onto my wishlist. and made me research Marco Beltrami. no idea how i never heard from his scores till now! he is very amazing on those two scores i have listened to so far.<br><br>now, i realized that (most) horror movies might have that atmospheric/ambient sound. so i wondered what makes dunkirk special? pretty sure it is that tension that never seems to fade (not the nimrod theme though). most horror movies are to scare you at particular moments. dunkirk keeps the tension constant. so much that you get comfortable with it. that's what makes it so special for me.<br><br>will keep looking. oh i tried captain philips and gravity too. will give those another listen.

I am enjoying this soundtrack a lot. Lots of very nice Middle-Eastern instruments and tone colours throughout. Only things that are holding it back from being as good as Uncharted 4 are memorable themes and no real orchestra (just orchestral samples). I understand that not being able to have the score recorded by a real orchestra is not Henry's fault, but it does detract from the overall sound and impact of the music (in a few areas). However, Henry does do a good job using other ambient sounds and pulses to cover up noticeably synthetic parts, which I think works well and is not too much of a distraction. A solid 3.5 / 5 from me.

Haven't had a chance to listen to this one. Are you saying the tunes presented on album are not recorded with live musicians? If true then that would come as a surprise as I see some names in the full credits above that are associated with orchestra recordings, including Gavin Greenaway as the conductor.

Yeah, I'm not sure why Gavin Greenaway is listed as conductor and there are a lot of credits associated with orchestra recordings, because I am almost 100% sure that the entire score is made from samples. If you aren't sure, have a listen to Track 8: Ambushed and at 0:48, tell me if those strings playing the melody line aren't samples! I would also suggest listening to Track 7: Gatekeeper (keep an ear out for the string resonance of the cello) and Track 9: The Tusk of Ganesh (listen for the high sustained strings on E above the piano theme). Those examples are the most obvious to me (in my own opinion). Overall, the score just has such a clean and precise sound (especially the percussion) that I am convinced no (or very few) live musicians were recorded.
