Damn Powell is doing a lot of music on his own now a days with not many additional writers. I hope he takes on more project that aren’t just animated. I really miss his music, he’s so ridiculously talented. And even then, people rate before listening to it...The version on this page is actually sound effects-free!Sehr Geehrter Herr Zimmer, du hast viele Fans in Polen. All sounds really good!
Tracks 1, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 16, 19 are wonderful.Macejko: i do tooI for one believe they should not allow user ratings until the album has been released.I really like it! It's like a HTTYD with a twang to it.I do. And other collectors too. LOL.
Felix: some people buy CD-s yet nowadays, some people thinks, if a music is a masterpiece in it's own, then they can appreciate the composer's work with some money, even that money going to the publisherWho needs CDs?? LoLAs far as I know, no.

Sadly.

I would love to get my hands on a "clean" version. Love the score!Well ok, but how to get the song itself on physical cd, if its not on this soundtrack. There is now official Single CD yet for the Song ... :/Are there any versions that movie sound effects, such as car noise, have disappeared?
I really hope that for the inevitable sequel they dump the songs and focus a bit more on the actual score. I listened to the album again and there's definitely a lot that they can expand upon.

Mike Bay (through his movies) is one of the "founders" of the MV/RC sound so it sucks to see him relying on so much freakin' songs nowadays. And it's not only him.....

That's why themes have disappeared. Composers just don't have the chance to create more. And I'm sure it's frustrating for them to deal with all of this. So don't blame ONLY the composer when a score doesn't feel satisfying enough. God knows how many other people have a say in all of this...Bay should work with Jerry Bruckheimer again.
================

That is something a lot of people are hoping for :)

The days of The Rock, Armageddon, Pearl Harbor and Bad Boys 2 were awesome. You saw trailers that simply said "From Michael Bay and Jerry Bruckheimer" and audiences knew exactly what they gonna get. Those were some very exciting days.

I don't think we will see another Armageddon-sized reunion of Michael and Jerry but hey......at least we have their previous movies to enjoy. I'm grateful for that :)

P.S. Armageddon NEEDS to be re-released in IMAX 3D. It's the perfect movie for this format.doesn't look like it but per the announcement on 007.com an 'epic sweeping instrumental orchestral version' of it will beWill the Song "No Time to Die" from Billie Eilish on the CD release of this Album? If you care about Ben's work in horror, you gonna like this (the strings and themes sounds mostly like A Cure for Wellness), and lots of abrasive electronics.

If you don't care, that's other story.

Seriously, are these comments randomly generated? What's the point of this?

Also, this score was pretty dreadful.

Macejko2016-07-22 11:39:10
Agreed. Probably the worst Jackman yet.

Little "who did what"...

Edmund Meinerts2016-05-01 12:42:33
Well, none of them did anything particularly worthwhile... :p

But thanks. :)

Just got back from a press screening of this film. Score is very bland, sadly - no themes to speak of, a lot of generic string ostinato + synth percussion action stuff that sounds like leftovers from every Jackman action score from X-Men: First Class onwards. The "Tsunami" cue had an appropriately swirling, chaotic energy to it though, that one should be not bad.

I suppose nothing else was expected for this concept. But his recent project choices seem somewhat strange. I expected to see him for Goosebumps and Zootopia but instead he took this one here and some video game project which will likely call for nothing different than what he did here. Are these easy pays, fun, or the man simply doesn't like flicks that call for thematic orchestral scores?

Was the movie boring? Did it have good pacing to it? Did it feel long? Was there an open end to it, or did it feel like a standalone movie?

Edmund Meinerts2016-01-13 11:25:24
The movie is OK. It's well under two hours so it's never boring and paced fairly well. But it definitely doesn't feel like a complete story. Even though it's based on the one book, it has the feeling of one of those "part 1" movies (or a Hobbit movie) where there's absolutely no effort to make the individual films feel like they can stand on their own. That's what I always appreciated about the Harry Potter books and films (except the last two) - they felt like individual stories that still added up to a greater whole. That's become a lost art in franchises (just look at the Marvel movies where each one feels like a full length trailer for the next one).

Other than that it's entertaining enough if you like that sort of thing. To put it next to the other YA apocalyptic stuff, I liked it a bit more than Divergent and Maze Runner, a bit less than Hunger Games.

Yeah, kind of reminds me of how boring and monotonous Interstellar sounded.
