Hybrid, do you think that the Snyder´s Cut could really exist somewhere? Let alone with Tom´s score, do you think that he even began scoring the film? I would love to see that version. Thank you for your answerBalfe is one of the few that hasn’t got additional writers<br>=================================<br><br><br>Even composers who do one or two movies a year receive help. So it's very, very hard for me to believe that Balfe - with the amount of movies he works on now - is out there by himself, scoring it all by himself. It's simply not possible. And this is the MV/RC world after all. Composers help each other all the time. And many of these collaborations don't even make it to this site. It's very hard to keep track of everything.imo whedon and elfman screwed up the movie, i'd say Zacks original cut would be better, then again thats just me thoPerhaps. But it would be a disrespect to Whedon and Elfman. Okay. If that means more money on the table, they will.HOPE NEVER DIES.<br><br>Sources confirm this days on social media that Zack Snyder Original Cut of Justice League not only exists, but have VFX's work and Junkie XL's score on it.<br><br>That could be really EPIC.<br><br>The Fight for this can happens is bigger every minute passes, dont lose the faith, not now.
Cannot freaking wait!"Balfe is one of the few that hasn’t got additional writers"<br><br>As if. Just look through this site and you'll see additional guys credited for lots of his scores. Max Aruj, Steffen Thum, Thomas Farnon, Andrew Kawczynski on some projects...he's a very busy guy but I promise you he doesn't do every single second of his 15 scores a year on his own.Bayhem - Balfe is one of the few that hasn’t got additional writers though.which films has this small army of ghostwriters ???!!!!!!You say Balfe worked on the last Transformers(2017). Okay. He may have been called by the Paramount. However, his involvement with the franchise in 2005 and in the following years happened because of the RCP and Zimmer's direct involvement in the project. There in 2005, 2007, 2011, 2014 he was a guest of RCP/MV and no received no call for help of the Paramount. There is no other way.he worked on the first transformers . And did a lot. Why not ask him on twitter .<br>.....................................<br><br><br>I've asked him a lot of stuff. We're Facebook friends. And yes, I know he worked on the first one. I clearly said it a couple of times in my replies here. He worked on the first one and the second one as well. But if you try to imply that Balfe deserves the credit for these scores, you are way, way off the mark. And it's very disrespectful to Jablonsky. Very.<br><br>Now, clearly you like Balfe a lot. Fine. But please don't undermine a far more experienced and successful composer like Jablonsky, just because Balfe is the "hot MV/RC composer" at the moment. We, the Jablonsky fans, certainly didn't act that way in 2007 when Jablonsky's name was everywhere and people were going crazy for the Transformers score. No one denies that Balfe worked hard on the Transformers films. But he's not the "main guy". Just like a lot of MV/RC composers have worked on HIS scores and they're not the main composers. You think Balfe scores all of his movies alone? Nope. Like any other successful and busy composer out there, he's supported by a small army of ghostwriters.
Studio = Paramount and he worked on the first transformers . And did a lot. Why not ask him on twitter . I did !!!!!!Balfe never worked for Jablonsky =========================================<br><br>By "worked for Jablonsky" I meant he worked ON Jablonsky scores. And as James said, it's all MV/RC anyway. They all know each other and help each other. The first Transformers movie started post-production at the end of 2006. Back then no one knew who Balfe was (aside from the biggest MV/RC fans). His big break arguably came in 2009-2010. Years after the first Transformers movie. So no matter how we spin it, he still came after Jablonsky. Jablonsky is his senior and obviously has much more experience. And we have to respect that. <br><br>That was my point.Should have gotten one for Interstellar, not this."Strength And Honor" is a forerunner to the main theme of King Arthur and also the theme for Transformers!<br><br>I was listening to the soundtrack and unwittingly the music sent me to these two other movies. :Dhe says he was brought in by the studio.<br><br>-----------------------------------------------<br><br>Studio = RCP = Hans Zimmer credit as producer of the score.<br>In end of day is the same thing.
Maybe a honorary in the future.Bayhem - your wrong on a couple of points . Balfe never worked for Jablonsky .In a recent podcast he was asked about Transformers and he says he was brought in by the studio.seems the same with the lastest Film also.its pretty obvious the temp for the end is 13 Hours also.A "spanish" score. This is great! An Oscar (or at lease a nomination) for Dunkirk or Blade Runner ; it would be great from the academy to reward this kind of score. In the last decade, only Gravity had also this kind of """""sound desing""""""" score.I think you're forgetting that Balfe also ghostwrote The Lord of the Rings<br>==================================<br><br>Hahaha, but of course! Howard Shore and John Williams are actually Balfe alter-egos. He's actually 155 years old and he's solely responsible for all of these iconic scores. Hell, I heard he did some additional work on Psycho as well. And Gone with the Wind. lol!<br><br><br>Now, let me say something else in regards to the claim that Balfe did this score. All kidding aside, it would've (I guess...) made sense to make such a claim if this score was done by someone UNtested. But this is Jablonsky we're talking! He's one of Balfe's mentors. Look back and you'll see that Balfe started working not only on Zimmer scores, but on Jablonsky scores as well.<br><br>So yes, Balfe is good and all, but let's not act as if he's "the greatest in the world". And let's respect and NOT undermine the more senior MV/RC composers who gave the guy a shot. Thank you.

Congratulation to Hans Zimmer and Richard Harvey for winning the Annie Award for this score!

Okay, so forgive me if this has been discussed already, but what exactly was the extent of Zimmer's contribution here? I've read that Zimmer basically only worked on the Camille songs and the score was entirely Richard Harvey (plus the other guys, I guess - Hybrid mentioned that Dom Lewis helped on "Escape"). Is that true, or an exaggeration?

A while ago I read a review that was saying this. It spoke explicitly about "Zimmer's songs and Harvey's score". Maybe you read the same review :-p

I don't think it's really accurate, even if most of the music is indeed quite different from HZ's usual output. I must admit I have no idea what Harvey usually sound like.

soi2016-05-10 07:44:33
The escape cue is the best one in the score. Really touching and beautifully orchestrated.

Quick question to anyone who's seen the movie: there's a beautiful piece of music playing in the scene where the girl is running/biking to the hospital. This track is not on the release, but I suspect it to be the instrumental version of the track "Equation". Can someone confirm it?

Hybrid Soldier2015-08-22 15:06:14
Yes it is... :)

Escape. Best appearance

What a lovely movie! The score makes it shine bright, a really nice output from team HZ. For those interested, the soundtrack is totally out of order, and I think it's impossible to order it because some tracks contain various cues from different places in the movie.

rockhound2015-07-30 09:46:55
yep...a very lovely score with wonderful themes and a very nice orchestration, especially in the action parts. The score has a french feeling all over the place without sounding to much hollywood cliche. good work by team rcp.

Any Richard Harvey sample for this score?

Frank reply Replies: 1 || 2015-07-26 05:09:22
Besides Celebrate the Oscar, the last few tracks are very similar with Thin Red Line too (not the notorious Journey to the Line though)

Frenchans2015-07-26 18:36:23
I agree with you, "finding the rose" reminds me The Thin Red Line and I love that ! A return to his roots ?

Hybrid, is it true that hans only worked on Suis-moi, Le Tour de France en Diligence and Suis-moi reprise? Or was this more of a collaborative effort?

mdsmith reply Replies: 14 || 2015-07-22 22:22:10
Another zimmer score. another 48 additional composers to arrange the challenging material for him.

quick someone find the 5 minute suite of basic chord progressions and ostinatos that proves its 'all him' LOL

Edmund Meinerts2015-07-22 23:52:34
Between the relative obscurity of the film, Harvey's co-composing credit and the presence of six (!) other composers (including a couple eyebrow-raisers...Benjamin Wallfisch, Nick Glennie-Smith!)...yeah, the OP may be a bit of a troll, but this doesn't seem like one of Zimmer's more hands-on projects, does it?

Hybrid Soldier2015-07-22 23:56:15
They really didn't have much time to do this... It's just one of those... lol

Zimson2015-07-23 13:21:57
This seems to be KFP 2 all over the place again. Gotta say, not Hans' best year. However I expect great stuff for Batfleck vs. Steelman next year.

Lambegue2015-07-23 14:29:17
I like the "Escape" track. I wasn't impressed by the samples, but now I hope it will be at least a nice score.

Edmund Meinerts2015-07-23 16:12:52
Yeah, it feels like a lot of Hans' minor/really-someone-else's projects all piled up in 2015. There's not one score that feels like he did the heavy lifting.

Next year, though, we get Broodman vs. Superjoyless and Inferno, two pretty huge projects (the latter of which I'm looking forward to much, MUCH more). And the enigma of KFP3, of course - should be a fun one, regardless of who actually writes it.

Mike2015-07-23 16:26:19
"Yeah, it feels like a lot of Hans' minor/really-someone-else's projects all piled up in 2015. There's not one score that feels like he did the heavy lifting."

Maybe doing Interstellar by himself last year was just too much... :P

(Kidding.)

Ds2015-07-23 19:28:50
Have to agree, however Chappie was insanely cool, I'm still listening to it a lot, liking it more and more.

Leo2015-07-23 22:19:24
I like the Escape cue a lot, hopefully the rest of the score reaches the level of it.

NM2015-07-24 01:32:46
"This seems to be KFP 2 all over the place again."

Think Hans did more of that one than a lot of people think.

Zimson2015-07-24 23:17:47
@NM I'm sure he did as much as Powell on that. Still, his part wasn't the "heavy lifting" like Edmund said. Though, I will like this score a lot.
Btw, is Escape confirmed to be mostly Hans? It's really great.

Hybrid Soldier2015-07-24 23:47:57
It's not HZ who didn't do KFP 2, it's Powell who jumped ship !

RealFfingMusic2015-07-25 09:25:17
I went to sleep after reading Hybrid's comment. I had a dream of John Powell, dressed like Captain Jack Sparrow, giving a malicious grin, and jumping off the badass Viking ship from Dragon, as the ship got swallowed by a giant Po's head. Then I realised that Captain Powell and the ship are actually tiny, and are in Po's noodles, and saw Captain Powell climb off Po's bowl, and run away.

Mike2015-07-25 15:42:18
Zimson, "Escape" has to be Hans' work... It's like "Celebrate the Oscars - Take 2." lol

Hybrid Soldier2015-07-25 18:10:38
Actually Celebrate the Oscar was indeed temped here... And that cue is a last min Dom Lewis help ! lol
