The official credit is now "Music by Geoff Zanelli & Jon Brion"...

Geoff wrote a good chunk of the score. Why is Zanelli credited as composer. Jon Brion is doing to the music, right?

I know Zanelli worked on it, but anyone got an explanation for the 'composer' credit?I just wish they had included the finale in both the SW story scores all the music complied together would have been greatfinally got to listen to a quiet place. it has indeed the atmospheric vibe i got from dunkirk. although i will give it another listen before deciding. anyways, you have great ears Ds. and you said you listened to the background music during the movie even, wow!

after that i got to listen to 3:10 to yuma, which went straight onto my wishlist. and made me research Marco Beltrami. no idea how i never heard from his scores till now! he is very amazing on those two scores i have listened to so far.

now, i realized that (most) horror movies might have that atmospheric/ambient sound. so i wondered what makes dunkirk special? pretty sure it is that tension that never seems to fade (not the nimrod theme though). most horror movies are to scare you at particular moments. dunkirk keeps the tension constant. so much that you get comfortable with it. that's what makes it so special for me.

will keep looking. oh i tried captain philips and gravity too. will give those another listen.Moggyman, forever friends : )
nvictor, I actually think Dunkirk is better than BR2049 for a couple reasons:

1) Even though BR2049 had some interesting themes, most of the soundtrack was too quiet for me and lost my interest during parts of the album. Dunkirk on the otherhand really maintained by interest almost throughout the entire album due to the intensity of the music.

2) BR2049 soundtrack feels like an attempt to mimic Vangelis' Blade Runner score, whereas Dunkirk is original and unique (except the fact that Zimmer's work isn't completely original, which doesn't bother me at all).It is off topic, but I was really wondering. What do you think about composers doing fan mades on youtube? Do you have a favorite one? After revisiting this one, it's not as bad as I thought. Tessa is a beautiful theme (but is completely fucked over by aesthetics, with the exception of its first appearance).

Decision has an impressive amount of progression throughout the film with the finale Dinobot Charge remaining one of Jablonsky's best. The action in general is pretty fun but, similarly to TF3, it lacks the substance that TF1, TF2, and TF5's action tracks have.

Lockdown and Galvatron's themes were suitably menacing and were used effectively, and I have no idea why Jablonsky didn't carry over the Galvatron theme to TF5 as it suits the Frank Welker Megatron fairly well.

Hunted is a pretty decent action theme when the vocals are absent, and Autobots Reunite was good, but I'm not really sure what it's supposed to represent considering it only plays twice in the film.

The main problem is of course, the complete lack of thematic continuity. I don't care if this was supposed to be a soft reboot of sorts, you have to keep the themes your series is remembered for, especially if you have the same composer. Don't make an array of new ones to just be abandoned in the next film, and give the original themes one reprise each! Because of this score, it makes the Transformers series' music look like an unplanned mess that doesn't know where it's going.

Thankfully Steve attempted to rectify this in TF5 by having reprises from every corner of the series and using the original themes much more frequently, along with the Autobot themes' building progression. That score actually makes this one look better because the Autobots theme being rebuilt makes it feel like it was only absent from this score because TF4 was about them being hunted, and TF5 has them semi-repairing their relationship with humans.

But on its own, this score is definitely the weakest, and reeks of studio interference with the unoriginal sound and Imagine Dragons' involvement.what about dunkirk : ) what do you think of it?Have any cue sheets or slates surfaced for this score?
...that response only made you look more suspicious, as it was so pre-programmed feeling. So if I say I love the score and itís amazing then Iím a bot !!!!!!!!! What a rediculois theoryHi, I'm new to this site and a big fan of Zimmer. Blade Runner is definitely one of his best works (and don't forget Wallfisch). Anyways, I'm definitely anticipating Denis Villeneuve's upcoming Dune film and I wonder if he'll go to Zimmer to do the project. That would be awesome if that happened. This place is not exactly a democracy, if something is not of my liking I get rid of it. Plain & simple.^^

For the sake of fairness, I think the admins should delete both the guys spamming the thread with whining, as well as the Balfe-bots spamming the thread with positivity while simultaneously denouncing "haters." (This does not apply to most people in the thread, but you know who I mean.)
I created a suite of what I believe are the best cues on the album, and attempted to make some interesting variations with the cues themselves in terms of transitions and such. Tracks included are Fallout, The Exchange, Escape Through Paris, Stairs and Rooftops, Free Fall, and Mission: Accomplished. Feel free to check it out, it helps make the whole score feel more melodic in my opinion!

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCioYxbgNsqFhZ15onqcTlFA/vid eosBalfe haters will hate this !!!

But itís amazing .

Itís emotional then EPIC!

It can only be purchased at the Kynren site in Bishop Auckland, UK, during the show season. Google Kynren and hope to see you there soon! :) Hope this helps. Kind RegardsAgree with this 100%People are on here shitting on Giacchino and Powell saying Rouge One has a better score or people saying Solo has a better score and Iím over here like yep still listening to the Star Wars Original Trilogy And Prequel Trilogy scores over here. But I think they both gave Williams Justice and did good.

Hybrid Soldier2015-02-26 12:32:15
I'm trying to investigate this...

theeaglesfan005 2015-02-26 16:15:26
Aren't the majority of soundtracks released the Tuesday before the that Friday the movie comes out?

So wouldn't the soundtrack be 3/3?

This better not be like Interstellar and released 2 weeks after the film comes out lol

cody2015-02-26 18:53:31
hopefully theres news about this soon

Everan2015-02-26 22:09:46
This could be another TF4, with delays and such after the film release, but it didn't take long anyways. And I believe the first Interstellar soundtrack was because Nolan and Hans wanted people to hear the soundtrack in the film first, or something like that.

Hybrid Soldier2015-02-27 08:25:32
Still no "date" but don't worry it's coming. Artwork is ready. Wait & see...

Everan2015-02-27 18:53:53
Nice, love artworks! Means it's coming quite soon.

Also, can't wait for alternate covers, there are great posters, both official and fan-made out there.

sasasa2015-03-02 01:33:20

Zimson2015-03-02 08:58:47
Is March 10th confirmed or is it a Amazon-like release date? Even soundtrack.net doesn't seem to have infos about it by now.

Anonymous2015-03-02 10:11:31
sasasa, the movie opens on 3/0 which is a Friday. Soundtracks release on Tuesdays which is 3/10. Don't act all surprised now....

Everan2015-02-20 02:57:59
Reminds me of Mass Effect's music style.

Loving it, can't wait to hear more.

JamesT2015-02-20 03:44:53
Sounds great - looking forward to this big time!

badbu2015-02-20 18:52:55
don't like it...

theeaglesfan005 2015-02-23 15:45:36
I wonder if Die Antwoord contributed to the score... Both Ninja and Yolandi are in the film

Bioscope2015-02-23 17:28:08
@Eaglesfan, how do you know about DIE ANTWOORD? They come from my homeland and they speak my second language :)

Are you also from RSA?

theeaglesfan005 2015-02-26 16:13:02
@Bioscope, no i am not from RSA

And I looked at the cast from the film and saw they were in it... so I looked them up on Spotify... their music is... different... not bad... but idk.

Just realized Blomkamps next film is an Aliens sequel. What's the odds we gets a Zimmer Alien score I wonder? That would be something.

Everan2015-02-26 05:18:27
Indeed, Hans should make a new horror score.
Unless Marc from Prometheus returns, rumour is this new Alien film is also a Prometheus sequel in some form

yippie!

Anonymous2015-02-05 23:46:38
this is a return to normal for Hans, right? a more collaborative work?

Hybrid Soldier2015-02-05 23:53:03
Yeah, a lot of people involved here, it was quite a complicated case (knowing 3 composers were hired a year before). The usual suspects here with Hans, and some new faces... :)

Mike2015-02-06 15:33:39
So wait...are you saying some of the other guys' score is still here?

someone2015-02-06 17:06:23
Music Department
Steven Kofsky ... music production services
