Okay, I want this. Where, how much? lol<br><br>And I'm willing to bet that even those Jablonsky fans who didn't like the score wanna hear the complete album.@Ahmad i think end credits :PDo you know the chronological order for this one Hybrid? I had quick glance at the complete here and the OST album seems massively out of order16 hours of music?<br>Can we hear those 16 hours of music one day?I saw the film today. It's amazing and wonderful. The feeling and emotions of the 1994 film keep untouchables. The score is simply breathtaking. The songs are incredible. The stampede scene is so intense just like the 1994. Hans has made an intense, epic and beautiful score.
Additional arrangements instead of additional music? Even part of the score not on album?Because if the film is an american production, it has no choice but be recorded in the US... That's the rule...<br><br>When the film is a UK co-production, and/or partly shot in the UK etc... (like, for instance, every Nolan film, or King Arthur), it can be recorded in the UK... That's why it's way easier to get an expanded set of The Dark Knight or Interstellar than... the POTC saga...<br><br>I remember the AFM (American Federation of Musicians) wasn't pleased when Interstellar got recorded at Air Studios in London, claiming it had to be US Recorded... But Nolan's a brit, Syncopy is a British operation based in London...> You gotta realize one thing, this score is US recorded so every new 15 min of score you release, you gotta pay back reuse fees. So it's very complicated & costy and that's why they released "only" 15 min of extra score.<br><br>> If it was recorded in the UK, they could have released 2 hours of bonus tracks it wouldn't have cost anything more... :)<br><br>Wow, I didn't know that. So, why not record every movie in the UK/Europe then? Not sure how long it will take but I think this re-use fee will drop once they record every score outside the US.<br>However, how much money did the movie make in the Boxoffice and Home Entertainment? I'm sure that money can't be an issue here.<br><br>How cool would it be to officially buy the sessions in a collectors box (in general for all movies), signed by the composer and director and maybe cast members... I'm sure that could be sold for $200+. The studios are wasting an opportunity here... Sure, you can copy music but you can't copy the signatures. That's exactley what I thought.<br><br>There was one other thing I thought was great.<br><br>I went with my parents, who have heard Zimmer's music, from when I'm listening to it, but they said to me that you can hear, that it's him, without even knowing all of his music.<br>They said, the thematic content, the bombast of it, it is just pure Zimmer.<br><br>Hope Spongebob & Wonder Woman 1984 are with a large orchestral/choir ensemble, and with WW1984 some 80's synths!!Having seen it, the biggest thing I realized was that I missed this kind of scoring in movies. When the HZ of the 90s-2000s left in favor of experiments, it seems no one replaced him, so this area of "big sounding scores with instantly memorable and beautiful themes" has just been abandoned. Hopefully seeing/hearing this version of The Lion King now will give some ideas to executives/directors regarding musical choices!
No GITS cannot be released, it's technically not possible... That's why Lorne leaked his part of the score himself...This is great news.Maybe Balfeís scores to Ghost in the Shell now can get released.<br>Over 6000 people have signed the petition for Ghost.yea, that should be enough for meIt's comforting to get a reconfirmation that it's coming. <br>Now we'll just have to cross our fingers that the process doesn't take months like that one other release ;) <br><br>Which one will be out first: End Credits or X-Periments? :Pyes!yes!yes!<br>i can't wait!!!!!!!
And I can tell you Hans brought the matter to the very head of Disney Music... Everyone seems game to release it, just need to work out some technicalities...He mentions the Dark Phoenix second CD here. 20:33 onwards.<br><br>https: //www.youtube.com/watch? v=mHmKZbUZiIA<br><br>"I did a film recently that got away, but we wrote 16 hours of music. We're actually fighting to get another CD released because the film didn't do anything, just to have it out there. Because you can't use again in something else, so it'd be nice to have it out there. So that it doesn't disappear into a rubbish bin".Life's Not Fair first part is similar > Tears of the Sun - Yekeleni Part 1 lolAny idea on the name of the song from the trailer?Honestly the biggest problem with this new version for me is the lack of new variants of the themes. They mostly just repeat verbatim Hans' original ideas with little to no innovation or changes made most of the time. <br><br>It also doesn't help that cues that did have wonderful variations such as "Nala Attacks", and "Nala & Simba" have been shortened to mostly cut them out. The worst cut being for the ending to "Mufasa's Ghost" which originally peaked the emotion with that lovely variation of Simba/The One True King theme transitioning into the Pride Rock theme, all of which is absent now.

I'd love to hear any alternates here that haven't been released already. Dutchman Arrival as an alternate especially, and the second alternate for Rum Locker, considering how fantastic the first one is.

Sideshow Bob2018-10-28 13:58:59
dude we get it you want to hear alternates. you just said it three different times but how do you know an alternate will sound anything like its regular version , thats why itís called an alternate

CaptainRG2018-10-29 00:33:41
I'd have no way of knowing what it will sound like. Some alternates are barely noticeable, others are completely different versions. If they're nothing like the original, they're basically the same as brand new tracks. I'd expect any fan of the scores to be very interested in hearing those. Just wondering if anyone here might know more. I was simply responding to two other threads on similar topics.

Any chance of these cues showing up? It's really fascinating to think of some unheard tunes in all of that.

For context, DMC has always been my favorite score. I appreciate so much that you have brought forth the complete scores. I'm curious what all goes into such a project.

Poisonheadcrab reply Replies: 8 || 2018-02-12 14:39:35
You seem to have a good amount of cues streaming on here along with some good unreleased bits. I'm just wondering if you could upload a little more. I am not asking you to put the entire score on here, just a handful of cues.

The tracks I'm most interested in
-Swann Helps Elizabeth/Elizabeth Threatens Beckett

-Jack Shows Will The Cloth

-The Dutchman Appears

Concerning Alternate Tracks:
I'm am very interested in a lot of the Alternates listed here and would like to be able to hear some of them. Again, I'm not asking you to upload every single one, just ones that sound significantly different than their counterparts, if it's just the same cue with slightly different orchestration then there is no need to bother.

Mike (OTM)2018-02-12 22:05:06
Well the way Hybrid has been doing it so far, he uploads one track for each composer to highlight their contributions. But you know, a general sampling isnít a bad idea..

Iamtommie2018-02-12 22:47:58
I don't think Hybrid is going to upload those tracks because they're simply not available anywhere. And there are a lot of people looking for it. Just like the missing cues for At World's End.

Medigo2018-02-13 01:03:39
I wasnt aware AWE even had missing cues, outside of post-session film edits

superultramegaa2018-02-13 03:58:11
Well the main cue that's missing from At World's End for me, is Will and Bootstrap. Yes there's an SFX filled one, but I've never found a clean version of that track. Yet it's listed on this site and even has a Lorne Balfe credit. Not sure where Hybrid got that, but I'd love that one.

Poisonheadcrab2018-02-13 07:14:15
There is also the "New Love Suite" which is likely what the Treasure collection Suite "Marry Me" is based on.

Edmund Meinerts2018-02-13 10:11:05
I doubt "New Love Suite" is substantially different from "Marry Me", if at all.

Poisonheadcrab2018-02-13 13:12:46
@-Edmund Meinerts

Pirates Day One, Just Good Business & Hoist The Colors Suite contain the same basic structure as their original counterparts albeit re-orchestrated and/or shortened. Marry Me could very well be a slightly altered version of the original suite but since I haven't heard the original I can't say for sure.

CaptainRG2018-10-28 11:41:51
Aye, there are a lot of missing tracks from this one that I'd love to hear. Seems DMC got the short end of the straw comparatively.

Does anybody know who is performing Jack's theme piano demo? Is it Hans himself?

Mike2018-10-14 03:49:14
I've wondered this one too, for a while...

Gotham Rogue2018-10-17 03:06:56
As a pianist myself I think I can safely say this wasnít Hans...from hearing the demo I doubt any one pianist could play it all. This could be multiple recordings on top of each other, or (more likely) one of Hansí typical computer demos.

Bill Koufo2018-10-17 15:48:08
To be honest,it sounds a bit computerish to me also. It lacks expressiveness and the "voices" of both hands are at the same volume most of the time, a bit confusing for the ears.

Hybrid, thereís a cool organ variation of Davy Joneís theme in the film that comes right before Liarís Dice, although I donít see it listed here. Is it mixed in with another unreleased cue or is it not on the list at all?

Hybrid, it's been a while since somebody asked but in Dead Man's Chest there are 18 missing cues on a grand total of 15 minutes. In At World's End there are 2 missing cues of gramd total of 5 minutes.

My question is if you know if they are ever going to be released??
Thanks very much

Yep, that's why I wrote "expanded", you know.

Among the missing cues you have :

Norrington Teases Liz
Persuade Me
Elizabeth Threatens Beckett
Monkey Stings
Will Watches The Dice Game
Cannibal Lights Fire
Elizabeth Helps Norrington
Swann & Beckett Make A Deal
The Dock Scene
Swann Helps Elizabeth
Tia Dalma Recognizes Him
Norrington Overlay
...

For something like 15 to 20 min...

and, what i can called it now ! unrelesed tracks or Hybrid@ you know the tracks titles from music sheets !!

Hybrid Soldier2012-12-26 16:15:46
I reconstructed the POTC 2 & 3 (partial for 3) cue lists myself. Was a long and hard work. The original files came without titles, just "1m1, 1m2, 1m3...", and if you're all getting something clean like this, it's because I spent some time on it... Pirates have no secrets for me ! :)

Jilal2012-12-30 13:45:27

What of Hans Zimmer is there in the "Climbing Up" cue? His name is under it, but I don't hear any of his themes in there...

Hybrid Soldier2014-04-04 23:18:52
Well the core of the cue is actually a rearranged version of the "Gladiator ripoff" from POTC 1... That's why... lol

Anonymous reply Replies: 1 || 2014-10-16 16:01:55
What did Hans Zimmer write in the Haunted Dress cue? I didn't hear any of his themes is all.

Mike2014-10-16 16:11:44
He probably wrote the core cue, because it was also in POTC4 and there's no reference to Trevor Morris on that OST's page. So my guess is Hans wrote the cue and Trevor Morris just did a slight rearrangement or addition.

Anonymous reply Replies: 3 || 2014-04-04 18:22:46
may i ask who determines who does which cues? and what determines whether HZ does a cue by himself?

Lambegue2014-04-04 19:32:14
Usually, Zimmer writes musical suites, that is to say pieces of music inspired by the film, but not written to match a precise scene : in this case, the suites are "Jack Sparrow theme", "Davy Jones theme" and "Kraken theme", plus all that was remaining from the first movie.
Then, the additionnal composers take the suites, arrange and edit them (or even write some new music based more or less closely on the suites) to match the picture. I think all this is mainly organized by Zimmer, even if there is probably quite a lot of discussion between the members of the crew in order to determine who does what. Sometimes, it seems as if Zimmer himself does some cues for the picture, but I don't think it is such a frequent thing...But again, I'm not the one who knows best about this on this site.

Hybrid Soldier2014-04-04 19:38:16

Looks like we will never have that pure organ version of the Kraken theme :(

Mike reply Replies: 8 || 2013-06-01 10:47:47
I assume Hans is responsible for the "Lord Cutler Beckett" suite from the next film, but did he compose the little snippets of the Beckett theme heard in here?

Areozz2013-06-01 22:59:39
The "Lord Cutler Beckett" suite was actually written for Dead Man's Chest. Much like the "Jack Sparrow" suite found on DMC's OST, this Beckett suite explores all the aspects of Beckett's theme. It IS the origin of all the little snippets of the Beckett theme heard in here. It's a shame that such a large portion of the Beckett suite never saw any use in the movies, though.

Mike2013-06-02 02:59:33
That may very well be correct, but the Beckett suite isn't listed on this page. It's on the AWE page.

Edmund Meinerts2013-06-02 18:39:36
I'm pretty sure that the suite was written for AWE. The only aspect of the Cutler Beckett theme heard in DMC is the three-note rising ostinato (1-2-3-1-2-3-1-2), whereas all of the other aspects of the theme don't come into play until AWE.

NM2013-06-03 22:27:47
The Cutler Beckett theme is really good. Pity there were no theme suites for OST. Surely the 5 minutes of Mermaids isn't all Hans wrote for that one?

Mike2013-06-03 23:55:46
No theme suites? If you by the Treasures Collection you get:

Cutler Becket
Pirate Lord of Singapore
Just Good Business
The Heart of Davy Jones
Marry Me
A demo of the Pirates theme
A demo of Jack Sparrow's theme

Areozz2013-06-04 00:43:43
OST, here, stands for "On Stranger Tides". NM was asking if there were any suites for Pirates 4 outside of the Mermaids suite. I would expect not, given all the complications that score had. All of the new themes introduced in Pirates 4 play basically in their entirety in any one place that they appear (slight exaggeration) so there wouldn't be much more in a suite.

Mike2013-06-04 00:47:27
Ah, I see. Aren't Blackbeard and Angelica theme suites?

Areozz2013-06-04 01:06:10
Blackbeard? On the original soundtrack? I guess if you want to, you could call it a suite. It's only composed of three cues that just happen to contain Blackbeard's theme and that were somewhat lazily mixed together: cue #1 is Blackbeard's introduction, cue #2 is Blackbeard's demise, and cue #3 is the one named "Fry The Cook".

And again, with "Angelica": I guess you could call it a suite, but technically, I don't think it is even Pirates music. The very basics of the theme were maybe written by Zimmer, but the music was done by Rodrigo y Gabriella, whose names appear precisely nowhere in the credits accompanying the Pirates 4 demos.

And again, Hans ALONE arranged one of the best cues in the film (AWE's was "Trying to Get Lost", DMC's is "Abandon Ship - Jack's Demise"). So with due respect, if you say Hans has lost it, you don't know what you're talking about! :)

Edmund Meinerts2013-05-28 10:44:00
Yes, but this was seven years ago now. The people who tend to say Hans has lost it are talking about the last few years. And I must admit that sometimes I do think that to myself, because he hasn't really wowed me in a while - Inception and TDKR are in that drony pseudo-intellectual not-so-thematic style of his I don't like much (though they both have good individual moments) and SH2 and PotC 4 were shameful followups to good or even excellent scores, to name the bigger efforts. Hopefully Man of Steel will bring back a bit of that spark I've misseed from him lately.

Ds2013-05-28 13:36:16
I'm sure it will. From what we've heard MoS looks like a good mix of the old melodic Zimmer themes and the sharp, violent sound of TDKR.

Mike2013-05-28 19:45:39
I'm thinking Man of Steel will be something great, particularly with the film. But I'm going to remain slightly skeptical for now, just in case. :P

Anonymous2013-05-28 19:59:20
Hybrid, do you know, out of curiosity, why it is that Hans has other people arrange most of the film cues? Does he want to give the other composers experience? Is he too busy? I'm just wondering.

Jimmer reply Replies: 5 || 2012-12-30 13:34:03
@Hybrid: Where does the track "Wheel of Fortune" from Lorne Balfe's website fit in on this track list?

Hybrid Soldier2012-12-30 15:03:22
The cue on Lorne's site is "Climbing Up" (despite its name there, though the names on the site are mostly random titles).

Should be 3m19C or 3m20... :P

Peter2012-12-30 17:01:40
You're right ; Hybrid you add this track (3m19?) Climping Up from LB'Site to the track, but this track isn't in the recording sessions release, i don't know why ? we can add it and the quality is the same to the RE.SE.

Jimmer2012-12-31 13:46:04
@Hybrid: Ok. Thanks Hybrid. Grateful for your work and effort. And if you have the composer list for At World's End (Expanded Score) that'd be incredible too :-)

Mike2013-01-01 01:25:34
He already gave the credits to POTC3 on the AWE expanded score's page. Look in the comments. ;)

Mark2013-03-21 14:13:43
Too bad it's just expanded and missing a lot of music :( - best of the 4 scores
