Just want shrike death cue!I feel as though Menken did a bit more to differentiate his 2017 Beauty and the Beast from the 1991 one. The major pieces like "Prologue" and "Transformation" were left relatively intact but otherwise the rewrite was a bit more substantial than what Zimmer and crew did here. Compare the final battle music from the original (which consists to a large degree of upbeat instrumental versions of "Be Our Guest") to the remake (which is largely serious, straightforward orchestral action music). I haven't heard his new Aladdin so I'm not sure what the old:new ratio was there.

I'm not necessarily complaining, this is basically what I expected the score would be from the moment it was announced. The problem lies deeper, with the entire premise of these pointless remakes that allow very little wiggle room for freshness or creativity. Of course, I have no doubt this movie will make north of a billion dollars and give the Disney execs further license to print money. Maybe by the time they've remade every single film in their vault enough time will have passed that they can just start from the beginning again and nobody need ever be subject to the indignity of an original story ever again. It's a variation of the theme Anthem from the first Top Gun film by Harold Faltermeyer.whats the name of the song being played in this trailer?
is it available onlineThis is the perfect companion piece to the original. It is like the high level concert version that Zimmer never did with the original Lion King.
Is there any form of chronological order to the original with the deluxe tracks?Looks like your wish was granted ;)
It's out for me and "Ask The Sea" is exactly the cue I wanted :D It's so good! I actually tweeted at him asking if he'd consider including it in the release - he didn't react to my tweet then and now I wonder if he read it or he planned to include it all along.

I've only seen the movie once and I haven't listened to the score much so I need to revisit it soon. Thanks, that's great!!

Hooe those sessions will be here soon. Still a lot of music music. Would have liked it better if those remixes, were actually score tracksMera Montage is the big rock vocal cue used during the Sicily Battle & the Wine scene.

Home Invasion the opening soldiers barging in to capture Atlanna, as well as a part of the Black Manta / Orm negotiation scene.

Saving Pops is... the saving pops scene...

Ahab Wave is the tsunami scene + and when Aquaman arrives to the sub to fight Manta's gang.

Ask the Sea is when Aquaman refuses to help Manta's dad.

Olbigation is the soft piece in the plane when Aquaman & Mera talk.

Dunes is the comedic Dunes slide scene...
I just want the Sicily Battle music!Having seen it I can say visually it is incredible, definitely a work of art on that level. What sets it back (for me personally) is the lack of a strong emotional core. The choice to make the animals realistic looks great, but doesnít have the same range that the hand drawn version had in terms of giving the animals the facial characteristics like the original. Soulless might be kind of harsh, but I didnít feel anything throughout. Also doing a shot-for-shot remake probably wasnít the best approach.

Musically though; this definitely was a great reminder as to why the original score is still a classic. Like everyone has said, itís a perfect companion piece that actually fixes some minor flaws and fleshes out some ideas much better. Some important cues missing though.ďAsk The SeaĒ
Oh please be the cue I want...Deluxe edition releases tomorrow
http :// filmmusicreporter .com /2019/07/18/aquaman-deluxe-edition-soundtrack-to-be-released /Didn't Menken do much the same with Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast? I think the only ones who have been the most original with the scores to these remakes have been Danny Elfman and John Debney.

My personal view is this serves as a great compliment to the 1994 soundtrack, not an outright replacement. If you combined the two you'd get quite the meaty soundtrack.

As for the film itself, I highly doubt it will be as 'great' as the original, but that's not to say that it deserves the slating critics have given it either. I personally can't say - I haven't seen it yet.
Recently in China, a movie was released called Looking Up, and the soundtrack was released with Steffen Thum's score and main theme/additional music by Lorne Balfe.I have to agree. It's a stellar score and I love it, but it was written 25 years ago, nevertheless.
Still, credit where credit's due, as you mentioned, the new 'Stampede' is a beast of a track, really added to the original, as well as the 'Battle' cue, awesome stuff for sure.
Haven't seen the movie yet, but I really hope it measures up, at least in the same way the score does. Most of it sounds like a high quality youtube remix to me, honestly. it's serviceable but unnecessary.Probably Zimmer, in 1994. It's part of the demoes he included on the Legacy set so I'd say it's a safe bet.panpipes or flute doesnt matter, i just wondering who composed this :D

This score has great themes - Dubois and Vitaly are really fun and catchy - and the classical rearrangements are well-integrated, but something about the score as a whole doesn't work for me.

The action arrangements in particular (except for the Penguin chase) are just boring. I keep hearing the same trumpet patterns, dull violin swirling, and ascending lines again and again. There's no real form or tone to it.

The first score has a lot more feeling to it even with a less "sophisticated" orchestration.

ugh i really want that background song 'where did Alex go?'. specially that part when Alex climbs the wall of the tunnel and jumps, it plays a very beautiful, dramatic song. where can i get that?

So out of interest, how much of this did Zimmer actually write? It looks like he did pretty much nothing on this film.

Anonymous2013-05-31 06:59:23
I'm no expert, but he at least did:

--the main theme
--the opening
--supervised the other cues and gave them the go if he liked them

Is that right? :P

Ds2013-05-31 14:29:27
The tracks HZ did with Junkie XL are awesome, especially the entire Monte Carlo chase. Such a fun music :p

Hybrid, if you get that information, i'm curious about the involvment of HZ on a score like this. I mean it's a very good score for one of last year's best animation movies, but it's not as high-profile as TDKR was.

Hybrid Soldier2013-05-31 16:37:02
I won't lie, I'm pretty sure composers have a big freedom on those. HZ is doing the themes of course but I don't think he's as focused as he could be on, say, a Batman.

For the first Madagascar (which was really different cause it only had half an hour of score), he totally left in the middle and Dooley finished, cause he had a little movie called Batman Begins to work on... :P

Mike2013-05-31 20:11:01
He does seem to invest a lot of himself in the Nolan movies.

Lucius2013-06-01 11:23:32
Yeah you can tell the other composers were given freedom here. With TDKR or POTC the cues from other people still sound like Zimmer but here a lot of it doesn't even sound like him.

Circus Zaragoza - Vitaly's Story sounds so much like Night at the Museum at the beginning!

MSC reply Replies: 5 || 2013-04-22 07:27:23
Does this list include the end credits?

I'm looking for a short segment just at the end of the end credits, just before the song credits appear at the very end (DVD release between running time 88:20 and 88:46 minutes).

Does anyone know what this is called?

Ds2013-04-22 12:24:26
The end credits are a compilation of tracks previously played in the movie.

The track you speak about is New York City Surprise, it's also on the official soundtrack album!

MSC2013-04-24 23:50:57
Thank you but that doesn't seem to be it. I don't have the DVD on hand at the moment but I believe it's the short section just before "New York City Surprise" begins.

Ds2013-04-25 00:09:03
I used the european dvd. The running time can vary a little according to the system (PAL, ...). The short section just before that is in track 2: "Bad Dream - New York City" (0'59"-1'20") :)

MSC2013-04-25 20:13:56
Wow, quick and helpful responses, thank you! I checked the official soundtrack which unfortunately doesn't list this track. Is there a way to purchase it somewhere?

Ds2013-04-25 20:37:50
No this track is in the unofficial release only, no way to purchase it. For that your only friend is google :)

As all discs marked 'Unofficial Release', there is no official way to listen them. So you wouldn't get the answer here.

Is the track name "19. Knife Sting - We're Going To America" correct, because I have seen some tracklist with word "Africa", not "America" this track's name?

T-Mann036 reply Replies: 5 || 2012-08-03 07:24:43
Out of the 36 tracks of Madagascar 3 complete film score, what is your favorite track?

To me, my favorite is Monte Carlo Chase Part 1. Somewhere in the middle, I can almost hear the alternate tune of "Skorponok".

Hybrid Soldier2012-08-03 12:14:40
Cannonball was great track not on OST...

Love the "Con Te Partiro" arrangements too... xD

And OF COURSE the "Red Octoberian" Vitaly... :)

Still, I prefer Mada 2 over it...

I could give you full credits of who was in charge of which cue... :)

T-Mann0362012-08-03 21:13:05
If you want to do that, Soldier, we don't mind.
