Agreed!

It has an almost “heavy-metal waltz”-like quality to it. I love the use of the electronic-vocal effect that is used throughout the score, especially in certain unreleased cues. The big highlight of this score is Mayhem Downtown. Normally I'm not into that thrashing pounding metal/techno-esque sound but that cue sounds like if Verdi's Requiem had an unholy spawn with modern EDM and I find it strangely awesome.03.ExplosionFlushed Away Complete Motion Picture
Score (2006)02.Credits (2:07)
01. London Intro (1:16)great news! This sounds like good news. I always love Suites!!!!

Let's hope is does come in 10 days! The label?

Between this and KOTM... OMGYESSSS!!!!!!!!

So glad to see this get the MoS treatment, I’m sure that there will be plenty of great cues in film missing from the album (as usual with any Zimmer release) but having the suites and experimentations has me very excited!
Two CDs?! :O
Wish he had done this for another film that I won't name for the sake of not derailing this thread which begged for an extended release - oh well, Hans.

His music hyped me to see the movie and the Quicksilver clip sounds incredible. I can't wait.
So, info about the OST. It's gonna be 2 CDs. First CD will be film score. Second will be more suites & ideas (as I told you Hans wrote a lot of music within the past 1.5 year). No release date yet, but you bet they are rushing to have it ready in 10 days...I think we are all in for a nice surprise...Several clips of the film are on YT. With some music. Sounds like 90's score from HZ. Too bad the directing seems to come from an age movies didn't exist...No. It’s a boys choir. S&K bros is a girl’s choir
Seems like Scala & Kolacny Brothers. In what way is it "obvious", exactly, that Djawadi had more influence on that Training cue than Zimmer? It's basically just a statement of Zimmer's theme, and doesn't really sound notably "Djawadi-esque" to me in any way. Thanks for the credits updateA bit of who did what...Lorne also confirmed that he took charge of Mr.Charles, and without saying that Lorne was on the good side of Score in general, so his influence was substantially high.

I've noticed something curious during my digging into the ASCAP archies: one cue, apparently simply titled "The Lion King" which is also assigned the name "Lion King II Cues", was done by Zimmer. It wouldn't refer to the only pre-existing track in the film ("He Lives In You") which according to my copy of Rhythm Of The Pride Lands, Zimmer had nothing to do. It'd be a stretch to say it would be the end hit of "Circle Of Life" which can be heard at the title card. So, I'm wondering if Zimmer DID compose something for the film, maybe something that ended up rejected.

just now seeing this but that sounds interesting. did they originally want zimmer involved? i mean nick glennie smith is the next best thing for this series but that would be interesting

Zimmer probably demands far too high a price tag for a direct-to-DVD Disney sequel to afford.

Mike 2016-06-15 17:04:28
Well, he did do some consulting with Daniel Pelfrey for Joseph: King of Dreams following Prince of Egypt and, according to Pelfrey's website, helped out with song production. Granted, that's not nearly the same as being onboard for the project. :P

...and "Joseph" was Dreamworks, not Disney, which Zimmer has always been involved with anyway.

I'd completely forgotten about this being a thing. I agree with Edmund: Zimmer was probably too expensive for a direct-to-video sequel. I wouldn't have been surprised if he did consultation work with Nick Glennie-Smith.

Sad that none of the score is on here, despite it not being a shade on Zimmer's score for the first, it did have some good moments that would have made nice suites. His site has a few low-fi tracks in mono, but that's not the same thing.

Maybe someday, if Intrada keeps delving into the Disney Vault, the scores to all the Lion King films will appear, if not complete, then at least expanded. Here's hoping.

Yes! The music of 'Lion King' is a pre-pirate composition. The theme is the same with a little variation and the old percus of MediaVentures.

Nick Glennie Smith is really one of the best composers of Remote Control sequels.

I couldn't stop thinking of Pirates and Johnny Depp when watching the action scenes of this movie.

The soundtrack is great but I wonder why isn't a score track on the CD.
