Oh, come on. Just listen to the score, and if you hear a solo violin, that's Joshua Bell. If you really need pointers, start with the cue "503", which is also the end titles. It's basically a remix of "Chevaliers de Sangreal" at a slightly faster pace and with Bell over the top.Did he watch any of the other Superman Movies he didn't score? Oh wait those movies still kept to his standard...

I don't see what the big deal is. He should be aware of the reboot phenomena by now and it's a different animal from his.

TOTALLY different animal.I saw that article too, but it's misleading. The reason he says it'll be hard to watch is NOT the music, but rather because of Chris Reeve no longer playing Superman.

Good news about Star Wars, though!blog . zap2it . com/pop2it/2013/05/man-of-steel-will-be-hard-for-me-to-see-s ays-superman-composer-john-williams.html

I don't think he should be worried, there's only one Master in film music.I heard somewhere that Vidal now works in HGW's old studio, is that true?

Also, more to the point, is the score from FF6 going to get a release? The movie's already out and I haven't heard anything, which is making me a little nervous. I really like Vidal's scores (Cold Light of Day was excellent) and this is his biggest movie yet so I'm interested to hear it, especially if he actually keeps continuity with Tyler's themes. A different composer keeping the previous themes? I must be dreaming!
Thank you! :) I'm actually not really that sure about Lorne's specific credit (it could be "musical consultant") - but I'm sure it isn't "additional music".

I'm curious about the situation with this one, because it sounded like one of those "complicated scores" (and I don't mean a bad score - just a last minute rewrite, or something like that - the score itself is actually quite enjoyable). It borrows heavily from Brian Tyler's material for last two movies (mainly Letty's and the "family" theme) and it also features quite a few temp-track inspired cues (Mombasa, Time), but of course that's not a fault of a composer. :)Hybrid, can you tell me which tracks feature Joshua Bell as solo violin?I'm not pretty sure...im pretty sure A123 said it will be on the 25thDamn... ;-)
Lol, of course not...
it's just a stupid joke from some blokeany leak at 8:00 ? ^_^Vidal is quite linked to RCP indeed. Bruce Fowler orchestrated some of his movies.

Lorne "technical assistant" ? You sure ? No way, he wouldn't lose time on a film like that as tech assistant. Music consultant why not. This just looks like a credit to hide his true role. I'll do a little enquiry about that... :Pthis is going to be an intense(ly satirical) film.Just a little offtopic - does anyone know something about Lorne's/RCP involvement in Fast & Furious 6? There's a bunch of RCP credits (Lorne Balfe as technical assistant, Gavin Greenaway as conductor) in end titles of the movie + the whole score sounds quite "RCP-ish" in some places (it even features a few samples from the RCP sample library). Thanks! :)
Anybody else hear Curse of the Black Pearl in the first fifty seconds of "I Claim Your Sun"?Hybrid, any info on who did what?thank you very much my friend i really appreciate that :)i hope this is good :DGuitwo, here it is. Crappy quality though:

/watch?v=yhov2VdhbzA

Claire's Rescue, 01:30: sounds like the beginning of the Prometheus main title.

No new about a recording session or complete score unofficial release ?

Mr. Fate2012-11-19 23:06:59
No. And if there was news, it would have been presented here or elsewhere. That's why they call it news: because it is new to anyone. If you haven't heard any news, that means there is no news. You, of all people, ought to know this sort of thing by now.

Anonymous2012-11-20 03:57:01
Dear me, there's some right obnoxious twats on here. All Darth did was ask a simple question. Just because this site does not have it listed does not mean something hasn't leaked elsewhere. The Thin Red Line sessions tracklist was posted here by a user and have not yet been added to this site, so its quite feasible Prometheus might have been in a similar situation. Darth just wanted to know.

Really?2012-11-20 04:07:21
@Mr. Fate...
Really? You must still be in high school. What was the point in you even stating that?

Mr. Fate2012-11-20 04:57:53
Yummy! Hungry trolls! Let me throw you some material: nope, sorry. I am three years into college.

That's the first time I've ever been called out for pointing out such a blatant hole someone's faulty reasoning. Congratulations. Next time you should come up with a more creative name so we don't have to refer to you as "that dick who went by the name 'Really?'".

The bottom line: IF A COMPLETE SCORE COMING OUT OF RCP WERE TO GET LEAKED, YOU WOULD DEFINITELY KNOW ABOUT IT. IT WOULD NOT MATTER IF IT WAS DOCUMENTED ON THIS SITE OR NOT. ONE CANNOT SIMPLY MISS THE LEAKING OF A COMPLETE SCORE OUT OF RCP.

Good day.

D A R T H2012-11-20 10:14:04

Anonymous2012-11-21 16:15:11
You are either 3 years into college and still working on your freshman year or you are majoring in leisure studies? Right? You have all this time to be a jerk on a soundtrack forum! Sad. Grow up!

Mr. Fate2012-11-21 23:51:07
And, you dear sir? What, pray tell, are you currently studying? Could you perhaps be working toward a degree in Carrying on Petty Pointless Arguments with People Who Are Certainly More Mature Then You?

Sorry, friend. I am an engineer. Engineers, as you likely do not know as you seem horribly misinformed, rule the world. They are some of the smartest people this side of the Milky Way. And apparently I cannot use the excuse that I am at home. I'm sorry I'm on Thanksgiving break, with nothing much to do except carry on this trivial nonsense with you!

Bioscope2012-11-07 04:12:24
I noticed that there is a variation of lIFE that has a fanfare ending, instead of the crescendo used during the opening scene. Also, the exploding head scene has unreleased music if I am not mistaken.

Don't know what happened with the OST bootklet & credits, but I can confirm you there are no 2 but 3 HGW tracks on this CD !

"Earth" is indeed credited HGW... :)

Bioscope2012-10-06 13:34:57
Ok, I thought I wasn't hearing things when i recognised the "Life" motif played partially in "Earth". Thanks:-)

Hybrid Soldier2012-10-06 13:39:01
Yeah I think everybody thought the same, but publishing websites confirmed me that one is HGW as well... :)

D A R T H2012-10-10 18:01:05
i suppose HGW has worked on all tracks with MS but only on 2 or 3 alone...

Hybrid Soldier2012-10-10 19:06:50
HGW did NOT work with Marc.

Marc had already completed his work before HGW got in.

Marc did something like more than 50 cues, Harry wrote 5/6...

But yeah, they've known each other for more than 16 years... :P

David2012-10-10 22:30:37

Gee, maybe because people keep asking me if I have other shit. Like Pearl Harbor and The Last Samurai. THAT'S where I got the idea. It's common sense, do you know what that is?

Mr. Fate2012-10-11 00:42:46
Some people do and some people don't, David. But nobody fucking asked if you had it or not. Looks like you already know what being an arrogant, albeit immature, asshole is.

replace "going in" with "to close"
to close comes before going in ,in the movie.
Also Try Harder is not used.
They used it for the clip they released on the internet but they cut it out of the movie. Its only the beginning of the track that is used.

Aslo there is a theme with peter weyland later in the movie that is close to to close/going in, that is not on this album sadly. And the whole sandstorm soundtrack.
i really hope that there will be a more complete score later. Just like with robin hood

i also missed the soundtrack when Weyland is suiting up and the whole chat with vickers, and davids cat with elizabeth afterwards.
the whole thing was one track that was not included on the soundtrack.
and it was the same theme as with sandstorm/going in/too close
just not so loud.
was a really great track in my opinion

Everyone can compose music and call it submission.
Ridley Scott has been working with Marc Streitenfeld since 2000,
first as his music supervisor, later as composer.
Nikola Kostelac composer? I've never heard of that guy.
It is a fan made edition, nothing more.

For all people who like a mixture of generic sound combined
with Vangelis style and "alien movie" sound engineering.

Well, it has not seemed to my me to be brilliant (but I believe that with the time ...), it if, Harry Gregson-Williams's cues are tremendous, correct, but sure that with the time.

Not much more than you Ad, it's just that apparently HGW has been writing additional music for it, some extra help.

Merci! :-)

What!?
Harry Gregson-Williams as an additional composer!? It's a Ridley Scott film, so Marc Streitenfeld must write the whole score. Why is that? I'm a huge fan of Harry Gregson-Williams but I don't understand this. What do you think of it Hybrid Soldier? What could be the possibility of HGW's involvement on this score?

Snake; probably to make it have more of a creepy feel to it, cause HGW has done some creepy music work

So...This score is going to be a mix of RoObin Hood and...the Grey?

PASSS!!!

Maybe Marc Streitenfeld hasn't enough time to complete it alone? Or his work lacked in something. Idk but the choice of HGW isn't surprising, he works on every Tony Scott movie since many years. Tony Scott is also producing Prometheus.

You mean it's all family business ? ;)

Ds2012-04-18 12:18:01
It was just an idea, maybe you know the actual answer? :)

Hybrid Soldier2012-04-18 12:49:15
No this time I have no more information than you. I guess we'll find out soon enough anyway !

Ever since HGW is the kind of guy who steps into the breach to help - remember Armageddon!!!

Geoffrey2012-04-28 03:18:29
And don't forget : HGW already worked for Ridley Scott. Did you ever heard about a small movie called Kingdom of Heaven ?

There's a new behind-the-scene video featuring some background music.
I don't know if it's an outtake of Streitenfeld's score or not, but I thought it was pretty interesting action music.

It's miles away from Goldsmith's Alien, mostly generic modern hollywood scoring, but could be interesting in its own right.

Given that Streitenfeld's music is some of the most bland and insipid in all of Hollywood, it is likely that Scott or Fox demanded someone to write some additional cues - ie, ones with thematic material xD

Did you watch "The Grey"? Sreitenfeld did an incredible job for it.

Of course it's not a stand-alone soundtrack, but in the movie it is absolutely great.
