For a film of this genre, the score is f'n brilliant! I love Steve Jablonsky's horror works just as much as his big epic orchestral works. "The Amityville Horror" is another brilliant score of this style by him! AMAZING!

Dakota2011-05-29 07:11:14
Ths is easily one of the best horror scores. A perfect 10 for Steve Jablonsky in my book. I love the main theme. I forget where I heard it from, but I remember reading or someone telling me - a good theme is one you can always whistle or hum. Thanks Hybrid!!

Agntdman2011-11-05 04:35:33
Is this really the complete score? I know the movie itself is only around 100 minutes, so I'm just curious. Cause I'm under the impression it's just the commercial score release. I know it was never commercially released, but I think I got the point across. I just like having it labeled correctly in iTunes (complete score, original motion picture score, expanded score) because it irks my OCD. I also ask because the album art says "Original Motion picture Score"

Anonymous2011-11-05 20:14:32
COMMERCIAL CD/RELEASE refers to the (naturally) the official, store-bought CD. In the case of F13th, the commercial CD is a soundtrack album, not a score.

PROMO usually refers to something offered officially as a promotional item - either online, from the composer, their agency. This was offered for free online, as promotion, so technically its a promo.

EXPANDED usually refers to a bootleg thats longer than the commercial CD but not complete.

COMPLETE is self explanatory :)

For a completely unreleased score, I just label it as I would a regular album in iTunes. So my album tag would just read "Name of Movie".

Sooooooo to me, this is a promo. It was widely available for free on the music company's website.

Agntman2011-11-05 21:25:52
I know the difference between a commercial/expanded/promo/complete release. But this one states "Original Motion Picture Score" on the album artwork, where as the site lists it as "Complete Score"

And I'm under the impression it's the commercial score because I was told it was going to be released in stores, or at least on iTunes. That would make it COMMERCIAL. It's commercially available.

A Promo score is a shorter version of an OST's score put together. Here, like this:

Agntdman2011-11-05 21:27:29
And commercial CAN refer to a score. Sherlock Holmes, all 4 Pirates, Transformers 1-3, The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons are all RCP scores I have physically purchased at the store, thus making them COMMERCIAL

Papapalpatine772011-11-05 21:53:56
Along with the reel slates and cue numbers, it should look like this:

(I renamed some of my tracks)

1.) 1m01 "Friday the 13th" (Opening Title)
2.) 1m02 Campfire Story
3.) 1m03 Romance Bridge
4.) 1m04 Not a porno
5.) 1m06 Wade Kill / The Voorhees House
6.) 1m07 The Lcoket
7.) 2m09 Sleeping Ke-Bag
8.) 2m10 Chasing Whitney / Campers Finished Off
9.) 2m14 Clay's First Stop
10.) 2m15 Old Lady
11.) 3m20 Pot Farmer's Harvest
12.) 3m21 Barn Kill / The Hockey mask
13.) 3m23 Broken GPS
14.) 3m27 Lakeside Machete
15.) 3m28 Dock Head Stab
16.) 3m29 Jason's Canoes
17.) 3m30 Whitney Alive
18.) 3m30 Jason & Whitney
19.) 4m35 Calling the Police
20.) 4m37 Tool Shed Sports
21.) 4m38 Chewy Dies
22.) 4m40 Lawrence Looks for Chewy
23.) 4m41 Lawrence's Death
24.) 4m42 Curtains for Bree / Cop Dead
25.) 4m43 Trent Gets a Ride
26.) 5m44 Whitney Free / Jenna is Jabbed
27.) 5m45 The Bus
28.) Death of Jason / Say Hi to Mommy

I've never known an Original Score to have the slates and cues, so I'm thinking this is the complete score.

Papapalpatine772011-11-05 21:57:11
Oops. Death of Jason / Say Hi to Mommy should be 5m46. And tracks 9, 13, 14, and 19 are by Pieter A. Schlosser. 5m45 is Steve Jablosnky & Jay Flood

"But this one states "Original Motion Picture Score" on the album artwork, where as the site lists it as "Complete Score"

Thats because its a fan-made cover. Original Score is fine as a title because calling it Complete would imply there was a shorter version before hand.

"A Promo score is a shorter version of an OST's score put together."

WRONG. A promo can be a complete score. The Departed FYC is a promo and its complete. Many promo CDs are complete. Do your research, Dak :)

"I've never known an Original Score to have the slates and cues"

Wtf do you mean? Any recorded score has slates and cues, lol.

//////2011-11-07 04:36:28
I disagree with you about an FYC promo being complete. They're all selections from the original score (mostly the key tracks) of the film put together for consideration.

I think what Agntdman means about the reel and slate numbers are that a lot of times when a complete score and or recording sessions are released the reel and slate numbers are released with them. The Dark Knight and Avatar are 2 that come to mind. But this isn't always the case. Am I right Agntdman?

Anonymous2011-11-07 21:22:56
" I disagree with you about an FYC promo being complete. They're all selections from the original score (mostly the key tracks) of the film put together for consideration."

You cannot disagree with fact. The Departed FYC promo is the complete score, check it yourself cue by cue. Its 50 plus minutes long, which is all the score heard in the film.

Areozz2011-11-07 21:29:10
Are you stupid? The slash guy is making a generalization. You've stated a fact and he's stated a generalization. Both of you are valid.

Stygian2013-02-03 00:22:45
there are a lot of "holes" in the slate #'s. are they filled by VA music?

p.s. it's been awhile since I gave this score a listen, let alone even took the time to view the film. work with me here.

Mr. Charles2013-02-07 01:56:56
It should all fit together. Let me go through it all and I'll post the tracklist with the VA songs, including slates

Stygian2013-02-08 04:41:43
thanks man.

The Dizzy Vizzy2016-07-01 19:26:27
Does anyone know where I can actually BUY this thing? It's NOT on Amazon or anywhere else I've looked.. I've even tried to find it on sites for download but with ZERO LUCK.

Anyone? I own both Killer Cut and the Blu-ray version which also has the theatrical release, but I cannot find the score anywhere.

Many thanks and I hope someone replies... :P
