It's nothing short of a masterpiece, a modern opera. The choir is beautiful, and the choice of gospel for the first track gives it a unique identity, though I'm not sure how well it meshes with the orchestra. It feels a bit off, but will hopefully improve for me on further listens.

The composition, has to me, elevated Powell to the status of the second best living composer (Williams is still first for now). It's pure orchestral beauty and mastery with variety of texture, color, and style, with seamless tonal transitions. The complexity rivals some of the great works of the past.

It's strange to me that this is called "choral works". Sure the choir is an important element, but it really should be named "Hubris Symphony", or "Hubris: The Opera", because that's the status the album deserves.

The Syndicate (Unused) (6:00)
36. Change Of Plan (Unused) (5:47)Rogue One is a bit of an odd one. From what I'd heard, Desplat had joined on the condition he'd be allowed to do his own thing and not ape Williams. But once they decided to overhaul the film, they pressured him to go that exact direction. Things stayed still for a while (in which he still got paid) before he was finally let go very late into production. So the idea he sorta just left is interesting, so I'm curious to hear what that was about.

For BW, it seems very likely to me that Marvel simply were unsure about Alexandre's music, so I'm guessing they hired Balfe to do some demos and decided from there. Who knows what the exact timeline is, but I'd wager it'd have to at least be this year if he's been on it a bit. Especially with AD's name having stayed on the posters during it.Hybrid, Desplat left Rogue One just for his own idea? I know he left that movie beacuse schedule conflict for the reshoots.
But for Black Widow seems that the replacement was since months ago with Lorne writing and recording the score at the same timeht tp:// filmmusicreporter. com/2020/04/01/ track-list-for-disneys-live-action-mulan -soundtrack-album-revealed/

Why release a tracklist for an album that won't be released for another 6 months at least. That's just a punch in the gut, in my opinionSo it won't be a last minute and hasty job?
No idea but he was on it for a bit, I think.Hybrid, do you know how long Lorne had to score?Score is recorded already.Yup, which makes me wonder if they had to wait before announcing it, considering Desplat was still being listed in posters prior to the delay.I think Lorne teased this some time ago by sending a picture of researching Russian music on insta (maybe)

I can't believe that Alexandre Desplat, who is a good composer left the film just like I remember Rogue One. Well, Now i Hope that Lorne Balfe makes a great score just like he does always.Comes out on April 3rd. Keep hearing that the music is very Lion King style. How can i download it?

Has anybody heard any new news about a physical CD release?

theeaglesfan0052011-08-04 21:24:27
im hoping that's the 'expanded' one.. i mean video games have done it... i bought the Halo 3 soundtrack & its was 2 cd's physical

Anonymous2011-08-05 02:22:10
Yeah sometimes people pay for rare scores and then the seller does not send them to the payee. ****ing disgraceful behavior if you ask me...

Zimmerbeotch2011-08-05 04:16:25
Dont get fooled by trolls, man. LOOK at the activity on these board recently. Make sure you know who you're dealing with legit, because I'm sure you've realized by now that based on the activity on this site, you can get fooled pretty easy. NEVER buy the claims 100% ...Buy it at 20% and make them work 80% for their claims.

All else is BS. Protect yourself.

Afterbite2011-08-05 04:24:26
I'll make sure to be aware who I deal with, then...

by the by, for anyone whos' contacted 'agent jones', hes a fake. supposedly had a rotf complete & gave me the magic box cues, for $50 itunes no less >:( thought they were real till I found the website. I was pissed

Takehiro2011-08-05 04:29:53
@Afterbite: Oh man, that blows. Sorry you got shafted... what is this iTunes gift cards business anyway? Lol.

zimmerbeotch2011-08-05 05:02:22
ya that does blow....just be careful. Its too easy to get scammed in here.

Anonymous2011-08-05 06:23:30
im not seeing any cues on magic boxes' website.........?

Mr. Fate2011-08-05 16:29:31
So...Mr. Jones is a fake? --he said with a dry, lifeless voice.

Elsewhere on here someone just traded some music to Jones for a supposed complete At World's End score, which Jones did post a fairly convincing track list for. The other guy traded his music and then Jones "accidentally" sent the wrong file. The other guy has not heard back from him since. This is very depressing.

Zimmerbeotch 2011-08-05 16:51:04
Like I said look at the recent activity over the last MONTH:

Suddenly tracklists appear from people claiming they have scores for TF3, Pirates 4, and now Pirates 3? Cmon. Thats a bit strange dont you think? Especially when all they do is put the tracklist on here as baiting to get people's attention.

Dont be fooled. Sorry about your lost 50 bucks on those Tf2 tracks....Man that sucks.

I think this is a catch 22. reason I say this is unless someone gives examples nobody can possibly believe someone has it. Problem with this logic is even if the person does have it, they more than likely can't leak it anyway, so were back to square one again.

Anonymous2011-07-30 18:38:33
Exactly. I think the person doesn't have it, or else they would POST A TRACKLIST OF SOME SORT. But no. Not gonna happen. No one has anything.

I like all tracks except Our final hope, no a good end theme for me if you compare with TF1 or TF2 end themes... the structure of the last 2 - 3 minutes is strange and not very pleasant to ear...

Anonymous2011-07-22 19:14:14
I agree, I mean its an ok track, but for the end of the Transformers trilogy? no :/

hans blew the ending to inception away with "Time" regardless how it ended so, just using that piece of music left me satisfied even more

Dakota2011-07-22 19:20:04
I agree, Time is amazing. But my favorite piece off of Inception is "Don't Think About Elephants", one of the 2 bonus tracks.

Anonymous2011-07-22 19:29:48
lol yes, that is also mine xD

Hybrid Soldier2011-07-22 19:40:34
What are you talking about ?

Our Final Hope is not an ending track...

It's stuck right in the middle of the film, and only 30 sec of it appear in the film...

And as for "ending", it's the major disappointment : the film has NO ending... Just one damn bad 2 min scene, not even a conclusion... There's nothing... I'm so pissed Bay fucked up the end of the trilogy like that... :S

Dakota2011-07-22 22:11:09
I agree, Hybrid. It just abruptly ended. Oh well. But the score is awesome and I cannot wait for the physical CD to come out. Any chance you can tell us which tracks are by who please?

Billy2011-07-28 17:43:05
Wow. "Our Final Hope" is one of my favourite songs off the soundtrack. But to each his own, I guess.

D A R T H2011-07-29 17:43:49
oups !

@hybrid : Any informations about the correct track order ?

D A R T H2011-07-29 17:44:55
what is the scene "illustrated" by our final hope ?

kaka2011-07-29 18:51:17
the scene illustrated is the recruitment/preparation scene during the final battle which segues into a scene of the Wreckers driving thorugh the streets with Optimus - I believe it's right before Shockwave pops up. Its brief.

Okay, I'm gonna put an end to this Jablonsky - Hemsey thing. Yes Jablonsky's "It's Our Battle" theme sounds like "Mind Heist", big whoop. We have NO proof that he actually was like, "Hey, I'm gonna emulate Zack Hemsey's Mind Heist." It doesn't matter what you people think or say, there is no actual proof aside from the similarities in melodies and style. If you guys have seen the new Amazing Spiderman trailer, the cue in the beginning is "Serenata" by Atomic Mix Lab (Boomerang! Music) which has an EXACT match to the well known "Dead Island Trailer Theme" by Giles Lamb. Are you gonna say Giles Lamb ripped off "Serenata", sure you could, but you'd be sadly mistaken, because any and ALL music by Atomic Mix Lab can only be heard by music supervisors and they're really tight about their music. Also, there's another company out there, a part of the well known trailer music industry, Immediate Music. Trailer Beast is a part of the company and one of their albums features a cue that in the opening, exactly matches the melody of the track "Eclipsed Heart". Christopher Young couldn't have ripped it off, he doesn't have access to this company that is so secretive and tight on their music and their music can only be heard by music supervisors working in the trailer editing biz. So you see what I'm saying?! I shouldn't have to explain further. Thanks for reading.

HeyYOU2011-07-29 00:03:53
*"Eclipsed Heart" is a track from the PRIEST original score!

Lol, thats a crock, I got Immediate Music CDs years ago and its quite easy to listen to previews of the tracks. And yes, Immediate Music have done soundalikes - they have one track that sounds just like Prologue from Williams's Hook score!

HeyYOU2011-07-29 02:50:21
Trailer Beast is different you moron, fans/non music supervisors cant listen or preview that album. and you fail to see my point i see.

Dakota2011-07-17 14:51:27
Stuff like this happens all the time. I wouldn't say that "It's Our Fight" is a rip-off of "Mind Heist", but definitely inspiration for it

/&/2011-07-17 16:27:52
Zack Hemsey is not a Good Composer! Steve Jablonsky is so much better! In All Musik you hear a Rip-off!

/&/2011-07-17 16:28:40
Hört endlich auf mit eueren Musikstehlen quatsch. Instrumente haben nunmal einen Sound und diesen kann man nur mit Synth ändern ist doch logisch.

kaka2011-07-17 17:18:27
not to be pro anybody, but that inception-blast note that Hemsey did was not only taken by Zimmer for Inception, but that blast was already created by Jablonsky when he did the first transformers back in 07 - only he used a bass guitar I think, and not a crashing synth...

kaka2011-07-17 18:28:42
One last thing -

I honestly feel bad for Hemsey in the end. The reason is he's the little guy in this mess. You can look at it however you want since we'll never know the truth, but right wrong or indifferent Zimmer and Jablonsky got the idea/inspiration off Hemsey's tune and wound up emulating it to a greater or lesser degree to fit their films. While i admit it does sound better on Remote Control's End, at the very least credit should have been given, or hell give the guy a job!

From Filmtracks:

"The composer has assured fans, however, that the lossless CD version will eventually be made available, and there have even been hints from other sources that some kind of expanded, perhaps limited special edition with even more music from this score (or all three in the franchise) will follow."

Has he been reading the comments posted here lol? Thats just speculation on our behalf!

Dakota2011-07-16 05:31:49
I hope he reads the coments here! It would be nice if he knows how much we long for all of his music. And what's the source of these "hints"?

Takehiro2011-07-16 05:41:57
You completely misunderstood me. I am simply saying that it appears as though the reviewer has picked up on comments posted here about expanded scores, but his review makes it sound so official lol.

kaka2011-07-16 16:23:18
Sounds like a bunch of meandering twaddle to me...No Wonder I stopped reading Filmtracks reviews.

kaka2011-07-16 16:39:40
On a side note, while I do understand Filmtrack's bias towards more classic symphonic scores over the electronica/rock fare which has become more prominent in film scoring these days, I don't see why they have to spout so much hate on Remote Control composers.

Sure, Zimmer was the first to create a business organization out of his composition style, and its apparently working because Hollywood wants his business. It's economical. But by no means is it terrible...What Filmtracks fails to understand is the evolution of the musical instrument as a more efficient tool. In the future, musical instruments will probably become collectors items as computers faithfully generate the exact sound and pitch to where they are no longer needed...

Themes for the Expanded Score.

TF3 Expanded Score is clearly demanded if i read posts here. Hope Steve and his team will work on that.
Suggest to list here missed themes from TF3 not included in the Score. Perhaps it helps the release.
The list from my side:
1. The theme when Optimus flies in the city and kills the Driller
2. The theme when Bumblebee meets Sam at the NEST base ("That's my car")
3. The theme right after "No Prisoners, only Trophies" when Bumblebee fights and kills Soundwave.

Dakota2011-07-10 22:15:13
The theme that's Linkin Park's "Iridescent" mixed with the score. On Revenge of the Fallen we got "NEST" which was mixed with "New Divide". I really like how Steve incorporated Iridescent into dark of the Moon.

zach2011-07-11 01:51:52
3. The theme right after "No Prisoners, only Trophies" when Bumblebee fights and kills Soundwave.

that is a mix of Bumblebee from the 1st TF... it has heavy drums on it in TF3. :)

Buddy2011-07-09 20:46:26
Cool score , I was just disappointed to not find on the CD the impressive chorus track that plays when we see Chicago under fire with the huge decepticons ships firing missles and lasers on the buildings.

RuthlessGravity2011-07-09 21:40:41
Yeah I assume this one would need an expanded score if ever.

Daniil2011-07-09 22:00:50
Fully agree with you. Even despite of the coolest Prime theme from TF2, which is used in TF3 by the way.
Suggest to vote for the best themes from TF3. If i look in the number of plays in my iTunes the most frequently played:
-Our Final Hope
-I Promise
-Sentinel Prime
What about your favorites from TF3 score?

A_FAN2011-07-10 00:16:55
My top three would be:
1. Our Final Hope
2. The Fight Will Be Your Own
3. Battle

... however below four just missed my number three by a teeny tiny fraction...
- Sentinel Prime
- Lost Signal
- I Promise
- There Is No Plan

Dakota2011-07-10 02:40:10

The cue playing when all the ships are attacking Chicage is just "Heed Our Warning", re-used from Revenge of the Fallen.

My most played track is "The Fight Will Be Your Own" and then "No Prisoners, Only Trophies"

MacDawson2011-07-10 13:05:05
"Heed Our Warning" was in the RoTF CD but was not used in the movie (or barely, as to make it unrecognizable).

Favorite tracks:
1- It's our fight/I'm just the messenger (come on, they're basicaly a single 10 minute suite with everything thrown in there...i think i even heard the kitchen sink in the background XD)
2- Sentinel Prime (wich i believe is the main theme in DotM)
3-Most of the freakin' CD, there's so much good stuff... except for "Impress me" wich is IMO the weakest, the rest is gold...

I believe that the first score was without a doubt the best overall, it's filled with great themes and served as a base for the other 2. It also benefits from being the only one to have been leaked in its full form.
I think that RoTF has a lot of good music, with awesome comebacks from TF, Prime is a beautiful theme and i think that it's so hill regarded because so little was released.
DotM's score is longer and it is a better, grander and darker score (in a good way). The new themes (Sentinel and Glorious (the part playing when Optimus plow down the street in "It's our fight") especially) are awesome the callbacks to the original continue to be effective.
I trully believe that if you look at the 3 scores as a single work, it is a beautiful, rich and cohesive musical tapestry. Hopefully, though i'm no longer holding my breath, the full scores will be released and we'll be able to fully enjoy the wonderful work of Steve Jablonsky and co.

MacDawson2011-07-10 13:22:54
I does have the same type of sound but it's not exactly the same. It will erupt the RCP hate groups discussions about how all their scores sound the same. I don't think they do but as far as i'm concerned if something sounds the same as something awesome, that's good in my book.

Strangely there's a mixed feeling... This CD is absolutely awesome, but it's a striking reality that we are not going to hear TF+SJ again... Is it possible that SJ could release an additional album for all of the trilogy TF? Thank you, Steve!

T-Mann0362011-07-04 07:04:47
There is a very strong possibility that Steve will release a special edition of the Transformers film series (trilogy?) sometime later this year!!!!!!!!

SJ Fan2011-07-08 00:08:33
And where did you hear that at T-Mann? Or is it just wishful thinking? If it makes you sleep better at night, keep living the dream dude.

T-Mann0362011-07-08 03:32:21
Read Steve's letter to Chris from D A R T H.

Dakota2011-07-08 04:46:28
Actually, it was me who found the letter and posted it here. He mentions maybe releasing an autographed copy. "A lot of discussion went into this, but the decision was made to wait on the physical CD, and release some kind of special edition alongside the blu-ray release (maybe autographed copies or other goodies, we don't know yet)." There's the proof that the *MAY* do autographed copies. But it is true that we know nothing yet. Time will tell. Have patience, guys. All good things come to those who wait.

From :

Hi Chris

" Nice to hear from you. As you probably know the score is now up on iTunes. The physical CD situation has been more complicated. I finished the album weeks ago, but we didn't actually finalize it until a few days ago. Michael Bay is really happy with the score and he wanted to check out the album before it went out. As you might imagine, he's a busy dude. He's been flying all over the world promoting TF3, making it difficult to get approval. But I was happy that he wanted to be a part of the soundtrack and I did not want to release anything before he had his say. The record company tells me they need 4-6 weeks to get the album produced and into stores, which would put us into August at this point. A lot of discussion went into this, but the decision was made to wait on the physical CD, and release some kind of special edition alongside the blu-ray release (maybe autographed copies or other goodies, we don't know yet).

I know people are probably disappointed. Believe me I wish I could get physical CD's out there tomorrow. But it's just the way things went this time around. I can see why Paramount would rather not release a score CD almost 2 months after the movie release. To them it makes more sense to do something special around the blu-ray/DVD. I understand that.

So anyone interested in a CD should rest assured that it WILL happen. It just won't happen until later in the year unfortunately.

These big movies are so complex sometimes!! I hope you've been well! "

Steve (Jablonsky)

Takehiro2011-07-03 22:44:36
A special edition? Does this mean perhaps an expanded version?

T-Mann0362011-07-03 23:29:00
My apologies for getting a nosebleed but... WOW!!!!!! If Steve is planning to do an expanded TF3 score, I'm gonna add that on my Most Wanted list immediately.

D A R T H2011-07-04 09:09:31
sadly, i think it's not an expanded version, but as usually a version with "goodies" like digital card or multimedia parts... :-[

Manteegroo2011-07-04 12:45:51
It would be nice if that special edition CD was an 80 minutes of unreleased material from all 3 TF movies.

Takehiro2011-07-04 19:14:42
What makes you think that, DARTH?

T-Mann0362011-07-05 03:02:53
I personally don't think the "goodies" or "digital card" are good enough, D A R T H. I think Steve WILL do the expanded scores for the Transformers pictures. Fans truly demand they want more scores that weren't in the official soundtrack LPs. And I'm sure he'll give us the final answer before the end of 2011.

Dakota2011-07-05 06:09:41
OMM....HELLO?! Did no one read that he may AUTOGRAPH copies? If there won't be an expanded release, then an Autographed copy would absolutely most certainly sit well with me! Does anyone have the Michael Bay Autographed copy of Revenge of the Fallen? I do. It's like gold to me. I would think that any of you guys who are fans of Jablonsky would die to have an autographed copy. I'm hoping that's what we get. Maybe on Bay's official site come mid-late September there will be pre-orders for autographed Blu-rays and Scores. I would die....

T-Mann0362011-07-07 22:09:09
When the picture is released on DVD and Blu-Ray, I'm sure that Steve won't disappoint us with more film scores from the TF trilogy. I won't be disappointed and will look forward to Steve's surprise.

Jasper reply Replies: 17 || 2011-06-30 16:28:07
Seriously, I'm a bit through with this type of generic action music. It's not bad by any means, but it's the same kind of melodies and rhythms we've been hearing for years now. And when I see this shamelessly copying The Last Samurai (in the Sentinel Prime), it even makes it worse.

Trent Easton Navarro2011-06-30 19:06:10
I hadn't noticed that until you mentioned it, but Sentinel Prime indeed sounds very similar to The Last Samurai. And I liked It's Our Fight better when it was called Mind Heist and composed by Zack Hemsey.

It's an enjoyable listen, but I'm kinda tired of these type of scores as well

Jasper2011-07-02 15:31:46
Oh my god, I haven't even noticed that. How didn't I notice that? They're not even trying to come up with new stuff anymore.

Kaka2011-07-02 16:17:36
Well, You cant really call it outright plagiarism, can you?

IHonestly I would say its appalling etc, but but its not like this hasnt happened before and really, in the scope of things, i honestly dont give a shit.

HZgui2011-07-03 04:45:12
Well it's all clear now, Steve Jablonsky "stole" a lot of cues from Hans' work. First, I feel like Jablonsky made something great... but it sounds too "Dark knight-Inception" style (that's what I thought during watching the movie in Imax3D). But now that I hear the score I believe that Jablonsky's work is totally non-original! Ok he has made great cues for the movie but they are few. Transformers score was better! Otherwise, score sticks to the movie nothing more.

Dark Knight rules! Inception rules! don't try to copy those TOP level score it's impossible! (and Zimmer's work generally) (talking about some particular cues and the general mood)

Bumblebee and my name is lincoln are the best from Jablonsky so far...

SJ2011-07-03 05:24:14
You gotta understand that Steve Jablonsky is apart of Remote Control WITH Hans Zimmer! So chances are, he and other composers there provided some sort of additional work on the score, not just Jablonsky himself.

Per2011-07-03 10:12:49
"... but it sounds too "Dark knight-Inception" style"

That's what I thought too, at least in parts ... and also too trailer/library music - like. At least that was my first impression, but after I've listened a bit more to it, it's not that bad...

"Dark Knight rules! Inception rules!"

Most certainly not. Not for me anyway. Transformers 3 does have some of those annoying Dark Knight / Inception "moments", but I find Transformers 3 much more listenable than the recent stuff from Zimmer himself. It's fine that Zimmer experiment and try new approaches etc, but I wished he wouldn't go completely away from his "trademark"- style.

HZgui2011-07-03 14:12:02

I agree, the work Hans has made with Rodrigo y Gabriela is not that good that's a fact. But, The Dark Knight is one of the best thing he has done, and Inception too. Ok sometimes it's annoying/boring (leave POTC). Watch the world burn or the dark knight or Why so serious or like a dog chasing cars, dream is collapsing, mombasa, radical notion, paradox, time and the two additional tracks are true master piece in Zimmer's carrier. In Jablonsky score for T3 there is no main theme, nothing to remember, no nothing. I find it very empty. Ok it's not too dark-knight/inception style but there's a trademark, Zimmer's signature all the way (from darkknight-inception). they maybe work together at RC but there's no reason Jablonsky copy another man's work like that wether it's Zimmer or Hemsey. HE puts samples everywhere and that's a big problem for me.

T1, T2, T3= T1 best score of the franchise.

that's bad :(

Evenstar2011-07-03 14:27:54
hmm... i can remember a lot of themes.

Vishagh2011-07-03 19:05:22
Honestly i am a bit disappointed with the score released. May be b'coz i was expecting to hear more variations to the main theme. Just 2 or 3 tracks that i felt good. rest were typical Hans style... I hope they will release an extended version which will have more cues from the movie.

Phil B2011-07-03 20:25:09
an expanded score would be VERY NICE :)

Noble 2011-07-03 21:09:20
You guys should stop complaining and be grateful that the score came out before the movie than after it because all I hear you guys is complain like every post you say is Steve jablonsky stole this and that. I am sick and tired of you guys complaining just shut up and be grateful. Be thankful it came out just stop complaining

Jasper2011-07-04 00:46:08
Why the hell should I be grateful. I'd be grateful if Steve actually put some time in trying to at least reach some new grounds instead of going on autopilot. I really love Steve Jablonsky, and Hans Zimmer, but I feel the entire Remote Control Productions is becoming at least somewhat of a factory that just makes music by the dozen. In the best case, you can get something like Inception or Sherlock Holmes by Zimmer, 2 scores that I really like, in the worst case you get this uninspired music. I'm not grateful for that.

stephen2011-07-04 06:58:36
hello all... good album .. but just to much sound from other composer^^
battle is a remake from requieme for a dream...but a good remake

i hope steve make a new score more personal on his next movies ..

kaka2011-07-04 17:15:23
hahah uninspiring music?

Really? Really? Just listen to some of it during a fireworks show, lemme give you some tracks that are really good (and no i dont give a crap if its "plagiarised" - what composer doesn't do this?

1: Our Final Hope - Great closing of the Autobots theme in general.
2: Sentinel Prime - Its a damn good theme, and no i dont care if its a rip off Last Samurai - I dont even recognize it from that film anyway.
3: Battle - pretty decent action suite, but to be fair I found myself humming the openining music to POTC 1, which was weird...
4: The fight Will be Your Own
5: There is No PLan
6: Lost Signal

Just these six alone are worth it. Youll notice I didnt include the "Zack Hemsey ripoff" track. I would have, and should, oh wait nevermind - Thatll be number 7 because it goes really well with

Robert2011-07-04 22:28:55
Totally agree with kaka.
All his mentioned tracks are really amazing, along with "No Prisoners, Only Trophies" especially if you have in mind that scene from the movie where it was played.
Even if they sound similar to other tracks, so what ... they are still awesome and emotionally charged tracks.
Give some respect to this amazing composer!

JBourne2011-07-05 00:49:37
I Agree with Kaka .. and Why is everyone talking about it's our fight like that anyway .. i mean yea he's obviously influenced by mind heist but it's not like no one does that ..
I distinctly remember "Enemy at the Gates" theme By James Horner and how it Was A Duplicate of John Williams's "Schindler's List" .. So i guess Its really not that bad to copy another's work if it's well utilized & upgraded ..

stephen2011-07-07 17:54:44
it s a good album ... i already say that ... & i never say it s a plagia... just little more same sound^^... all the zimmer team can make alway the same music i will listening them during all my life^^ only tf3 is less personal album than tf 1 &2 ( for me) but i listen it untill 4 days in repeat so is very good^^
