For those of you disappointed in this score...remember...This is Bad Boys 3 lol....Have you heard Bad Boys 1+2? Cmon now...relax and take it for what it isI'd be surprised if we don't see some Wallfisch scores this year. He has been so prolific lately, would be weird to suddenly go an entire year without a single assignment.CD coming from LLL!Really liked this score, and the movie wasn't as bad as people claim as well... Benjamin Wallfisch does some very nice stuff, his horror scores are always on point like It 1 & 2, Annabelle: Creation, A Cure for Wellness...

I know he's gonna deliver it with Mortal Kombat even if the movie isn't that good. But kind of a bummer that his next scheduled project comes out in 2021 LOL'Cause maybe the expected all the cues from the sessions
I like this music!The #balfeness !!!! Has outdone himself on Bad Boys for Life.
A nod to the last but brought it up to date.
This and 6 Underground has blown me away with Balfe’s musici can't understand, when someone is saying "it REMINDS of mw2" when those mentioned cues are completely re-used 1:1. it's identical, sometimes layered with mancinas themes. it doesn't just remind you of mw2 when lorne seriously uses the identical tracks or parts from mw2 -_-

@bayhem: then listen to it. i'm not a fan of lorne, but his work there is real fun and some real good action cues. with the themes of Zimmer, it's crazy that it's just a game. one of or maybe THE best work of lorne!Colleague of mine (a film score fan too) asked me which new Balfe score is better in my opinion - Bad Boys for Life or 6 Underground?

Honestly - and as much as I praised BB3 - I couldn't decide......

Both movies have a lot of songs, which is something I don't like. Look at Transformers. There are songs too but they don't overshadow the score. The score is still the star and that's why people flood Steve's Twitter with praise. Day after day.

But sadly for Lorne, his recent work in film WAS indeed overshadowed by the random songs. If they didn't rely on songs so much, I'm sure that 6 Underground would've been the crown jewel for Lorne. It's a big, big movie that begs for equally big and memorable score (though we can't really expect Transformners-syze score).

At the end of the day, Lorne did good on 6 Underground but it was just a small sign of what COULD have been.....Some of the action bits, yeah......
This right here is my single biggest issue with Balfe as a composer. And with the recording sessions clips he posts it is truly a mystery. Tinfoil hat on I'd say he skimps on the budget and hires those musicians just for a couple hours to shoot those clips for PR and the actual score is all synth but that's a baseless claim of course lol...
....................

It's bigger than that.....

After all, this is a Bruckheimer production. His movies established Hans and the entire MV/RC sound. His movies are known for their awesome scores. Scores that are populrar with the ordinary viewers as well. But 2008 onward, things changed.....Back in the 90's and early 2000's every single Bruckheimer film had a spectacular score. Powerful, melodic themes, cues that stayed with you, scores that attracted the attention of the average Joe.

Nowadays tho, we don't have that. Hell, when was the last time a (newer) action score from MV/RC-related composer was praised the way 'The Rock' was praised?

Lorne's Mission Impossible? No. Not even close.

Personally, I like what Lorne did with BB3, especially with the emotional cues. But put it next to Mancina's work. I mean it's not even a contest. The Mancina score is one memorable, melodic track after another. There's not a single boring track. Every track is a banger.

But the newer scores? They have two or three tracks that are good and everything else is.......utterly forgettable.

I blame it on the lack of themes. Orchestra or not, more scores need to have actual themes.Some cues sound like Speed 2Guess I'm the only person around here who hasn't listened to the Modern Warfare 2 score. So I can't really have an opinion on this matter..... lolThis right here is my single biggest issue with Balfe as a composer. And with the recording sessions clips he posts it is truly a mystery. Tinfoil hat on I'd say he skimps on the budget and hires those musicians just for a couple hours to shoot those clips for PR and the actual score is all synth but that's a baseless claim of course lol...Everyone keep mentionning mw2 but those drums reminded me of...skylanders giants lol! Just listen to the track « Arena battle » and let me know
The clips are on his Facebook page.2/5 stars? Why are people hating on this?Me tooExcited!!!God’s gun theme reminds me of part of “River Mission” from Battlefield 2: Modern Combat OST. I think Lorne was an additional composer on that score aswell (excellent OST btw)

@Karloff
Good point you've made there ;) . The score is going to be released when ever, but i am just wondering about exactly when that will be. And yeah, their getting mad for nothing, lol. Just because i am wondering about when it will be released, does not mean they have to get all bent out shape about it, for crying out loud !

Michael reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-13 00:00:00
Would be nice if it was the end of this week or the beginning of next, around the 17th. About a month before the official release of the soundtrack.

@jake
I hope they will come out on here soon. I'm wondering about that same thing, about when the sound clips of the songs on the Pirates 4 soundtrack will be released and when the titles of each of the songs on the Pirates 4 soundtrack will be released on here as well.

jake reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-13 00:00:00
is the sound clip's coming out soon

Sean, that's 12 times you've posted here about the tracklisting. Jeez.

Nice Cover!! haha, this gonna be magic *__*

Sean reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-13 00:00:00
Well sorry, but you know what ? , it would be nice if the soundtracks tracklist was released on here already ! They need to put the tracklist from the soundtrack on here already ! How much longer are they going to end up waiting to release it ? Someone on here said a while back ago that the soundtracks tracklist, was was going to be added on this webpage here sometime in april 2011 "this month", and now it's time for them to do that already, so where is it already ?

Sean reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-13 00:00:00
@Siato
Alright look, i'm not trying to annoy anyone on here, even if i am annoying anyone on here or not. I just would like to know what the titles of each of the songs are on the Pirates 4 soundtrack, that's all am wondering about, and i understand and realize the titles of the songs are not out yet. If i were to get banned, then that just goes to show how easily bothered people get by other people on here, and it will make the person or people who have the power to ban people on here not look good because of them doing that, so that's not my problem, that's really their problem ;) . Also, what you mentioned about the Inception soundtrack tracklisting, Pirates 4 and Inception are two different movies, so it's highly unlikely that Pirates 4 's soundtrack tracklisting would be released around or even at the amount of time that Inceptions soundtrack tracklisting came out. Inception and Pirates 4 are not coming out at the same time during this year and last year, meaning their theatrical release dates.

Franko reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-13 00:00:00
Dude...Will you relax? The tracklisting will be on here at some point Im sure...and if not, you never know - it might turn up in some other site that you have to dig for....Maybe you should try that in the meantime to keep yourself busy while we all wait? Maybe you'll find something before we do.

Sean reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-13 00:00:00
@Franko
I've already looked on other websites for it, and i have not found anything regarding this soundtracks tracklisting !

Siato reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-13 00:00:00
@ Sean:
be patient, I was obsessing over the same thing with inception... it was worth the wait & it came in record time, try not to annoy other people, then who knows, you might get banned from this great resource site about our favorite composer, hans >.<

I MAY have found a part of the new score! This feauturette has obvious Pirates of the Caribbean music, but I haven't heard it from the other movies. The He's a Pirate music part that follows it is quite different from the trailer, so maybe that is the official He's a Pirate version of OST. Check it out and let me know what you think!

And yes, the very last part is just trailer music. But everything before that could very well be from the new score!

@Michael
I have a theory that could be music from jack's london escape... just sounds like something you'd play while jumping out a window o.O

@Cobb
The soundtrack cover for Pirates 4 that's just recently been revealed is better then nothing ;) . I think it looks just fine, and it's nice to have a soundtrack track with a cover that looks like a teaser poster, rather then a poster with everyones faces from the movie on it for a change :) . I Can't wait see what Pirates 4's soundtrack tracklisting is soon, i hope it will be released on here soon because the titles of each song on the soundtrack, basically tells us what to expect to see in the movie, or at least it "kind of" does.

cover now on the homepage ^^

Cobb reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-08 00:00:00
Yes, I too am disappointed with the cover, wish they'd make it much cooler, rather then look like the cover of the 4th disk of the pirates treasures edition (remixes and whatnot) but if it turns out to be han's best pirates music, then its something I'm willing to accept.

Cobb reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-08 00:00:00
@ Jack hmmm... sounds like a part of at world's end, perhaps the fountain theme... then theres the fight theme, might be used on the ship or even during the london scene... then there's... whistleig? Hmmm.... wonder what zimmer has for us in store this time!

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-08 00:00:00
uh oh. for some reason im getting a vibe from the cover that this might be another one of Disney Record's famous half-assed 8-track score releases or something. i hope im wrong

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2011-04-08 00:00:00
i don't care how many tracks there are as long as it's at least 50 minutes
