Just saw the trailer...…

Not exactly an epic movie but I'm still quite excited for Steve's music. Deepwater Horizon contained some pretty cool cues so I'm definitely in for another Berg/Jablonsky collaboration.I’m assuming the first track is the end credits sequence? Lorne confirmed the end credits are included... and they are awesome.The score is getting release by Paramount Music, in other words, digital and same day as the movie opens (31th January)Any news on if we get an album for The Rhythm Section?I wish to see you in concert in Poland it is so close to Germany and i think that you have many fans heere :)

@Evenstar maybe just to make a difference from maybe cues with rap or another kind of music that serves as additional score for the movie. For example Bad Boys 2 has Trevor Rabin and many composers as additional music but that's the composer music. Dr. Dre. write additional music but that was rap remixes. So, that's why i think the take movie picture score instead motion picture score.Yep, i think it was in the movie 2 times, first the motorcycle chase scene, second the action scene in the endDamn I knew I heard some MW2 in the score! Glad I'm not alone. :DWell, not that new... aka 'Wonderland'New assigment for Jab: Spenser Confidential with Peter Berg
I wonder if the Modern Warfare 2 favela music which was in the movie, that will be on the album or not.@ MrZimmerFan

Yes, same thing with 6 UNDERGROUND. There were a lot of songs as well. Now we know why Lorne had the time to do all of those big movies in such a short period of time. lol.

Now if this was Transformers, it would've been a whole different story.....I want! I want!In a movie where there is a lot of pop songs -26 songs to be exact- isn't a surprise a little score from the composer, perhaps, Balfe select the best cues for the album.Indeed it is very sad...

WHEN?!?!?

He made AWESOME work at the MW2 Soundtrack so I have HUGE expectations with this one.
I recently saw "The Dilemma" and the Soundtrack was the style what all people know from Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe.

Keep up with the good work!!

"Contrary to earlier reports, the developer diary confirms that the majority of the music for Crysis 2 was composed by Borislav Slavov (aka Bobby Glorian) and Tilman Sillescu. After they both applied to score the game, Crytek's senior audio director Campbell Askew asked to work together to achieve a versatile and high quality score. The pair communicated on almost a daily basis to brainstorm and develop ideas, in what Slavov describes as a very enjoyable and revealing process."

Who composed these 42 tracks??

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-17 00:00:00
"On Crysis 2, Zimmer determined the overall musical direction and produced a range of major themes. However, it has been reported that his employee Lorne Balfe of Remote Control Productions handled much of the rest of the music. This production approach echoes that of Zimmer's video game debut, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. In addition, Zimmer worked closely with the team at Crytek to optimise the score. Notably, British musician Graeme Norgate of GoldenEye and TimeSplitters fame is the audio director for the title, having become part of Crytek after they bought Free Radical Design. It appears that the original composer of Crysis, Inon Zur, was not involved with the sequel."

Robert reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-16 00:00:00
I hate do disapoint you guys, but this info here is incorrect / incomplete..

I heard from a reliable source that Hans Zimmer actualy did only the Main theme of the score and Lorn did the Epilogue. Rest of it was composed by other composers...

Hybrid Soldier reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-16 00:00:00
Hey guys stop putting that bootleg track in here !! It's a game rip !

And Robert, I've got reliable sources too ! ;)

Prott reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-16 00:00:00
Robert: There are quite a few other tracks that sounds like Hans Zimmer`s work (Morituri for example) + I think it`s safe to say that when you hear RCP samples, it`s from RCP (The End of Beginning, etc.). :-)

On the other hand - there are tracks which does sound different.

Hybrid Soldier reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-16 00:00:00
I did ask Lorne if EA brought some of its insiders in... He just told me to wait for the OST credits cause it's a bit "complicated" !! :P

name of song in the Crysis 2 trailer pls

Hybrid Soldier reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-16 00:00:00
Feared, what I heard so far sounded a lot like Lorne Balfe... ;)

Brad reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-16 00:00:00
@Feared: You shouldn't be ashamed because I have that same 42-track rip. However, I have to strongly disagree with you about the sound of the score. It is very RCP and is actually a very good score. After Modern Warfare 2 I though Zimmer could never top himself in the videogame genre, but here Zimmer may have. While there isn't an exact theme you will go away humming, the scale and scope of the score is absolutely epic and the orchestrations are really well done. I listened to the nearly hour and half score all the way through last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Hans Zimmer is truly one of the most versatile composers ever.

Feared reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-16 00:00:00
Why should i be shamed?
Yes I listened to that rip, and if it"s fromt he game, than it's the OFFICIAL score.
When the LLL edition will be out I'll buy it for sure, but it does not sound anything RCP to me.

Tim reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-16 00:00:00
@Feared
how do you know? it's not released, yet. did you listen to a rip of the game's leaked beta version?? if that's true shame on you!!

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-16 00:00:00
All what i want to know is who composed these 42 tracks, Hans Zimmer & Lorne Balfe or not??????????????

Feared reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-16 00:00:00
I'm a fan of Zimmer since '95, I have like 50 albums from him, and I didn't find any similarities with this score and his other workds. Hey even MW2 had 'that' Zimmer sound even if he only composed the main themes.
Crysis 2 has 1 or 2 cues that sound near Zimmer, but 90% of it could be anyone outside RCP.
Nice score though. :)

yes the first three tracks are good, but the rest... meh! :(

Ele reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-15 00:00:00
Well, I will still tag it as Lorne Balfe only, the same as MW2, considering that he did majority of the score.

Gatterboy reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-15 00:00:00
As far as I know, Zimmer and Balfe did only a few tracks for the game, the rest was composed by internal Crytek composers.

Hybrid Soldier reply Replies: 0 || 2011-02-15 00:00:00
Wait & see about that, Lorne didn't tell me anything about the team involved ! Just told me they had an orchestra for it ! haha ;)
