He said in a recent interview that the score exists “full tracks”. Who knows how much of it was ready considering he probably left the project before the cut was finalized - so probably nothing was recorded. But knowing how Tom likes to do things and judging by his studio time videos, he can do amazing things with samples. And if it contains lots of sound design then it wouldn’t be far from the final product.I wish !<br><br>I have zero info, just following what's happening on social networks like everybody else...<br><br>If you asked me last week about it, I'd have told you "Sure, it will happen... in 20 years maybe, but it will happen..."<br><br>Now it seems it might be sooner than that... :)@Hybrid, do you think the SnyderCut will release soon?<br>I won't go further cause it's not exactly the place, but I won't say you're wrong either... :PHybrid, any insight into why Tyler was fired from Age of Ultron? I’ve always wondered but have never seen an actual reason. I’ve heard he violated his contract to work on Furious 7 or something?<br><br>Just was curious because he still takes full credit for that score, and the more I see of him the more annoyed I get with his arrogant attitude. The dude thinks he’s the greatest thing to ever happen to film scores.
Me too. The deluxe edition was quite underwhelming. Would love to get the entire Sicily sequence.Really gutted that the FYC is out but it's missing the one moment from the score I really wanted, the statement of the Alpha theme from HTTYD2. Wonder why Powell and his crew seem to be going out of their way to prevent that from being heard...something about pre-existing material, maybe? But why just that theme and not the dozens of others? Weird. If you ask me, that "personal tragedy" for Snyder, though real, was just an excuse for them to fire him. It was convenient for Warner. They saw his film and they probably got scared it was impossible to sell, too long, too much BvS, too much this, too much that... This irony is now they made a billion with the darkest DC movie ever... Nice call WB... The minute Whedon & Elfman were "in", you understood this film was not Zack Snyder's anymore. This film is so terrible, I rewatched it lately, you can feel pretty much 80% of it is Whedon reshoots (just look for actors that look nothing like themselves when they shot the initial film, "New Haircut" Amy Adams, "Bottox" Batfleck, "Mustache" Cavill... And you can see from miles away how they all act like they don't care, that they hated every minute of reshooting it. I'm really sad Geoff Zanelli had to participate into this travesty, but I hope he got a huge paycheck for the pain ! lol Especially since Geoff was at the very beginning of the DCEU since he started working on ideas with Hans on Man Of Steel, before he left early to handle The Lone Ranger...<br><br>#ReleaseTheSnyderCut<br><br>Oh and btw Brian Tyler was fired from Avengers 2. And not because of the music he was writing. Whedon brought Elfman at the last minute, first he was "additional music", then "co-composer", if he had, say, one more month, he would have replaced the entirety of Tyler's score... He just didn't get enough time to do that...I definitely agree with your last sentence. I really like seeing the RCP composers going back to orchestral splendor and melody. Shame Jablonsky's been MIA because of his family. I would have loved to see him come back with the orchestral, melodic voice that Balfe and Tom have had lately.cool!
Whedon has his particular tastes which are guaranteed to be more sensible than 'Anonymous' below. This was a case where Snyder was facing an uphill struggle and a personal tragedy. He left the project. Josh came on board and he does not think highly of the RCP school, as anyone with a sensible ear will do. So he hired Elfman who did Age of Ultron for him after Tyler copy-pasted himself too much. It's ironic that fanboys here lambast Elfman for not being Zimmer enough in scope while Tyler does whatever he does, sounding EXACTLY the same on all projects. <br><br>But it's also heartening to see that all of the good RCP composers like Jackman, Junk, Balfe are now going for scores that sound a lot like 1990s or 2000s - Silvestri (Jumanji), Jones (Alita), or Shore (Dark Materials), respectively.Did Holkenborg finish his score and have time to record it? Is there an actual score? It seems to me he got jettisoned early in the process when Whedon came on board. It would be surprising if he had time to record an actual score with players and an orchestra.I can't decide whether or not some of the things I want to hear from him should be in his new show or a new World of Hans Zimmer show.@Ds Omar is saying that this was the direction Tom went with / what the score sounded like not that he was fired because he didn’t deliver the sound he’s known for :) <br>Of course he was replaced after Snyder left the project. <br><br>And yeah citation is needed.Desperately hoping we'll hear something from Dune. He's said himself how excited he is to finally work on music for a Dune movie and turned down Nolan for it, and it will be out a few months before these shows begin.
The FYC came out for this. Unfortunately, it's missing two entire tracks from the film. An extended "Busy, Busy Berk", and the film version of "Furies Captured" (which at least had a YouTube upload of the alternate version). <br><br>Guess we'll have to hope for a complete/recording sessions leak for everything else. Will he come to Sthlm / Gothenburg sweden???https://www. axs.com/why-we-need-a-chicago-med-soundtrack-album-in-our-li ves-112620<br><br>Why they never release this?!....Omar: Well tried, but Junkie XL was replaced after Snyder was fired and Whedon came in.<br>And just in case Snyder actually wanted another sound, he would just have told Junkie at the beginning instead of firing him after he departed himself :-pCitation needed

Welcome to dirt reminds of the start of a pop song by I think a female vocalist. Any ideas?

8 additional composers! Busy score!

Mike2013-07-17 00:16:40
If I'm not mistaken, the reason there's so many is because Verbinski made some decision that involved the need for the score to be reworked, almost from scratch, in a short time.

It seems Hans likes to take exisiting pieces of music and mixes them instead of writing new music.
Also the main theme is just another version of Jack Sparrow's theme.
I think his last REALLY good score was King Arthur.

Evenstar2013-01-24 21:55:59
lol... king arthur? really?

The new "Lone Ranger" trailer states: "MUSIC BY HANS ZIMMER" !!!

I thought it was scored by Jack White, but this is AWESOME news!

Macejko2012-12-11 13:08:03
It's a proof that justice exists!

Tim2012-12-11 17:37:51
Yay! Before Hans Jack White was on the notes - at least that's what imbd said at that time ;)

Vordmira2012-12-12 00:19:10
Jack White might sing a theme song for the film which is co-written by Hans Zimmer

Mike2012-12-12 00:28:21
Speaking of films Hans Zimmer will score, did anyone see the newest trailer for Man of Steel? The music sounded very Gladiator-ish, but I don't know if that's what it was.

Mr. Charles2012-12-12 01:49:22
I hear it, Mike. It almost sounds like an alternate version of "Elysium". It's not quite what we hear on the OST. If it's not Gladiator, it's definitely Lisa Gerrard. Without a doubt

Zantlwisder2012-12-12 03:31:10
It's Lisa Gerrard's "Elegy"

tomPoland2012-12-12 13:50:15
it's terrible news - hz is making MoS, he shouldn't involve in something else
no minions, co-writers, and so on - pure Zimmer please, its THE SUPERMAN, no some B class movie

Ds2012-12-12 13:56:59
I think the music we hear in the beginning of the MoS trailer is the same track we heard in Zack Snyder's movie "Legend of the Guardians". Kind of a remix of the Lisa Gerrard song from "Man on Fire".

Ds2012-12-12 14:38:18
No sorry i was wrong, this is definitely "Elegy" by Lisa Gerrard. Sorry!

blu2012-12-12 15:17:39
I am pretty sure master Z can handle this whilst giving MoS the best he can. These guys have never failed to deliver under tight deadlines before.

tomPoland2012-12-12 15:42:06
that's the point - there is no tight deadlines! he has like 7 months to create something memorable, epic, climatic; with orchestra, choir and all that goosebump stuff

taking another project will make MoS worse that it could be, i fear

Hybrid Soldier2012-12-12 15:58:34
You speak like Hans is just starting working on MOS.

You think he was sleeping in the last 5 months ? ;)

Pierre2012-12-12 17:39:06
He's currently recording Man of Steel. That means it's written. Loads of time to work on the Lone Ranger.

Jasper2012-12-12 18:16:46
I honestly think that the coming year is going to be the most exciting Hans Zimmer year in a long time. As far as I know, he'll be doing the soundtracks for 3 major films next year, none of them sequels. All new themes, all new music. Looking forward to an amazing 2013. If the world doesn't end, that is :p

Mike2012-12-12 22:13:12
I'm excited for the same reason, Jasper, but we shouldn't get our hopes too high. Maybe he'll be rushed and we'll have another Curse of the Black Pearl that takes cues from his other movies.

In all seriousness though, I'm really excited. Especially for Man of Steel.

Ds2012-12-12 22:21:48
Man of Steel & Lone Ranger scores will certainly be great, but i think Lone Ranger is more the kind of movie that needs a true fantastic and epic score - the kind of movie for which Hans is the best.

Joshua2012-12-12 22:24:37
Score for Man Of Steel records in mid January. He'll have 5-6 months to work on Lone Ranger.

Mike2012-12-12 22:35:34

Thank you

Jiri W Krecek2011-09-09 05:47:06
THe flying bat song is Ride of the Valkyries by Richard Wagner

S2012-01-01 03:26:32
But the 2.15 bit is actually from 'An der schönen blauen Donau Waltz' composed by Johann Strauss II

It's not by EitS but by Danny Elfman, taken from his score of The Kingdom

Norm reply Replies: 1 || 2011-03-14 00:00:00
@ Bast

The song when Rango walks out in the desert isn't by Zimmer. It's Danny Elfmans song "Finale" from the Movie "The Kingdom" - don't know why they used this one...wasn't Zimmer able to compose a better track?

That little track if i think its the same as what you mean, is kind of a steller reprise of the Rango theme:

The OSt version cuts that piece out and instead uses a banjo intro, while th emovie cuts right to the guitar then that piece, then the end....I found it weird. I dont know who composed it tho.

Trent Easton Navarro reply Replies: 0 || 2011-03-14 00:00:00
@ Norm

Maybe it was used in the temp track and Verbinski really liked it. I thought it fitted the scene perfectly, best piece of music in the entire film. Judging by the rest of the score it's pretty obvious Zimmer wasn't capable to compose something better.

Norm reply Replies: 0 || 2011-03-14 00:00:00
@ Trent

You're right - that track fits the scene perfectly. But if I was the composer for a movie and the director said to me: "Don't Bother - we use the work of another Composer for that scene" I would have worked my ass of the create a track a hundred times better! Just wondered why Zimmer hasn't done that.
