No other demo surfaced though.Lovely score with beautiful themes, atmospheric vocal parts and a nice orchestration.I've found this odd version of "Train Opening" that sounds like a demo. Is it legitimate? The only mention of it I've seen is on the 2nd page of the OST listing here, but it didn't tell me much. And I ain't about to check the archive of the place we can't name that died. Thanks in advance!
Oh man, I'd to love to get my hands on this version. I've searched everywhere over the years, but I guess it's just impossible...<br>One of my favorite scores ever! This is a highly underrated album. It's nothing short of a masterpiece, a modern opera. The choir is beautiful, and the choice of gospel for the first track gives it a unique identity, though I'm not sure how well it meshes with the orchestra. It feels a bit off, but will hopefully improve for me on further listens. <br><br>The composition, has to me, elevated Powell to the status of the second best living composer (Williams is still first for now). It's pure orchestral beauty and mastery with variety of texture, color, and style, with seamless tonal transitions. Sure the choir is an important element, but it really should be named "Hubris Symphony", or "Hubris: The Opera", because that's the status the album deserves. My Attempt at a chronological order with edits (feel free to correct any mistakes or if I missed anything) <br><br>1. Change Of Plan (Unused) (5:47)Rogue One is a bit of an odd one. From what I'd heard, Desplat had joined on the condition he'd be allowed to do his own thing and not ape Williams. But once they decided to overhaul the film, they pressured him to go that exact direction. Things stayed still for a while (in which he still got paid) before he was finally let go very late into production. So the idea he sorta just left is interesting, so I'm curious to hear what that was about.<br><br>For BW, it seems very likely to me that Marvel simply were unsure about Alexandre's music, so I'm guessing they hired Balfe to do some demos and decided from there. Who knows what the exact timeline is, but I'd wager it'd have to at least be this year if he's been on it a bit. Especially with AD's name having stayed on the posters during it.Hybrid, Desplat left Rogue One just for his own idea? I know he left that movie beacuse schedule conflict for the reshoots. <br>But for Black Widow seems that the replacement was since months ago with Lorne writing and recording the score at the same time

So sad..
I created a great (Dutch) ChristmasWish with MovieMaker for my friends. Because I love the movie (and soundtrack) "the Holiday" so much I used it to go with my Wish. Wanted to send it to my FBfriends, but got deleted within a few minutes.
It had nothing to do with copying, it should be seen as a compliment. Stupid Copyright.. :(

Bought tickets off worldticketshop.com for the Paris show. Can someone please put my mind at ease and assure me they are legit! I know I may be panicking for no reason but these are a Christmas present for someone very special, and a trip to Paris as well. Anyone outside of France get Paris tickets yet?

Dear mr Hans Zimmer,

After buying a ticket for your show I just drove 10 hours to be at your concert in Wroclaw.
To my surprise you weren't there. This is a bit confusing since your name is printed clearly and large on the ticket so I would expect you you to be there.

Could you please explain?

Sincere a disappointed fan.

Unfortunately not.

If you go to "unofficial" concerts it's your problem, you should have checked that before... Many orhcestras organize concerts and play music from well-known composers, it doesn't mean the composer has to be there. Most of the time I guess the composer is not even aware of this concert.

Film music makes a vivid impression on me. Just about my favourite film is Gladiator and I find the music very emotional and uplifting... particularly 'earth' and the first battle/final amphitheatre fight scene at the end. Could I raise a possible plagarism issue here ? While on a clipper ship cruise, the ships sails were raised to music that I assumed was part of Gladiator - but which I subsequently found was Vangelis soundtrack to a film Conquest of Paradise 1492. Listening to both in paralle, it is apparent as a keen musician, that both sound very similar - only difference is that Vangelis theme starts in minor key and moves to major while Gladiator starts in the major key - but the main tune sounds so similar...... but Gladiator came first. Anyone else notice this ? If so should the Vangelis version be considered as plagarism ??

billy2015-11-12 14:31:05
I think Vangelis' theme came fisrt, in 1992, while Gladiator was in 2000. They look similar indeed, but only in the beginning. In my opinion it's not a plagiarism, as the two melodies evolve differently, I would call it just an "inspiration" for Glaiator's theme, something that happens quite often, especially in film composing. Notice, also, that Vangelis has inspired Zimmer a lot ;-)

Edmund Meinerts2015-11-12 15:48:16
I think that bastard Holst stole something from Gladiator too. And don't get me started on that hack Richard Wagner. Man, Gladiator sure is a popular source of inspiration!

;)

Edmund Meinerts2015-11-13 15:08:57
Yes, I'm a troll.

Wagnerian2015-11-14 15:35:55
Zimmers music is full of plagiarisms. Listen to Crimson Tide soundtrack and then to the Sigfried theme in Wagners ring... Come on! Really?

Wagnerian2015-11-14 15:43:26
OK "Plagiarism" is too strong a word - let's call it "inspiration". Zimmers music is great but it would be even greater to acknowledge the inspirations. Howard Shore admitted to the Rheingold Leitmotifs being a great inspiration for his amazing LOTR soundtrack...

Horst Eidel

Dear Mr. Zimmer,

I just want to say 'thank you' for the incredible soundtrack to "Interstellar", especially "Dust", which lets me feel the deep space and make me thoughtful about everything. It is also a very good music for programming. I know you hear this very often and from everyone. But there is no reason why I shouldn't tell you also that you are awesome! Thanks for so many years of great music!

Dear Mr. Zimmer, My little sister is watching a TV series Called "The Hamama" which is using your pieces (Dark knight, Intersteller..), No credit is given to your name which makes me believe it is stolen.

It is hosted in Israel, The creator of the series Is Giora Hamizer, And the so called "music composer" is Tal Yardeni.

Sorry for the bad English, just wanted to let you know about the situation. It is a very popular Teen's show here.

Thanks for reading

Dear Mr. Zimmer. I recently discovered that a few songs on the magnificent Interstellar: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Album on Spotify has been removed or dissapeared for some reason. The tracks included are "First Step", "No Time For Caution", "Flying Drone" and a few others. What is going on and will they be put back in the album soon? I'm a huge fan of you Hans so it's really killing me to not be able to enjoy your amazing music! I would be very thankful for your answer. Hello, dear Hans Zimmer!
My name is Vyacheslav! I am the CEO of small and young theater company «Art-Lab». Our projects are focused on socially vulnerable segments of Russian population - children, seniors and war veterans.
Our company starts a new ballet statement for children, in which they can get knowledge of good and evil, lies and honesty, about how beauty and love will save our lives. For a full and strong sense reflection on the ballet stage, we want to use your music:
1. Cornfield Chase (OST Interstellar),
2. 160 BPM (OST Angels and Demons),
3. "Daniel's 9th Cipher" (OST - The Da Vinci Code)
We hope you will help us.

Mr. Zimmer,

I am writing this to you because a friend of ours who lives with my wife and I is a huge fan of yours. Because of you he is trying to get into the Carnegie School of Music in Pittsburgh, Pa. If there is any way you can send him not only some advice but words of encouragement. It would be much appreciated. He has a couple of disabilities he works with to include Turrets and aspergers syndrome. But he is determined to not only graduate school but to be able to create works as well as you do. He has written some works and he has had very little formal training but your words would help to inspire him.

Thank You

To Whom It May Concern,

I have directed a short film I want to put on youtube, but it would make the world of difference and make my video amazing if I could possibly speak to somebody about obtaining the rights to the song Waiting For A Train from the Inception soundtrack.

Please excuse me if this is not the correct place to ask as I am not sure the exact procedure. It would be much appreciated that if this is not the correct address to ask this, could you point me in the right direction. I can be contacted at thedav3@gmail.com. Thanks in advance.

Though I would much prefer to ask the composer himself, that option seems to be unavailable, so I shall ask the community of fans instead. In the song "Deliver Us" from The Prince of Egypt, around 5 minutes in, is a solo. The instrument that plays that solo sounds like a flute crossed with a recorder, and I would like to know what that instrument is. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.
