Nostalgia has its place but when it turns into stupidity it gets annoying. Vinyl only release, c'mon!... I was so happy when CDs replaced vinyls and now we should be glad that that dated and impractical technology comes back? It's a NO for me!Hybrid, is there any chance we can get some infos and credits for the cues? That would be outstanding. Thanks!Good lord it's like he was exploding with energy and ideas after the touring gigsMore Hans !! :)If you enjoyed Sonic then you’ll probably enjoy this, even though it is far more hyperactive. The score is such a crazy mashup of Carl Stalling/epic orchestral/60’s funk/industrial trap beats/electronic/etc.

I have to say, while the themes aren’t particularly memorable, the last 5 cues or so feature some great choral writing with good use of some ethnic wind instruments (Duduk?)...
I have a question about a song from this documentary that is not on the soundtrack. Could anyone please tell me the track at approximately 47:35? Thunder is cracking, Pantani begins his attack on the Galibier, and Matt Rendell is there with eloquent narration. I got so swept up in the score at this point that I spent over an hour rewinding and Shazaming and looking up all of Balfe, Aruj, and Dworetsky's music I cound fine. Any help would be much appreciated!

Thaks,
SamThey all sound the same. Bland. So what do you think about the westworld competition and what is your most favorite entry? In sound quality (regardless of what certain peope might say about how great LPs sound; it's an analog format) the bootleg already trumps it I guess...I have the same question as well
It could be possible, but there would be too many seconds of overlap between some of these tracks for that to be a possibility in this specific case. I really hope they haven't cut down the tracks to fit on vinyl, otherwise the bootleg will trump it in terms of content.Maybe the different time lengths is due to tracks slightly overlapping each other (as in many HZ soundtrack releases)?Comparing the track times listed here, it seems (at first glance) that many of the tracks are edited down from the complete cues as heard on the bootleg. Could the listed track times be simply incorrect, or have edits been made to make the score fit onto four sides? I guess we can find out when the record ships in July.

Additionally, for those without a record player it sucks that a CD release was not possible for La-La Land. Whatever the reasons are for that, it's a bizarre situation that one independent label can release the same material on vinyl but another cannot on CD. Quite perplexing...@Hybrid, will you make the Scoob Page?Perhaps "The Cistern (Alternate)" is the album version. The music I heard in the film is not 100% the same with the track I heard in the OST.
Dang I cant wait to hear the Alternate 'Cistern' cueVinyl only...How dumb can you getLol, you’re right! I though that was Rambo III climbing the cliffs for a moment.LLL made MI 1 Complete. So they are trying to make MI 2 Complete. That could move Varese to make MI 3 Complete. But studio (Disney) don't want it.Use the Wayback Machine on Archive.org - it's all there! :)

I just wanted to pass along how much I enjoy Hans' music, as well as the website. It's a wealth of information for his fans, and it's also nice that there are profiles on some of the key musicians who Hans collaborates with as well.

One artist in particular, guitar virtuoso PETE HAYCOCK, has always been a favorite player of mine, and I applaud Mr. Zimmer for his great taste and judgment in choosing Mr. Haycock to add his considerable guitar talents to the several soundtracks they've worked on together. It was also great to hear many of these artists perform LIVE with Hans for the "Wings of a Film" concert; a lovely sampling of his great soundtrack work.

I was fortunate and blessed to have Pete Haycock provide all of the music for a documentary featurette I made recently about the Hollister Independence Rally, an annual motorcycle rally that has attracted more than 120,000 people to this small central California town for a 3-day celebration of "The Birthplace of the American Biker". The DVD is entitled "HOLLISTER 2005 -- THE OFFICIAL RALLY DVD", and Pete's music really raised the bar for the visuals to aspire to match. The DVD helps raise donations for a local Hollister-based shelter for abused women and children, and we were indeed grateful to Pete for his kind involvement.

Equally cool was the fact that this DVD project inspired Pete to go back to the studio and extend some tracks -- and add some others -- which resulted in his amazing recently-released 13-track CD entitled "BIKERS' DOZEN"!

For those of you who have enjoyed Hans' scores for "Drop Zone", "K-2", and "Thelma & Louise", among others, you'll likely recognize the sounds of Pete Haycock's magic fingers working the fretboards on several tracks. If you like that (and who doesn't?), then you should check out "BIKERS' DOZEN" -- it's a dynamic collection of some of the best guitar-driven compositions out there, and a must for any fan!

For more information about the Hollister Rally DVD, you can go to the Pelicam website at:
http://www.PelicamProductions.com

And, for more information or to order Pete's "BIKERS' DOZEN" CD, you can go to his official website at:
http://www.PeteHaycock.com

Thanks again, Hans, for all of the amazing soundtracks you've produced -- and that we've enjoyed -- over the years! Keep up the stellar work!

Best regards,

-- Jeff Byler

People don't waste your time on buying the Da Vinci Soundtrack. It is terrible. One of Hans worst. Very boring and had no theme to it. The only good song was #14 which wasn't by Hans. I will wait for the pirates soundtrack to come out before i give up hope on Hans.

May I ask a question?
Could a man have no self-respectful heart?
Why?
Thank for answering me.

Is e-mail for new information out of use ?
I could not find it in your site. So, I wrote here.

I found interviews.

Mark Mancina interview ( Japanese )
http://anime.excite.co.jp/blood/iv/iv_mark.html

He came to Japan for promotion ( Blood+ soundtrack ).
This soundtrack have a good reputation in Japan.
CD shops often pick up this CD by composer's name ( Hans Zimmer and Mark Mancina ).
It is rare in Japan.
I wish many Japanese know RC's music by this CD.
Regrettably many Japanese people don't care almost about soundtracks.
They don't even know composer's name.

Thank you.
Keep up the good work.

People, you will not believe what horrific foundings came to me. I heard this song by Gustav Holst called Mars. A part of it sounds exactly like the battle theme in gladiator. Say it isn't so Hans. I had so much respect for you. Somebody please listen and tell me im wrong cuz i really liked Hans. Here is the link, listen to it all and you will be shocked!

Truly loved the score, we purchased the DVD & "standard" OST CD! (it unfortunately leaves out alot of the songs & incidental music we really wanted to hear from several artists - Badly Drawn Boy, Maroon 5, Charles Trenet, you, etc - why was that?) Any plans for a "complete" expanded release of the OST?

Would love to get our hands on the expanded version, if at all possible. Please email responses to: ursammg@optonline.net.

Keep up the great work!!!

I am a twelve year old pianist and guitar player. I write music a lot, I have never heard music that has moved me as much as Hans Zimmers' "The Well". This music is beautiful and makes the movie so much better than it already is

Dear HZTeam, The Team of RC Prods has been a great inspiration to me. As a composer myself, RC Prods has motivated me in many ways. The music the team has created has been very close to my heart since a young age. Hans Zimmer of course is a hero and role model to me. His music comes from his heart and thats what i admire. I have been composing since i was young on the piano. RC Prods has motivated me to learn the tech part of music. The RC team has shown me that through music production, composing music can expand and mold into different cultures, styles, colors..... I am currently in process of getting a personal production studio so that i may take my music to the next level. Your music has influenced and touched me greatly. Thank you RC Prods Team! I am beside myself now that I have found this web site. I was listening to The Last Samurai soundtrack and I was wondering why I was so mesmerised and satisfied by its hypnotic content. I decided to surf the web in search of anything Hans Zimmer, low and behold I came across Remote Control Productions. Now I know that all the music I was fasinated with like Gladiator, Hannibal, The Lion King, The Last Emporer, Prince of Egypt all came from the genius of Mr. Zimmer. As an amateur composer, I draw intense emotional inspiration from his works. From one Virgo to another, Thanks for the enjoyment!!!

Who the hell is Yoshiki????

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2006-04-05 00:00:00
Yoshiki is one of the greatest composers and and musicians of the probably the past 20 years. He created a social phenomenon with his break all the rules hard rock band 'X Japan'. Since then he's produced many original artists in both asia and the US and Europe.

He was asked to compose and play a song on the KISS tribute album. He's also received many honours in Japan such as writing and performing a song for the Emporer's 10th anniversary and more recently the 2005 Aichi World Expo theme song.

He is now perparing to unleash his talent on the world music market with his long time in recording "--VIOLET UK"--. A project more ambitious than Axel Roses Chinese Democracy album.

You will hear and see more of this man very soon~ so stay tuned
