What about his last cover of "Wicked Games"? What a great surprise! Actually, all the themes are being updated every week. Ramin's stealing the show again!Greetings! I have a question regarding the placement of certain cues. Here, "Mycroft Is Nude" is placed where it plays in the film. However, on the sheets, it's shown as being after "Paris Bombing Investigation." Was the scene originally supposed to be later in the film? This is a highly underrated album. It's nothing short of a masterpiece, a modern opera. The choir is beautiful, and the choice of gospel for the first track gives it a unique identity, though I'm not sure how well it meshes with the orchestra. It feels a bit off, but will hopefully improve for me on further listens.

The composition, has to me, elevated Powell to the status of the second best living composer (Williams is still first for now). It's pure orchestral beauty and mastery with variety of texture, color, and style, with seamless tonal transitions. Sure the choir is an important element, but it really should be named "Hubris Symphony", or "Hubris: The Opera", because that's the status the album deserves. My Attempt at a chronological order with edits (feel free to correct any mistakes or if I missed anything)

1. But once they decided to overhaul the film, they pressured him to go that exact direction. Things stayed still for a while (in which he still got paid) before he was finally let go very late into production. So the idea he sorta just left is interesting, so I'm curious to hear what that was about.

For BW, it seems very likely to me that Marvel simply were unsure about Alexandre's music, so I'm guessing they hired Balfe to do some demos and decided from there. Who knows what the exact timeline is, but I'd wager it'd have to at least be this year if he's been on it a bit. Especially with AD's name having stayed on the posters during it.Hybrid, Desplat left Rogue One just for his own idea? I know he left that movie beacuse schedule conflict for the reshoots.
But for Black Widow seems that the replacement was since months ago with Lorne writing and recording the score at the same timeht tp:// filmmusicreporter. com/2020/04/01/ track-list-for-disneys-live-action-mulan -soundtrack-album-revealed/

Why release a tracklist for an album that won't be released for another 6 months at least. That's just a punch in the gut, in my opinion
So it won't be a last minute and hasty job?No idea but he was on it for a bit, I think.Hybrid, do you know how long Lorne had to score?Score is recorded already.Yup, which makes me wonder if they had to wait before announcing it, considering Desplat was still being listed in posters prior to the delay.

Hallo Herr Zimmer,

wir waren bei "World of Hans Zimmer" in Stuttgart. Es war einfach atemberaubend!

Machen sie weiter so!

Der Soundtrack von Interstellar gehört zu meinen Favoriten!

Viele Grüße

I'm all for banning trolls, but the Balfe guy honestly didn't say anything that bad this time. He just seemed like he was expressing an opinion not spouting the same "Hans Zimmer's music sucks now wah, wah, wah" argument. Granted he was kind of being a dick about it, but not sure if it was worth a ban.

Olive2018-04-28 02:26:03
I disagree. The guy uses several different "screen names", including some already-known screen names, to make provocative comments. Do you want to be accepted? Use a single name and discuss what you get without being a coward.

superultramegaa2018-04-28 02:45:54
Okay, I'll be devil's advocate here for once.

1. He uses screen names now because Hybrid was banning him, though there is no reason why he used different people's names other than to be a dick so I'll agree with that.

2. If he ever wants to discuss things seriously he can't because he'll get banned. I think it's possible that he might've wanted to discuss more on John Powell's Solo.

However I'll agree that it is cowardly to constantly change his name. If he does want to peacefully discuss, he should stick to one name every time he comes back. Plus he was shitting on Kawczynski and Balfe, but part of me thinks it might be interesting to hear his opinions instead of him just shouting about people he hates.

His comment on the Transformers score of his admiration of Jablonsky's use of choir for the Decepticon theme was interesting, and hearing some of his criticisms of Balfe was insightful as I didn't know Balfe consistently used samples and had a cheaper aesthetic as I've never gotten invested in a Balfe score.

His problem is his aggressive presentation. I just think he would be an interesting cynic to hear from regarding RCP. Then again we have Meta for that and he's not nearly as much of a dick about it.

Hybrid Soldier2018-04-28 07:35:52
I don't care what he wants to say. He went too far, he's a no go.

No matter what his "name" on the site is.

superultramegaa2018-04-28 15:06:33
Fair enough. I agree it's his fault anyway if he did want to actually discuss anything.

Olive2018-04-29 03:29:55
Yeah, it's a question of ID. But for us, who are mere readers, the "name" is important.
Well, after all, I was not always "Olive" (bullshit name xD / it's my surname).

Maybe you do know Joe Kramer won't return to score Mission Impossible 6. And no one seems to know who will.
So here's my question : any chance to see someone from RC doing this ?

Thanks for reading me. Keep goin' your good job here, it's appreciated. :)

Hello great team of Hans Zimmer,

I was recently listening to "The Might of Rome" (Gladiator soundtrack) and I am craving to listen the long version of the piece around 2:38 - 2:48 (something like an oriental flute). Does it exist as a standalone composition? Is it inspired from some third party artist, if yes, can you please tell my which one?

Thanks!

Hi everyone. Does anybody know where i can get the Interstellar Complete Score ? It says Unofficial Release so I can't find it in any shop.

Damien, Moderator2017-10-15 12:45:41
Take a look at top of this page www.hans-zimmer.com/index.php?rub=discography&bt=3&numid=1
This is the reason why you can't find it in any shop and you will not get an answer here.

Martin2017-10-15 18:41:41
Thanks for reply. I asked Watertower Music and they said they did limited edition and that it may be sold out. I was looking if somebody got it from them or if it's just a mistake on their part.

No. The tracklist here is for archival purposes and to my knowledge there has been no expanded score release announced. It may or may not leak in future, but there is no way of predicting if and when that would happen.

Hi, i just want to say that in my country movie composers don't come very often, not even to countries neer mine. Hans, like James Horner (RIP), James Newton Howard, Steve Jablonsky, Ilan Eshkeri, and more others, i just want to say that it would be awesome to come to my country. Chile needs some of this. I know that is almost imposible to happen something like that writing just one messege in one page, i just want to express myself. I hope it does. Greetings to all.

Hallo,
Weiß jemand was dazu?

LG

I think BGM stands for any sort of background music, e.g. caffe music, game themes and, sometimes, film scores. But, IMO, "score" sounds way beter than "BGM"

Dear Hans,

I am your number one fan. Playing and listening to your music brings on me a sense of ecstasy. When the perfect song hits, an ordinary day becomes extraordinary. Even if I've heard your songs a million times before, they affect me the same way. It's the pulse of the beat, the flow of the chord structure, a repetitive keyboard part, background harmonies or the thump of a bass line.
The overall production of your tracks can bring this euphoria, making everyone wonder how you got the music to work.
I spend hours cataloging albums and genres, creating timelines, lists and graphs, as if trying to solve a physics equation. Simply trying to make sense of it all takes hours. The constant search for a new, essential artist, album or song is something I do, all for the love of music, this is why I know you and Rick Wakeman should join hands and do a project together. I am certain you and Rick have a special bond and are ready to make a great project together.

If we didn't have music, we'd have no purpose,

Kind regards and big hug from me,
Gilberto Palma.

Christy2017-11-09 22:57:27
I pretty much know you will never see this, Mr. Zimmer.
But, I feel compelled to tell you that you have positively impacted my life with your music - which touches my core.
Thank you for creating. Thank you for your vision. And, above all else, thank you for your music which invigorates me. renews me, inspires me, and makes me both smile and cry. Thank you for being.
